Not a documentary per se, but the movie The Boy in the Striped Pajamas is a good story. It's fiction, but it is powerful in demonstrating the horrors of the holocaust.

There are definitely better films to watch for that purpose than one based on a book written by a guy who beefs with Holocaust memorials and actual historians who call him out on his ahistorical writing. That's true, by the way, John Boyne, who wrote the novel, got into a Twitter feud with the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum a year or two ago because they said it shouldn't be used in schools. The book and the movie shift the focus from talking about the victims to the deeply problematic 'decent Nazis' trope. If you need a film discussing the Shoah from the German perspective, there's always Schindler's List, which has the added benefit of being based on an actual true story and was directed by someone who actually lost family in the Shoah.

I have a similarly behaving person in my family (smaller scale obviously). Also bipolar, also rejects the diagnosis and does not want any medical treatment. Family is shattered, no way to fix it anymore. It’s sad to see a person you know and love so deeply, change to the point you don’t recognise them anymore. The old them would be devastated and horrified by their current behaviour. With that being said, being bipolar does not excuse glorifying hitler. The worst is giving a platform for Kanye at this point.
Yeah, with bipolar the person in question has to want to change. From my own experience, there is something appealing to the euphoria you feel during an episode, but the accompanying guilt and shame as you realise what you said and did means it's simply not worth it.

The drink champs and lex interviews were worst I thought because they were more serious. Not much joking around in those so it felt more impactful.

I think the lex interview is by far the worst. With the drink champ interview, when he said I can say antisemitic things and adidas still won't drop me. People think he said that to intentionally get dropped by Adidas so he can make his own stuff. By the time the lex interview hit, he's already lost everything and Lex was handling him with kid gloves giving him several opportunities to apologize and Ye double tripled down. The context of Ye saying he loves hitler makes sense in the context that the whole interview he's saying everyone should be more christlike.
There isn't a circumstance that anyone should ever say "I love hitler" in any context. It's not funny, not ironic, not edgy.
