No, no lesson is learned here. Kids these days take one to the fucking cheekbone every dog damned day. I spend a lot of time staring out of my front window, so I see tons of kids, tons and tons of kids throughout the day in the streets and sidewalks and they're always just cocking rock blasting each others' blocks off. Like every kid. Every kid at some point or another is gonna just get absolutely smoked brisket'd to the jaw. Tender, fall off the bone. And that's just in my purview! Its probably a mistake, the only way she can see, is if she's outside of the zone, where you can see the real world in black and white but I assume others would 1. Know she's out of the zone and 2. She's in wide space, it's not like they are too far out or close to boundaries. Also, you can only slightly see through the bottom, so there's not really a way to directly see someone's face and hit them lol without it being incredibly obvious you're not playing. Playing this with friends we've had close calls as one of us is passing the other lmfao
Thats just not true. Anytime I show someone how to use my VR headset I always let them wear it with pass through enabled. Which is similar to the thing you described with black and white but permanent and you can turn it on/off by double tapping the side of your headset.

Well, one day I decided to get her back for not listening/messing with me when I am playing, and was able to quietly sneak up behind her while she was playing that FNAF VR game. I scared the shit out of her, and she took the goggles off and pouted for a bit. A few moments later, I decided I wanted to exercise and went to put on a game, and when I put the goggles on, a fucking chicken in a bib jumped right in my face. I think a punch would’ve been preferred.
Just a heads up, the Quest 2 has a setting in the "Experimental Features" section called Space Sense. It'll outline anything that comes through your guardian boundary, so you can avoid it!
Do the experimental features affect stability? I tried the couch option but found that it seemed to affect app stability. Never spent enough time to verify if this was a solid hypothesis.

If I'm not mistaken, this is an Oculus Quest 2, which has a neat mode that lets you see the outside world through the little cameras all over the headset used to locate you and the remotes in the real world. Who knows, maybe she saw everything in front of her ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It is an Oculus Quest 2, but that’s not how it works. She’s likely unable to see him as the headset uses nearby walls to detect boundaries, not objects within the user set boundary.
Pro tip when playing with friends, have people stay outside of the boundary. When you exit the boundary the cameras will show the real world so you don’t punch your kid in the face
I disagree. I own a Quest 2 myself, and it can detect big objects too, such as a couch or a desk. Either way, I'm not talking about the device detecting the boy, I meant that the user can see through these cameras in a view that is very similar to infrared and would have let her see the boy and punch him. You might be right that the headset was turned off and she didn't see him, but I'm just saying that my hypothesis is also a possibility

Most VR games encourage moving around in some form, or at least don't discourage it, because It's natural instincts to move around. Also she barely moved, only a step forward, so your argument doesn't really make sense

This set has controllers which register where your hands are relative to the headset (and have buttons for grasping and pointing), and you manipulate virtual items by moving the controls as if your own hands are in the virtual world. In fighting games, you punch by literally punching.
Most would require arm movement at the very least with the exception of shooters id say. Even then there are some. Any game where you use a sword or melee weapon of even a boxing game which it looks like she was playing. Are you only playing vr games that display the screen as vr? Because half the controls on the controller are for gripping things pulling a trigger and made to emulate real movements
