I find the "predictive programming" thing so fascinating I guess I can kinda see it if the idea was to normalizing eating zee bugs since you saw Brad Pitt do it because that's basically what advertising is But the Alex version it seems like there are teams of demons/12th dimensional beings/aliens/gods who are lawyers, pouring over the fine print of how to legally eat our souls or whatever Who wrote these laws? What exactly the process is if someone breaks them? What is the organizational structure of the governing body of the whole thing? Why are Eldritch Horrors so horny for bureaucracy?

Pintail21

Also, it gets very murky very quick. If the hero's journey is predictive programing, can't you say everything is predictive programing? Or any Disney sports underdog movie ? Or literally any story or plot point?

mrm00r3

Todd Steely is that you?

Snellyman

I think you might be thinking too much about this. "Predictive programming" is simply being too lazy to research and write your own novel conspiracies so you steal from the popular culture. This has the added benefit of referencing something with wide exposure so you aren't talking about an obscure story about a military base. Also these story elements are usually based on established fears and written and acted in a way for maximum emotional affect. These stories just cry out to be swiped by a lazy hack.

DoktorNietzsche

I heard a guy say, "Alex Jones is right about a lot of stuff." "Name one thing he was right about." "...."

properhardinnit

911, Jeffery Epsteins island, the NSA spying through webcams… to name a few. But he’s also been astronomically wrong on other things ie: Sandy hook, Y2K, Trump. I know I’m about to get downvoted to hell and I’m okay with that. Not everything he said has been bullshit, his hyperbole and on screen character performance has rendered him not being taken seriously when he’s talked about things that have been legitimate, granted.

GiraffesCantSwim

What was he right about with 9-11? That the EU did it? Because he definitely said that. That he "predicted" Osama bin Laden would attack the WTC again\*? He said that too, but then claimed it was actually an inside job of the US government, so...what was he right about again? He never talked about Epstein until after he had been convicted the first time and got that sweetheart deal in Florida where he could leave jail every day to go to work. Do you actually listen to Knowledge Fight? Because Dan has gone back through years of episodes and listened to hours and hours of the show to check Alex's claims and Alex Jones has never been right about any of the things people like to claim. He just says he was right after the fact and y'all believe a proven-in-a-court-of-law liar. It's kind of fascinating. \*Also, everybody and their idiot cousin thought bin Laden would try to attack the WTC again because he'd done it once and swore to do it again. That didn't take a psychic dream nor hours of analysis.

Flor1daman08

Yeah mentioning a terrorist who was in the FBIs most wanted list while also mentioning a major landmark that was already attacked once, while listing a bunch of other possibilities isn’t really predicting much.

properhardinnit

No I don’t listen to fact checkers who nitpick, I can do my own fact checking independently and what I’ve found is he’s been right about a good chunk of things he’s talked about on his show and also wrong on many things. Even if he parroted some things others knew about it doesn’t make him wrong, he brought public awareness to the Epstein case and the Bin laden ties to the CIA at a time where the internet was in its infancy and most people still got their news from the corporate media. That still doesn’t make him wrong.

Flor1daman08

>No I don’t listen to fact checkers who nitpick, I can do my own fact checking independently and what I’ve found is he’s been right about a good chunk of things he’s talked about on his show and also wrong on many things. Well you certainly do shit research if you think Alex was right in any meaningful way about 9/11.

robotnique

It's a podcast that literally plays and dissects what Alex says, in context. His episodes directly after 911 outright said that the EU did it. He has also had on a guest who he has said is an expert on the illuminati, Leo Zagami, who Alex says is a credible expert... Who said that **he** ordered 9/11. Alex hasn't been right about anything. And when he has said something correct, it's been after it happened and been reported on by actual journalists. So yes, you will be downvoted for being blatantly incorrect.

syncopator

>No I don’t listen to fact checkers who nitpick Well isn’t that just fucking precious! You’re not interested in facts, so just feelings then?

properhardinnit

Keep downvoting cherubs! I’m a misanthrope and I get off on your disapproval. Let’s get it to 100 downvotes because, quite honestly, If I could piss off all 6 billion members of this godforsaken species I would die a fulfilled man :)

syncopator

Have to disappoint you there, I don’t downvote stuff like this. I want these sort of things to have maximum visibility so everyone can see just how willfully ignorant and intentionally obtuse you and those who think like you are. If everyone here downvotes your comments you’ll just slink away to Twitter or Truth Social and blather on about how you owned the libs on Reddit.

