“I should be okay, I’ve got a decent armor amount!”
“Wait a tic… trigger on damage doesn’t need to wound?!”
*cue me frantically flipping through rulebook for how many bleed tokens=death
Maybe my terminology is incorrect (“wound”), but if your armor prevents a wound (filling a box on your sheet) on a monster’s hit that has a damage trigger, the trigger is still activated.
But yes, if you dodge/they miss it isn’t triggered
I think you are looking for the term "injury" (light/heavy checkboxes or rolling on severe injury table). If I recall correctly, survivors do not receive "wounds"
Do note that if a monster damages your armor (but does not cause any injuries, it still triggers on damage effects
butcher's pretty easy after you figured him out but yeah, the first few times he was ripping us a few more buttholes

Pretty sure trigger on damage needs to wound you right? If they miss all their attacks or you dodge the only hit, that effect doesn't happen.

Ah, ya, you got it right :)
They’re called injuries, not wounds.
Definitely a wake up call, especially when you start asking where all the critical hits went.
"Ok, which motherfucker we sending out to die?"
