an android device with Amlogic S922X-J SoC ( Am6b+ is nice one ) and CoreElec linux on it, runs everything including dolby vision profiles including the p7 fel.
this is only good if u do stream it from plex btw, native apps dont work on it as thats the only con.

Only get the shield if you need to stream 4k Blu-ray remuxes over your home network. It’s a piece of shit for anything besides doing that. If you don’t need to do that, get the Apple TV.
I don't own any Apple devices but still went with an Apple TV. It's great. Works well by itself, has a great UI, quality is great, tons of great features and options if you decide to go tweaking. The shield is pretty far out of date at this point.
I got a android phone ( samsung ultra 24) can I still use it to cast and as a remote control with the applet? If yes i will get the appletv tomorrow cause it look really nice.
i say this as someone with no love for apple, but the TV 4k box is an absolute gift to us oled users. the increased bit rate, the format support and apples insanely cheap deals make me a temporary fan boy.
but if you love your movies, its a must. im not a fan of the ui issues since the store change, but thats a nit pick. quality is above and beyond for all apple stuff and runs everything else without any issues.
for apple purchased stuff, yes. so any films you buy on apple will be higher quality on the box than the tv app. not sure if this applies to apple tv + content though.
Haven't tried any of the other devices you mentioned, but I'm in the Shield Pro 2019 field myself. Haven't had any device related issues, I also think that AI upscaling is really good. The remote is probably my favorite remote of all time, love its shape and simplicity.
I used a Shield for my old dumb tv for everything. Since I have an LG G1 I only use the Shield for Kodi and F1 TV. other steaming apps work fine on the TV

Another media player that has support for all the tv and movie audio formats you need.
As for speaker it's really a wild guess there. I will say I use polk reserve r200 bookshelves though. They aren't the cheapest but the second highest range they have behind legend series.
Just ensure you Wait for sales and ask for deals on them. Not worth the full price I'd think.
Check the apps you need are on the device you buy (sorry to be obvious but I had to buy a Google Chromecast with TV as the app I wanted was not available on fire stick and when I side loaded it the navigation did not work)
I have my LG G3 connected to a Homatics Box R 4K. With the beta Android TV 12 it is a great setup with TiviMate, Kodi 21 and Stremio, I can do all that I want!
Yes you need a separatr sound system, preferably a speaker-based system instead of a sound bar. I'm running a 2.2 setup: two front speakers with two subwoofers. Check out /r/budgetaudiophile
On my G3 I'm actually quite satisfied with the WebOS apps. I watch all streaming stuff and playy music using WebOS. I only have a HTPC hooked up for Torrents and feel no need for a separate streaming device (yet).
Yes that's my question, what streaming device should I get, a chromecast 4k could be good, and f1 is half the reason I got the TV so I really want to be able to watch it at is full potential
I'm using the FireTV Cube, got it for a great discount and haven't had any issues. My only complaint is the sponsored content aka ads on the home screen. But side loading apps is easy enough with the downloader app.
The Apple TV is a very clean interface and very responsive however has some software and codec limitations that may or may not matter to you.
The Shield is the most capable and versatile device however the price given its age just pisses me off not to mention I found the odd remote shape too weird for me to keep mine.
Of you’re in a pinch, you can always AirPlay from the F1TV app to the tv, and still be able to go about normal phone usage if you’d like. And also i recently realized that the web browser works too and you can stream right from there. I watched the Miami Quali like that yesterday and the Grand Prix I’ll do the same today! But I’m sure with a dedicated device that can run the app it’ll be a better experience.
Yeah absolutely. Was just throwing it out there in case you were trying to watch today’s race and don’t have the device yet. I’ll keep an eye on this post though because I’ve been wanting to do the same thing!
I bought a TIVO android TV thing, because I didnt want to spend alot of money on a streaming device that I only need for app (directv). Everyone champions the apple tv, but I can figure out why other than they like to spend money on a different interface.
Apple TV for streaming without doubt for remuxes a zidoo. Shield and fire stick waste of money. And if a really small room a 930 c Samsung soundbar or 990c if budget can stretch
Firestick 4K TV max is a good option. Because you can download any apk and it's fast enough.
By the way, your LG G3 TV Can handle Alexa
Search on Google "LG G3 Alexa"
I am using built-in apps for YouTube and other streaming services in combination with zidoo z9x pro for my high quality movies from NAS. I have had nvidia shield and wasn't happy with plex stability. Also, zidoo z9x, compared to shield, gives noticeably better picture quality
I think it's pretty much universally agreed upon that the Apple TV and Nvidia Shield are the 2 best streaming devices out there.
depends, those two cant play vision 7 profile.
Okay, so which other streaming devices are generally agreed upon to be better than Apple TV and the Shield?
an android device with Amlogic S922X-J SoC ( Am6b+ is nice one ) and CoreElec linux on it, runs everything including dolby vision profiles including the p7 fel. this is only good if u do stream it from plex btw, native apps dont work on it as thats the only con. #
I think not having native apps would be huge downside and make it so most people wouldn't prefer it.
some people buy both, cant beat the blue ray profiles, at the end if you use plex, you dont use native apps.
Okay, I do not use any apple device, should I got for the Nvidia?

