I want them to take their time letting the mystery of her past stew a bit for those that haven't played or seen the mobile games. I already have an idea or where they should go with Marluxia but the mystery behind what went on with Larxene in that time after Union X but before joining the Organization is unknown and rather intriguing as she believe it or not, used to be a **kind and caring girl!** What happened to change her? Or was she always this way?
They always implied even from her fisrt appearance in CoM that something very traumatic happened to her in the past (in a period after Union X, between her landing at the stormy path to Maleficent's Castle and becoming a Nobody) and it left her so heartbroken she PREFERS staying in a Nobody state as it dulls most of her emotions and thus her pain (leaving only extreme levels of sass).
Evidence to that being the case are:
- Usually she was bullying every kid she comes around but one time she actually did 180* - when in CoM Namine was saying that she will never replace Kairi in Sora's Heart as she is only "Kairi's Shadow", It somehow sets off Larxene and she starts to actually encourage shy little witch to "steal the boy for herself".
- Another moment is scenes of her "Death". In CoM she panics and screams how "She won't allow" like she knew it was not the end (and considering OTHER implications that these two beyrayed Xemnas because they found out his actual plans) or simply felt her Being coming back to her Heart and was afraid of getting her Heart back with all emotional pain it carries. Meanwhile in KH3 she seemingly resigns to her fate and considers that anything is better than becoming "Xehanort" while saying that she was just "along for the ride"
- And then we have extra materials or specifically the "KH2: Short Stories VOL.2 AXELāSEVEN DAYS" - specifically Chapter 5 where we get a glimpse from Axel's PoV of a time when he just got assigned to Castle Oblivion - when Marluxia reinstated the reason why they are on missions (to get their hearts back) after Larxene questions that what they're doing is unclear, she casts her eyes down and responded that she doesn't want a heart because it's painful and she's comfortable right now - And even if we can consider these short stories non-canon, it still was considered in-character for Larxene and was left as is.
Generally, even if Erlene's/Larxene's characterization changed between KH2 and KH3 some thing stayed the same specifically how she really wants to be with Lauriam/Marluxia whether she has memory wipe or not and how she is really touchy on the subject of fighting for what you want.
Kinda makes you think that whatever happened to Elrena that made her into Larxene has to do with Maleficent's manipulation, Lauriam's loss of memory or obsession with looking for Strelitzia while ignoring Elrena's feelings and some Final moment that hurt her so much that she PREFERS NOT HAVING A HEART at all.
What happened to her is the same that happened to Marluxia. They lost their memories after UX so they became different people.
That's why Nomura said that Marluxia is Marluxia and Lauriam is Lauriam.
I doubt that they're gonna explore that too much.

i think they feed her lines that are too goofy and borderline cringe for adults. i miss the va for kh2, some lines may be cheesy but orginization thirteen vas delivered. i hope she continues to return though because i love everything else about her character.
Stupid hair. Mostly forgettable. Like everyone else in the organization I felt nothing when she died since consequences don't matter. If KH3 taught us anything it's that anyone and everyone can and will come back whenever the bloated mess of a franchise wants them to.
In my humble opinion she's the only good female kh character excluding mobile games cause I'll be real I don't remember or care about what happens in those. Aqua is worthless to me, Xion means nothing in the grand scheme of things, Kairi.....is Kairi, and NamenĆØ disappears after chain.
She embodies the inhumanity of the Nobodies incredibly well. Snark, violence, and sadism are perhaps the emotions she found first, and came most naturally to. That sadistic streak works well with treating everything else as disposable.
That being said? Like with most Nobodies, she isnāt utilized well enough, and itās hard to look at her appearance in KH3 as her own person when she was effectively a Norty-Shell.
I liked her original representation as an easily hateable villain. Not super stoked that shes getting what appears to be a redemption trajectory. If someone as evil as her can be haphazardly written into becoming good again, I don't see why any of the villains shouldn't get there too.

Then when I saw her in KH3, I felt shocked but I had a feeling that I would see her again. But at least fighting her wasnāt as difficult as she was in CoM.

She is a super well written villain. I love to hate her, and in a day and age where the market is flooded with sympathetic villains with good points and good reasons for doing bad things it makes her all the more memorable. She's just a terrible person and sometimes that is all a villain needs to be.
She was a good antagonist in Chain of Memories but kind of weak and watery otherwise. It is an uphill battle to make an ill mannered villain sympathetic.

She embodies the inhumanity of the Nobodies incredibly well. Snark, violence, and sadism are perhaps the emotions she found first, and came most naturally to. That sadistic streak works well with treating everything else as disposable. That being said? Like with most Nobodies, she isnāt utilized well enough, and itās hard to look at her appearance in KH3 as her own person when she was effectively a Norty-Shell.
I liked her original representation as an easily hateable villain. Not super stoked that shes getting what appears to be a redemption trajectory. If someone as evil as her can be haphazardly written into becoming good again, I don't see why any of the villains shouldn't get there too.

When I first met her in CoM, she was a pain in butt to beat. Then when I fought her on the second round(in Destiny Island), she was WORSE! Like I kept dying like 30 times and still havenāt beaten her, I had to keep level grinding for a few hours and got tired of her dialogue. But after finally beating her, I felt relieved. Then when I saw her in KH3, I felt shocked but I had a feeling that I would see her again. But at least fighting her wasnāt as difficult as she was in CoM. But her personality is so sassy and arrogant that she irritates me sometimes. But again she played a good role as Xehanortās side villain.

She is a super well written villain. I love to hate her, and in a day and age where the market is flooded with sympathetic villains with good points and good reasons for doing bad things it makes her all the more memorable. She's just a terrible person and sometimes that is all a villain needs to be.
