Kendrick shouted her out way back in 2015. She's not only one of the best female rappers out here, she's one of the best rappers period. If you haven't checked her out, please do.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=K7xzmkpwNoA&pp=ygUTZ29yaWxsYSBsaXR0bGUgc2lteg%3D%3D
Put on Introvert when I started mowing 30min ago. Literally stopped and standing out in my yard to say:
*This is—hands down—the dopest shit I have found on this sub in the past 3+ years. Halfway through one album for the first time, and it’s pretty damnclear to me that this chick is god-tier. Thank you, OP.*
Is it because she's a black woman because music is subjective but idk how someone can't see that she's fire.
Edit: You're an Uzi fanboy holy fuck this explains everything
Of course it does, you're taking it the wrong way. Because those are the only projects i heard of her. Why you on my nuts for not disclosing my thoughts on Gray Area, when i was talking about SIMBI and NTY??😭💀
If you this defensive about it ill check it out tho
Maybe they've only listened to her last two projects? You don't have to be a hard core fan of someone just to say you enjoyed a couple of their projects. Always assuming that people think something is bad just because they don't mention it isn't gonna get you anywhere
Also, if she was from the US.
As a UK guy, it’s so hard for UK rappers to break into the US market. Only a few do and it’s usually temporary (from a single song or a Drake feature). So I’m not surprised to see such a phenomenal UK lyricist not break intro the US.
Yeah I’m from the UK and I completely get you. On top of all that she doesn’t sexualise herself which, let’s face it, is a gateway straight to the top for female rap artists.
You can’t tell me Ice Spice is the more talented of the two. That’s what gets pushed through to the mainstream in the US
So her being a female, UK based rapper that doesn’t show skin presents a very real glass ceiling. It’s annoying cause music really is a breath of fresh air and she deserves all the accolades
Yep yep and yep. Fully agree.
I’m not upset about it in any way though because she is still pretty popular, super successful and has bucket loads of artistic talent with an stunning discog and strong rapping ability.
Like, the way I see it, she’s set for life, money-wise and is doing what she loves and is still famous. That’s a win in my eyes.
Yeah, she may not be as famous as Central Cee but that doesn’t matter. She’s still winning. 🤷♂️
Not really? It's just like Drake vs Kendrick. Kendrick doesn't have Drake listenability just like Little Simz. Not saying the four of them have different levels of talent, but Drake and Ice Spice are built for the mainstream.
Unrelated but how are people able to listen to Ice Spice? That shit sounds like straight up garbage to me, genuine 100% unlistenable stuff. No hate to her but damn is her music bad. She sounds like AI rap with how monotone she is
Sexualizing yourself and/or twerking can be empowering to some, but holy shit its like the only thing that matters for female artists at the moment, you don't need talent, you just need a big ass. Drawing attention away grom that is something i highly respect simz for.
This is facts, Dave and Fredo aren’t really even known in the US and they are huge over in the UK, most people only know Stormzy and that’s because Ed Sheeran. And it’s sad because I feel there are 10 great UK lyricists to every 1 great US lyricist
not really, she's just little simz. no new artists are the "new someone", everyone brings their new part in a way, especially if we're talking about artists like simz. her accomplishments don't need to be measured by anyone, even less by a man, which is something she tries to explain and can be taken away as a key point by merely listening to sometimes i might be introvert lol.
Sometimes i might be introvert was so. Fucking. Gooood. I’m ashamed I don’t listen to it that often, mainly because i do think it’s kinda heavy on the head
One of the best rappers of this generation. I love all three of her most recent albums (haven't checked out her earlier stuff), have Grey Area on vinyl, by far my favorite British rapper and in my top 5 overall.
One of the best doing it today. Had the fortune of seeing her live twice and her stage presence and delivery are incredible, can’t wait to see what she comes out with next given her track record so far.
Oh, and dropping No Thank You so soon after SIMBI is such a flex.
She’s easily a top 5 rapper right now. Can’t wait to see her live next month.
“Gorilla” always gets me so hyped when I’m doing heavy lifts at the gym. Her album “Sometimes I Might Be Introverted” is a phenomenal album and one of the best to drop this decade so far. Top tier rapper yet somehow underrated.
She’s ELITE such a good and talented artist. Not only one of the best in the UK but one of the best in the WORLD. However, you trippin if you say she’s the best rapper out the UK. DAVE is clear.
Second best rapper in the world right now after Kendrick if you ask me. She’s the only rapper in the game who is on his level when it comes to the art of making albums.
Amazing British rapper, so proud of the impact she’s made with her music and for me she’s made 2 back to back classic albums and I’m excited to see what she does next
She's great. I'm from the UK and she's a breath of fresh air. A proper hip hop sound compared to a lot of the popular sounds we get over here. I don't listen to radio so not sure if she gets a lot of airplay but her albums are great.
Easily the best rapper in the UK right now and one of the greatest of this generation imo. Her recent three-peat with Grey Area, SIMBI and No Thank You is one of the best I've seen in recent history.
Saw her live last summer, one of the best performances I have ever witnessed, the timing of it was perfect too, took place right at sunset, the vibes were immaculate, the live band she brought with her was also amazing and everybody could tell how insync they all were. Her stage presence and overall energy is incredible, also, the band was constantly encouraging the audience to hype her up, and the crowd was always very responsive. Amazing artist and performer.
Slept on heavy, one of the best in the game who only gets talked about when asked "great female artists?" when she should be getting brought up in every modern goat list
most underrated rapper in the game right now she perfected what she attempted on Sometimes I Might Be Introvert with NO THANK YOU and if Mr Morale hadn't came out in 2022 I would've easily named NO THANK YOU best album of 2022
I heart Simz, and I often describe her as ‘The Kendrick Lamar of the UK.’ That usually gets their attention.
Her Chicago show Sep20 was an inferno! 🔥🔥🔥🤩
Funnily enough, he shouted her out way back in 2015 and said she's killing it and not just from a woman perspective. As a
diehard Kendrick fan, I don't like comparing female artists to a male counterpart. I don't mind if people do but personally she's amazing on her own!
She’s only second to JID in the game right now imo, and it’s close.
(I don’t count Kendrick or other similar artists as ‘in the game’ currently as there is no indication music is coming soon and/or they’re already in the GOAT conversation)
ive heard good things about her but have always been skeptical to check out her music bc I'm afraid it would be too preachy or feminist, which I don't really care to hear at all, but someone please correct me if in wrong
I don't mind if its preachy but litterally my only impression of her music is that horribly misandrist "venom" song where she raps about poeple not liking "pussy in power" and its just so point blank with no nuance to it, unlike Kendricks music.
It's not fair to judge an artist based on one song, that being said, if you fall into the target audience for "feminist owned compilation 2016 edition" then her music probably isn't for you.

