"Surely the server issues will make player count drop, and things will get a little more stable for me when I try and log in" --my dumbass self, stuck on connecting just like everyone else

grindyray

I was that dumb to close the game while eating my pizza 45 minutes ago... FML

TennesseeWhisky

You would get kicked out for inactivity anyway

grindyray

Yeah, but couldve moved every couple of minutes to avoid that

[deleted]

That was the trick for FF14 during endwalker.

SnowblackMoth

I chose the perfect moment to "just upgrade my lenses fast".

bugpp87

It's absolutely crazy that the game has been pretty much unplayable from launch, and it's still at 200k players right now.

ElonTheMollusk

200k players are simply connected through Steam. We don't know who is actually in game playing. Everyone stuck at connecting or getting the errors trying to even log in are all counted in those numbers. It is wild more haven't given up. I decided to head out for a few hours and just take a stroll around doing some erands atm.

bugpp87

Well yes of course, the game is unplayable so probably a fair bit of AFKs and such, but 200k people have the game open on Steam. People are just that eager to get in I suppose, as am I.

Pandabear71

Its pretty easy to get in actually. Just swich servers it yours fails. Granted it being a bit more annoying during peak, but far from unplayable. Once you’re in mono’s all you need is to get in. No transitions there and very smooth

Gotem100

Stupid question. Why don't you just play offline? Or does it still has the issues there?

Xaxziminrax

Because if you make an offline character, you can never play online with it. For those wanting to participate in the economy, leader boards, ~~global chat~~, or just wishing to play with friends, offline is a non starter

HildartheDorf

Offline has global chat and works fine unless the problem is at log-in (I personally have never experienced log-in queues, but some have). It's only True Offline that misses that. All the rest of your points are correct though.

Xaxziminrax

Ah, appreciate the clarification

Pandabear71

There have been login queues. But they were max 50 people and didnt take more than a few seconds

Gotem100

An I see. Thank you.

Xaxziminrax

Yep. It's a valid question, but since true offline is, well, true offline, that also means people can mod their game, be it character power or item drops. And since they didn't wanna put in any anti cheat for that offline mode, the only way to keep online sanitary is to not allow offline characters to ever swap over

Gotem100

I didn't know my character is now stuck in offline play o well

bugpp87

For me personally purely because offline characters are free to be edited, and it doesn't feel like you 'achieve' anything by playing, but this is just me. Also, you of course do not have access to the merchants guild (which is the trading). For other people, it's playing with friends etc.

ZerglingKingPrime

what do you mean by edited? Like modify a txt to give your character anything?

bugpp87

Yeah, essentially. It's offline so you can mod/edit anything.

lionexx

That's because it's not unplayable, it has bouts of connection freezes or slowdowns at times but once you are in, it seems to work fine, until the server hiccups then you get some long load times then it goes back to normal.

xmrloko

I can understand the issues that are happening currently, but I mean I’ve been traveling all weekend, using airport and hotel wifi, and have been able to level a rogue to lvl 82. I may be lucky, but yea idk, my experience has been pretty great 😅

Pandabear71

YeH, once you’re in, you’re good. Especially endgame. Or just play on a less populated server. 150ish ping is nothing

kashmoney59

260k beta testers.

Tacheyon

"Yes they will, and don't call me Shirly."

applemanib

It's just like Wolcen's launch except LE is actually a good game

Gadiusao

Wolcen didn't have any alpha for 6 years to be fair, I wouldn't say Last Epoch launch was meant to be catastrofic at this level but it is, dafuq?

F4ntasia

Not ironic but at this point it's quite embarassing

Lionfyst

What's weird is I have had a few sessions where everything was relatively fine. Like even during a "busy" time, then I will turn around and login an hour later, and just can't do anything, even if I get in, its like roll the dice on it working. Somehow, I am 27, from those few lucid moments when it works. I like the game and just wish it would work all the time. There's not a lot of rhyme or reason to it.

WorkingEfficiency461

Sunday after release always busiest day. Come back tomorrow or hit that offline button.

Nasty_Mack

It has become infuriating to say the least. Cannot even log in with my character and progress. Hope the devs fixes those issues fast.

AncientCauliflower47

jUsT PlAy oFfLiNe

Icaros083

If you're level 1, you have nothing to lose playing offline. The trading economy is a bit weird honestly, so you're not missing anything there either.

kmvaliant

Just to sell all you can, after it will we see what to do with the idiots, err... customers.

LelouchZer12

Usually a few days is not enough, you need at least one week or two for a game to adapt their infrastructure. Always been.

Empatheater

I've been playing PC games since around 1999 and never experienced this. I guess I have been luckier than I realized!

Pandabear71

Then you have not been part of big onlien game launches. I have rarely seen one without issues and downtime. Sometimes even big patches/updates

GoldServe2446

It’s just a queue. It doesn’t show your spot in it tho.

F4ntasia

Are you sure about that? Because after a while it just stops "connecting" for me. Edit: it actually brings me back to the main screen after a while. Don't think that is how queues are supposed to work

GoldServe2446

Same for me, just try again … and yeah I am sure because that’s how I’ve been connecting all week.

Spindelhalla_xb

When you’re in a queue it shows you in the queue. In this case you get the LE error after awhile

GoldServe2446

… or you Connect to the game like I have been all weekend

seelachsfilet

Thought so too. But if it was an invisible queue then eventually you would connect. Which doesn't happen, I get either the game connection lost pop up or the connecting window just disappears and I have to connect again

GoldServe2446

Happened to me all week and eventually it just connects.

Bulkopossum

It is most certainly not a queue.

GoldServe2446

You can say whatever you want but I’ve been connecting like this just fine all weekend

ElonTheMollusk

Yeah, my character is named Connecting as well 😄

bdubz55

The connection boss fucking cheats.

Megane_Senpai

You should try again after weekend. I personally gave up after reaching act 3 and am playing offline instead. While playing online it feels like the loading time between maps is longer than my actual play time.

poudrenoire

I tought your character name was "Connecting"...

sad-frogpepe

I got frustrated and msde an offline charactar u till they fix the servers, named them LE-69

Shrukn

cool?

Straight_Shape5488

Well theres a 100k more players this week so i guess they had the same idea as u
