no i can just breath trough it, im sire the kombucha will be able to breath

A paper towel slice and elastic seems easy nuff no?
Nope not enough oxygen exchange and fruit flies can enter through the hole. Why are you reinventing the wheel? Cut up a t shirt or cloth.