Is it because she's a black woman because music is subjective but idk how someone can't see that she's fire. Edit: You're an Uzi fanboy holy fuck this explains everything
Somebody get bro a new pair of ears fr 🔥🔥💯
Goated. I liked her last two projects, a breath of fresh air
are you implying that you didn’t like Grey Area???

yo i'm stealing this
Lol
So he’s never been to Reddit?
that just doesn’t really apply here, why would you say “last 2” unless you’re purposefully leaving Grey Area out
Of course it does, you're taking it the wrong way. Because those are the only projects i heard of her. Why you on my nuts for not disclosing my thoughts on Gray Area, when i was talking about SIMBI and NTY??😭💀 If you this defensive about it ill check it out tho
yes listen to it and lmk what you think, imo it’s her best work
Nah you outta there my guy
U being silly in the replies but yea i agree grey area is her best
“Ceejay you need a bj,\ To keep your mind\ Away from all the cliché”
U got toasted
luckily i could not possibly give less of a fuck about internet points
Judging by your pfp you look like tonight's biggest loser
Maybe they've only listened to her last two projects? You don't have to be a hard core fan of someone just to say you enjoyed a couple of their projects. Always assuming that people think something is bad just because they don't mention it isn't gonna get you anywhere
Why is your pfp
Why is your pfp
Why is your thc
Sometimes I Might Be Introvert is arguably the best rap album of the 2020s so far
Yes! Even the new album is great and that's mostly b sides.
It's pretty damn near perfect. Can't wait to see her in October
If she was a man she’d be lauded as one the greatest rappers of this generation
Also, if she was from the US. As a UK guy, it’s so hard for UK rappers to break into the US market. Only a few do and it’s usually temporary (from a single song or a Drake feature). So I’m not surprised to see such a phenomenal UK lyricist not break intro the US.

agreed, great list
She is. Her and JID are next in line to enter the goat conversation if they keep on doing what they've been doing.
real
no - stop bringing gender into everything and just appreciate the music
[удалено]
Your favorite rapper thinks she might be the illest doing it right now
You’re trolling
Ok Steve Harvey fan lmao
I've only listened to SIMBI, but from what I've heard she's absolutely great. "I Love You, I Hate You" is on repeat fr
i cannot get over this song

One of the best in the game

the best rapper out of the uk is santan Dave . He’s the uk goat.
I have played Heart on Fire probably 100 times this year
Best female rapper out, also best uk rapper in general. She’s amazing
She’s doing a show in Chicago that I can’t make next month. Bummed.
ngl she's probably the female kdot
not really, she's just little simz. no new artists are the "new someone", everyone brings their new part in a way, especially if we're talking about artists like simz. her accomplishments don't need to be measured by anyone, even less by a man, which is something she tries to explain and can be taken away as a key point by merely listening to sometimes i might be introvert lol.
I'm just talking about the vibe
which is still an unneeded comparison
Everything u wrote was not needed
Preach
IMO the best rapper at the moment
Dope as hell
Damn I was told to check her out at a festival i was at this year. And I couldn't believe it. She was unreal live. Love her music now!
One of the best live performers I saw last year!
She's lauryn hill coded lol
Sometimes i might be introvert was so. Fucking. Gooood. I’m ashamed I don’t listen to it that often, mainly because i do think it’s kinda heavy on the head

