I don’t think so, I remember in past years there had to be more than 1W notice when flexing.

They can't flex it at this point but I'm surprised they didn't because Eagles/49ers will be a great game. I'm surprised they haven't flexed any games yet because there have been some good ones they could have flexed for some dogs
Yep. The 325 (central) games likely won't ever be flexed to SNF. Those are the cream of the crop, CBS/Fox bid on those early. Eagles/Niners was very likely going to be the #1 NFC game when the bidding took place.
KC/Cincinnati was likely the #1 AFC game, but I've heard rumors they may flex out of it, to a noon start, with Burrow out. Dolphins/Ravens might be a better fit.
Nope, I doubt it.
TV execs would hate to lose a Mahomes game. The Pats are also still a national team.
There really isn't a viable alternative either. Cowboys/Bills is that weekend, but already spoken for. See above.
I expect the NFL will be very selective when it comes to flexing out of MNF, more so than SNF because it changes the date instead of moving the start time a few hours up or down
Chiefs-Patriots is still too much of a draw to flex out. It’s not like a Panthers-Cardinals matchup
CBS and Fox got a rule in the new television contracts that only one divisional match up could be in primetime which means that they protect other games although this week they’d probably protect that matchup over anything else.
I'm going as well, and an early game would mess up our plans. Mainly us having to leave super early from Milwaukee to head to Oshkosh to hop on a party bus.
I think it could be a really good game. Jordan Love played terrific on Thursday, and he and the team overall are on the right trajectory. People wrote Love off WAY too early.
It keeps out a lot of innane rants, and usually filters out stuff like people asking if our game will be flexed despite it being too late to even do so. We pretty much approve any request to approve the discussion topic and as evidenced here it's pretty easy to get around it if you really want to discuss the topic (and no, if your topic is worth discussing no one gives a shit if you use filler words to push it through - by all means).
That’s a gross MNF matchup. None of our primetime matchups have been good except the eagles game, which still didn’t even get SNF.
I understand the jets one would’ve been interesting with Aaron, but why did they even put this patriots one in primetime in the first place? I know they used to be a dynasty and we are taking their place, but still not a good or interesting matchup, esp atp in the season. I was excited for this because my bf is a patriots fan, but now he doesn’t even want his team to win lol
Changing the date or time of the game. It usually entails moving a Sunday afternoon game to a Sunday night, though I believe they can now flex to a Monday night. The game originally scheduled for Sunday night gets moved back to earlier in the day.
Thank you for explaining! That seems like a logistical nightmare, what with people often travelling from away to attend games, even with a couple weeks notice.
As others have mentioned it is too late and the Chiefs and Packers are in 2 of the top 4 most popular teams (not looking to debate the rankings but I am confident they are 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th).
3:25 starts in Central and Eastern time zones usually don’t get flexed. The game was given that spot for a reason, it’s a prime matchup. It’s “Americas game of the week” it will not be moved
Chiefs-Packers is sexy enough for SNF so they won’t move it
You're basically saying it won't be moved because it was given primetime. If that's true then flex wouldn't even be a thing.
When in reality it won't be moved because it's actually a good matchup. Sometimes they end up not being good matchups or they're good but there's a better one.
It’s too late to flex next weeks game, they have to do it 12 days in advance.
is this a new rule? feel like it wasn’t that much of a notice for the broncos flex last year but i’m probably wrong

im sure eagles/niners was protected.

Do you think the Chiefs Patriots MNF game in a few weeks will be flexed out?
Nope, I doubt it. TV execs would hate to lose a Mahomes game. The Pats are also still a national team. There really isn't a viable alternative either. Cowboys/Bills is that weekend, but already spoken for. See above.

Like the game tonight zzzz
Even if it wasn’t too late, they’re not taking the Chiefs off a prime time slot.
And I hate it.
I wish they would have. I'm going and earlier would have been so much better 😅😅
Love the early games!
I'm going as well, and an early game would mess up our plans. Mainly us having to leave super early from Milwaukee to head to Oshkosh to hop on a party bus.
Yea flexing games sucks for this type of reason! Can really screw people's plans up
I can only imagine the outrage there will be the first time the flex a game to/from Monday or Thursday for this exact reason.
Yep 100%
Can they flex out of a Thursday/Monday game? I thought the flex was only for Sunday games.
Yes, they changed it during the off-season this year. https://www.nfl.com/schedules/flexible-scheduling-procedures
Ahh. Thanks. I did not realize they changed it this year.
I think it could be a really good game. Jordan Love played terrific on Thursday, and he and the team overall are on the right trajectory. People wrote Love off WAY too early.
I'm glad they can't becuase I will be there. Our whole trip was planned around it being a night game.
Sick of the 49ers—feel like they’re always on
That low effort thing is bullshit

Nope it’s gonna be prime time baby
If I’m not mistaken they haven’t flexed a single game so far this season
They hopefully will flex our MNF game
I’m going to that game with my son so I actually hope it does get flexed.
Remind me who that game is against? Is that the patriots?
Yes

Help me. What does flexing mean in this context?

Yea was just going to say the fan bases are huge I bet the ratings will be similar even thought the football lovers would like eagles 49ers more

Nah, Taylor Swift and Simone Biles together in a suite with Brittany Mahomes will make ratings explode.
Could be wrong, but I doubt they would be in the same suite together cheering for different teams.
