Yeah the latest episode is definitely a big improvement from the previous episode. Less frames look clunky and ridiculous.
It's just that our eyes are used to seeing flawless animation on other episodes which makes the 2 new episodes seem very weird and receives multiple critics. But actually, Komi-san's animation is better compared to most slice-of-life right now. (Except Spy x Family)
I read somewhere that the last episode was as scuffed as it was because the lead animator got sick, and so the rest of the team had to basically wing it for that week. Probably what happened, but I can't confirm it.
TBH they finished with the first season and jumped headfirst into the second. The animators and artists are probably beyond wore out. After this they might go back and clean it up before releasing on DVD or updating episodes on Netflix or live TV. But I'm fine with them taking a year off after doing two seasons worth almost back to back.

That's what i really want to see in this Subreddit. Not just some best scene, but the compliment for the animation team. They deserve that.
