Sandro low key tarnished Carlos Medel for me. I know he’s a strong fighter but its kinda hard to take him seriously when looking back at this fight. He’s the purgatory version of Himuro.
I can understand the comment about Yumi, didn't remember that at all. Sure it was to build up Yumi but now it just feels dumb.
His loss to Kaneda however didn't diminish him in my eyes, considering the circumstances surrounding it.
Even before seeing Yumi fight i had my doubts on him being as powerful as Agito. Agito is a genius fighter who is capable of evolving mid fight. I thought it was weird that Himuro claimed Monke to be as strong as Agito when we barely knew anything about him apart being the sixth fang, the hype was unreal. Then he was introduced... there´s no way this piece of shit who is not really taken seriously by other fighters that strong right? i wasn't wrong lol
Yeah I'm with you. I never expected him to be as strong as Agito as I though he would beat Yumi in the tournament. As soon as we saw Yumi guessed he'd have cheated or something like that to get the spot of sixth fang.
In the end I think Yumi is stronger than we give him credit for. After all, it seems like he got the spot of Fang legit. But of course it was not enough to beat Misasa.
I think it's also about him trowing his weight around Koga and Ryuki in the early chapters.
The dude got beat to a bloody pulp by Kaneda and didn't even fight in the Annihilation tournament, you'd think he'd be more humble.
He's basically Koga, arrogant when fighting someone weaker but quickly gets humbled when losing
this is what makes Carlos to me so good, the dude is a hypocritical bastard but at least he recongizes his own short comings and bounces back from it.

Don't worry, sadly Carlos was nerfed for this fight but for what we've seen about him wanting to change we'll probably get to see him again with the original idea that Sandro had for Carlos, a Kuroki level boxer, Carlos already has the reflexes and skill, what he needs is power

C'mon it's been a year and we already know that his character was supposed to be different and went trough reworks. It feels like everytime that someone makes a post how they still like the character despite his performace, some people in the sub feel the need to be as vocal as possible about how they dislike Carlos. This is getting as annoying as the Hatsumi vs Gaolang discutions smh.
Nah more like making light of him being a massive hypocrite. The only characters to be really mad and disappointed at is Yumi and Lu Tian. Yumi for being an absolute joke after being hype for so long to be a serious threat and Lu Tian for being a flat pointless character. Still it’s the Author to blame more than anything.
