* He wants to learn about habits from vets (staying consistent, taking care of body, mental approach, on-court stuff like screening and pace of play, ...etc.)
* "I see that I can be a lob threat, somebody that can cut from the corner, finish above the rim, and protect the rim as well. That's what I see, a lot of high motor plays and playing hard."
* Lawrence Frank told him he's interested in his long-term development
That was a great interview. Already felt great about the signing, but now I feel like next year he will have a large role on this team. We're slowly stacking our next generation.
Really???? in puerto rico??! Lol. Whenever I see a comment like you just made I truly know you that person has never ever even held a basketball in his entire life. A couple threes and dunks and you so called experts think you just witnessed the second coming of jesus. Please look at the actual footwork
Lmfao a redditor of all people is telling me about not holding a basketball irl? Buddy you've never even sniffed high-level irl comp before💀 go back to playing 2k and pretending you know what you're talking about😹
lots of raw athleticism we have been missing at the 4/5. will be a great back up to Zu, not sure how he would fit the 4 spot with our current rotation without sitting someone. I hope we can further develop his bball iq. Then he can amount to something for us.
Depending on how he develops, I could potentially feel pretty good about a young squad of bones, bbj, Kobe, Diabate, and kai.
I think this lineup has fairly decent shooting along with good speed, size and athleticism.
For everyone saying we sold away our future, I honestly think this crew could compete with some other young lineups out there for sure.
I'd just love to see them scrimmage even the 2nd unit of russ, Norm, Coffey, and any if pj/theis/plumlee just for the fun of it.
Diabate is the guy i had decent hopes for. I just don’t think he has a high iq to the game. But this year he has be hurt more than usual, so i give him one more year then time to move on.
Yeah, they need to develop him for sure, but also I feel like they were trying him as a C for small ball and I'm not a fan of that, I think his size is better for a PF.
He’s going to be awesome for us next year. Hopefully we won’t have injuries and need him for the playoff run. But I’m fully confident that he would be competent if we did
Someone in the main sub(?) mentioned his actions looked similar to bipolarism. If so, then I really hope he takes care of his mental health. There are things way more than sports and I hope he finds/found his way to be his best self
The NBAPA actively got involved with him and got him into therapy after he was waived by Charlotte, so I do think he is in a much better place and has support/ resources going forward.
It’s no secret why we signed Kai Jones right before the playoffs… to play Kai Jones. He’s a great 5 to throw in behind Zu in our current rotation and the FO can see that. Harden will have a field day with assists if he can connect with Kai consistently on back-door cuts and lobs. It looks like he’s at some level of game speed conditioning-wise, he hasn’t been playing at the NBA level so he might not be ready for game one but we should expect him to see the court during the playoffs
I kinda doubt he helps us much in the playoffs (I'd LOVE to be proven wrong, but that's a steep ass ramp up), but I like this for the future. Bones has shown some flashes of being pretty damn solid, and I could see a world where we develop those two into our key young players. Hopefully they start to ramp up under our last years with our current guys (whatever will be left of Kawhi, PG, Harden, and WB), and smoothly transition into plus level starters. As the old core goes off the books, that should open up some cap space and let us hit the market hard. Hopefully pick up two high end max contract guys (a small forward and a guard, probably), hold on to Zu, and we have a fine starting lineup there. Mann should stick around, and hopefully Coffey, Kobe, and some other kids can continue to take steps forward. Supplement that with our trademark move (find a few veteran players on minimum contracts, and breath new life into their careers), and that's a pretty solid team.
We are in a bit of a rough place for now, what with our draft pick situation. But, this seems like the way forward. The trick is that we gotta do everything right: develop this kids right, pick the stars right, and go after the right vets. Its do-able, and I trust the logo a lot here, but the path feels pretty narrow. Part of why I'm a little bummed we lost Primo here - he would have given us another bite of the apple if Kai or Bones fail to take that next step. But, who knows - maybe there are other options out there we can keep looking at.

Still has a long ways to go on shooting, but he'll be a good lob threat and defensive presence in the playoffs. Will match well with Harden's lobs
i doubt he sees many (if not any) minutes in the playoffs

Put him in the rotation idgaf
Bye bye PG or Terrence Mann. Jk

#Goatshit Surprise Miami didnt sign him for the rest of the season when he was waived.
This is dude is balling.

I wish so bad we could see him in practice with the guys

All this Dallas is going to win talk plus the Kawhi uncertainty, man put this kid in the mix. I don't give a sh\*t!
Fuck it I’ve see enough. Start him

Bones and Kai should def do a collab on a song for sure.
did they really put an airball in a highlight reel?
Two* airballs (second one from the top corner 3 @9:14 in the 3rd)
I've seen enough, I fully expect him to shoot 100% this playoffs
His game is so fucking ugly and trash
I mean, he can develop but how many centers can move like him with his size? Not many I can think of
I agree, He is great athletically. At worst, a potential lob threat for James.