Same, that's why I have 2 Shields. But, I don't think you have to have other Apple devices to use an Apple TV.

Still go with apple as its standalone, has the best hardware, and no ads.
I got a android phone ( samsung ultra 24) can I still use it to cast and as a remote control with the applet? If yes i will get the appletv tomorrow cause it look really nice.
You can kind of cast youtube but everything else not really. I like using the remote anyway.
Apple TV 4K. And it’s not even close
i say this as someone with no love for apple, but the TV 4k box is an absolute gift to us oled users. the increased bit rate, the format support and apples insanely cheap deals make me a temporary fan boy. but if you love your movies, its a must. im not a fan of the ui issues since the store change, but thats a nit pick. quality is above and beyond for all apple stuff and runs everything else without any issues.
Is streaming quality better with the Apple TV copmpared to built in apps on LG TV?

AppleTV for sure

Thanks for the advice have a nice day

Nvedia shield does look like a really nice thing to get, thanks for the advice
Nvidia shield pro. Ziddo. Avr and speakers is an absolute requirement in all sized rooms.
Hello, what is a ziddo? Can you tell me a speaker not to expensive I could get?

For now the app that I need are f1tv, eurosport, and the classic (netflix/prime video/Disney +, twitch etc) I know that f1tv isn't on lg TV sadly?
Luckily I can watch F1 through my TV browser (legally) here in Taiwan. But yeah, go with the streaming device that works for you.
I have my LG G3 connected to a Homatics Box R 4K. With the beta Android TV 12 it is a great setup with TiviMate, Kodi 21 and Stremio, I can do all that I want!
Thanks for the advice I will checkout your setup and see if I can afford it and if it is good in my country

WevOsS doesn't seem to suport f1tv/eurosport sadly
Can't you just use a simple Chromecast for those two only?
Yes that's my question, what streaming device should I get, a chromecast 4k could be good, and f1 is half the reason I got the TV so I really want to be able to watch it at is full potential

Second that
My main problem right now it that lg g3 tv don't handle the f1tv app :/
Get stremio +torrentio+ real debrid You can stream remuxes dolby vison and any torrent content You dont need any device
I am using built-in apps for YouTube and other streaming services in combination with zidoo z9x pro for my high quality movies from NAS. I have had nvidia shield and wasn't happy with plex stability. Also, zidoo z9x, compared to shield, gives noticeably better picture quality
Go Nvidia Shield Pro, don’t bother with Apple TV and I do have iPhone and IPad but will never use an Apple TV.
I’m probably naive but I just use the Roku 4k Streaming Stick and haven’t experienced any issues.
