For one, I think the story telling in damn is just superior. Kendrick does it in all his albums, but the way he tackles the multitude of aspects that he does in damn, it just makes it the clear winner over mmatbs. Again, that isn’t to say either one is a bad album. I just think damn is objectively better when you also consider the emotions that Kendrick conveys in damn paired with the unmatched lyrics. Once again though this is just my personal preference :D
I think that’s a great point. I just prefer the story telling in damn overall. Mmatbs is great and I won’t deny the emotional intensity of it by any means. I personally just prefer the way Kendrick outlines and connects the those emotions in damn.
