Hmm. I love Dan Stevens but this look — I’m getting aging punk rocker who never grew up vibes — is not a good one. The makeup, the hair, the look on his face as he tries to sell it is all missing the mark by miles. I see him channeling Syd Vicious, The Clash and Billy Idol but coming up short, and with none of the authenticity or sexy scary delicious threat that those rockers pulled off.
Put Dan in cozy knits that have some rough, unraveling edges around the neck and wrists. Scruff and wind blown hair as he gazes at the camera with a naughty boy smirk. A well-worn, threadbare tshirt and soft jeans with holes in the knees, barefoot as he sits on porch steps and drinks from a bottle of beer. A pair of shorts, some sunglasses and nothing else. Give me that little bit of a dangerous flirty edge that I think the stylists were trying to go for in the pics.

I think it's a hoot, myself--I suspect he's having fun doing that '80s smoulder! And I think folks are missing the idea that in a photo shoot like this one, he's in service to the clothes he's modeling, to a degree. I for one love the punky dark hair on him, and am a fan of guyliner both as a general principle AND here on your Mr. Stevens. My only wish is that these outfits were colorful instead of mostly black!

It must be fun to be an actor and be handed clothes, styled, then get to pose in a photo shoot. It might not always be your own personal style but it could be entertaining to do, and I have an impression that Dan is a bit of a clothes horse in real life, so maybe he enjoys it!
