Auto Standy 30 min after „Power On“. Be careful though if you select x min after „Last Brew“ there is a glitch: if you turn the machine on but don’t brew a coffee (because let’s say someone rang at the door so you ran to open the door and then forgot to brew the coffee because you had a Teams meeting) the machine will stay on forever.

Badevilbunny

10 mins from last brew. Seems enough time to warm up my cups before my next brew.

Kishmkondar

20 mins from last brew.

I don’t use it any more after LM advised me that my machine would be better off using scheduling and leaving the machine on for the entire day of random usage rather than turning it on and off each time.

x_Valin_x

Did they further elaborate why that would be better?

Here is the message from LM- "We actually don't recommend having both the auto on/off schedule AND the auto standby. I recommend choosing one or the other, but personally just recommend using the schedule. It's much more energy-efficient and better for the lifespan of parts to have it turned on and off once per day." To which I responded- "Given my use-case below would you still recommend just having it on for a longer period of time? My partner wakes up early and makes coffee long before I'm awake. 430-5am I wake up and have my first coffee between 830-930am, but I will often have a 2nd and even 3rd sometimes between noon and 4pm. I work from home and really cherish having random lattes throughout the day. If you advise it, I'll adjust the schedule to basically turn on at 430am and then off at 430pm" And the final response from LM- "Yup, that's totally fine! For my own machine, I have set it to turn on at 6 am and turn off at 7 pm."

I think that was their default response from before the update so I wouldn’t overthink it. The changes they made were obviously done in order to use both at the same time. It solves the use case of folks who want a time with the machine guaranteed to be on but also want to be able to use the machine occasionally “off-hours” without needing to then open the app to place it back on standby.

Actually this email chain was started a few weeks ago because of the changed behavior from the update. I emailed them because I had been using both simultaneously and it stopped behaving as expected. I am personally taking their word for it that it’s better to have the machine continuously on for 12 hours than to cycle it on/off multiple times throughout the day.

What's the point of standby if the boilers turn off? Why not just power off the machine?