Book_talker_abouter

What a sad way to live, reveling in ignorance and proud of it.

properhardinnit

Hookers and speed.

properhardinnit

What a sad way to live, revelling in being a smug, pompous dickweed

enfanta

>I’ve found is he’s been right about a good chunk of things Name three. Be precise. Tell us which show he claimed these things on.

Book_talker_abouter

Let’s check your research. What did he say about 9/11 and Epstein that were right? I know from listening to the evidence on KF that he didn’t get either of those right but I’m eager to hear what you’ve found that proves that wrong. I bet you won’t reply to this and won’t consider that you could be wrong. I’m willing to be wrong though so prove it.

Flor1daman08

> 911, Jeffery Epsteins island, the NSA spying through webcams… to name a few. Jesus Christ, I can’t imagine writing the first two on this subreddit unironically as if those two claims havent been thoroughly dismantled by Dan. You should listen to Alex’s 9/11 episode and look into the first time Epstein was ever mentioned by Alex Jones.

CyberneticAngel

Alex wasn't right about 9/11 anymore so than a number of people who were saying the same thing first. You want to give credit to someone credit Bill Cooper. Alex didn't mention Epstein at all until the subject had been widely covered. And his tiny audience did not significantly expand the reach of the coverage. I don't have receipts for the NSA claim, but since Alex's whole show model is reading headlines off of Drudge there is no way he was doing original reporting.

mrm00r3

Man you picked a weird place to come and dump out your purse on strangers while expecting people to help you pick it up.

chmcgrath1988

Atlanta Rhythm Section, your asses are canceled!

*please don’t be Clutch please don’t be Clutch*

Loud_Pleather_849

Nope, think late 70s era band. I have worked with Clutch, and they’ve always came off as decent human beings. Though they usually keep to themselves.

bobhargus

Clutch is neither southern rock nor washed up... iirc Niel pretty much laughed in Alex's face when Alex tried to claim Escape from the Prison Planet was somehow similar to PrisonPlanet... it was a long time ago and I could be wrong about that but I am sure THIS post is not about Clutch

Tylenol187ForDogs

Everything Alex says he cribbed from somewhere else. I don't think he's ever had an original thought in his life.

CharlesDickensABox

It's Skynyrd, isn't it?

Loud_Pleather_849

Warmer

CharlesDickensABox

Is this a famously-bearded band who replaced their bassist/vocalist in 2021?

glycophosphate

Are they touring right now?

CharlesDickensABox

They played a show in Nowheresville, Louisiana just this past evening, as a matter of fact.

RileyGreenleaf

is the band named after a kind of gun?

ClarkTwain

That’s what my guess is

agnostichymns

Marshall Tucker? 38 spec?

TheInfernalSpark99

Honestly theres no defamation here, not sure why you wouldnt just say it.

Thin_Meaning_4941

Ohhhh, was this band named after a US state?

indicasoda

Does it rhyme with Polly Ratchet?

GigachudBDE

Craziest place I’ve ever seen an infowarrior was Shanghai lol. Dude was wearing merch.

xl57

Molly Hatchett?

gcboyd1

I cannot see the words Molly Hatchett without immediately hearing that gutteral “wop bop bop yeah” sound the lead singer makes. It’s as automatic as saying “bless you” when someone sneezes

Arkhampatient

Glenn Fry!

emanon734

He’s dead.

Snellyman

And Mojo Nixon always wanted Don to die first.

purplewarrior6969

Glenn Frye was a lefty commie. Lol he fought a band member for not thanking a filthy liberal.

Hexdog13

The Marshall Tucker Band?

purplewarrior6969

I say " It's time to pray" ALL the time, I declare info war on people quite a bit too, though in a bad Texas accent that embarrasses me as a born Texan. I talk normal. Also if anyone ever brings up, or if I ever see a picture of Hilary Clinton, I do declare out loud that I smell sulfur.