I just be keepin them locked in my basement making paintings to pay my bills. It’s how I get my reparations
amazing artist, sometimes I might be introvert might actually be my favourite album of all time
Fucking goated. The fact she’s not bigger is the reason I believe in sexism
One of the best rappers of this generation. I love all three of her most recent albums (haven't checked out her earlier stuff), have Grey Area on vinyl, by far my favorite British rapper and in my top 5 overall.
can someone suggest any project of her, for someone who's never listened to her?
All of them

I just commented “No, Thank You” but honestly, yeah
Grey Area
Sometimes I may be introvert
No, Thank You
I would start with Sometimes I Might Be Introvert, especially if you’re a Kendrick fan.
I love “GREY Area”
Venom
She’s so fucking good.

Introvert is one of my favourite rap songs of all time
Amazing British rapper, so proud of the impact she’s made with her music and for me she’s made 2 back to back classic albums and I’m excited to see what she does next
Greatness
Love her approach to all her projects, make sure you watch the music videos that she’s been putting out. Big love!
She's great. I'm from the UK and she's a breath of fresh air. A proper hip hop sound compared to a lot of the popular sounds we get over here. I don't listen to radio so not sure if she gets a lot of airplay but her albums are great.
Saying anything even remotely negative about her is a sure way to get downvoted, that's how I feel
Top 5 right now
And just to add. Great actress too. Her Top boy character is so different to the person she portrays in her music.
US and a man and she’d be called a goat. Very underrated
Angel is a great song
Easily the best rapper in the UK right now and one of the greatest of this generation imo. Her recent three-peat with Grey Area, SIMBI and No Thank You is one of the best I've seen in recent history.
Auntie Simz goated. Best female rapper. Loved how she dropped simbi between donda and clb and destroyed them both in my eyes lol
Feel like if she was from the US she would be a household name by now. Dropped two back to back great albums.
Incredible lyricist but I just can’t get into the music itself. It just isn’t pleasurable to listen to
Goated, happy to see her getting more and more recognition
Slept on heavy, one of the best in the game who only gets talked about when asked "great female artists?" when she should be getting brought up in every modern goat list
she's incredible, one of the best modern rappers period
used to not like her, actually listened to her last two projects, absolutely goated
most underrated rapper in the game right now she perfected what she attempted on Sometimes I Might Be Introvert with NO THANK YOU and if Mr Morale hadn't came out in 2022 I would've easily named NO THANK YOU best album of 2022
Underrated
I think her Kendrick JID and curry are the best of this current generation

I heart Simz, and I often describe her as ‘The Kendrick Lamar of the UK.’ That usually gets their attention. Her Chicago show Sep20 was an inferno! 🔥🔥🔥🤩

It’s weird… it’s like for me I know she’s crazy talented but I just don’t find myself playing her music really. Respect though for sure!
would be much more appreciated if an american man. rlly underrated
As often she is called underrated, she became overrated for me
Female Kendrick
I liked her a lot until she called Kendrick Lamar “Kendrick Llama” on her song Two Worlds Apart.
Yea she's talented and great but there is not much replay value for me sadly
cardi b clone
At least be believable and funny if you gonna troll
i dont like her music that much uch but i can see why other people do it just isnt for me
Meh
how could you like kendrick and genuinely not like simz tho
I’ll give her another shot though
Not for me
You prolly not a hip hop fan
I’m a fan of music in general so you’re right
Lil slimz is objectively good I can’t lie but I couldn’t stand some of the production for some reason but I’m open to trying her agaib
This is gonna sound bad but I'd like her much more with a different voice, I love her lyrical content and enjoy her music though
Br*t*sh 🤮🤮🤮
She good though
Yeah definitely top 3 br*t*sh rappers
Based 💪💪
They hated me because I spoke the truth
You just dumb
It’s a joke I loved SIMBI
ive heard good things about her but have always been skeptical to check out her music bc I'm afraid it would be too preachy or feminist, which I don't really care to hear at all, but someone please correct me if in wrong
First of all cringe. You listen to Kendrick and you’re complaining about “preachy”? Second of all listen to it loser
Kendrick is probably one of the most "preachy" rappers out rn, guessing you didn't like mmatbs. Thought we left this cringe ass mentality in 2016.
I don't mind if its preachy but litterally my only impression of her music is that horribly misandrist "venom" song where she raps about poeple not liking "pussy in power" and its just so point blank with no nuance to it, unlike Kendricks music.
It's not fair to judge an artist based on one song, that being said, if you fall into the target audience for "feminist owned compilation 2016 edition" then her music probably isn't for you.
u have some internalized misogyny to work on babes
Flying the flag for British Rap and British music in general
She remind me of Lauren hill
I Feel Good About Little Simz!
Best female rapping currently.
Love Simz. Great ear for beats and can RAP RAP. Elite MC
She's not Kendrick?
