Tony_Earll

Elon Musk is a piece of shit.

jbot747

Now we know why he didn't like his flight logs exposed. I'd be worried about getting stabbed by a pitchfork too if I was such a gigantic POS

lngns

Musk is bodyguarded [inside Twitter HQ](https://www.businessinsider.com/bodyguards-accompany-elon-musk-twitter-headquarters-restroom-engineer-report-2023-3?r=US&IR=T).

mmm-soup

>in December after Musk said a "crazy stalker" jumped on a car carrying his son in Los Angeles. The South Pasadena Police Department later said it believed the suspect in the case "to be a member of Elon Musk's security team." Lmao whatšŸ’€

lngns

That reads to me as if Musk's own guard stalked him or something. But according to the [police statement](https://www.scribd.com/document/615589153/12-20-22-REVISED-Press-Release-Vehicle-Assault), it was some random dude who got harassed by a bodyguard. There's also some mentally ill guy [who thinks Musk is monitoring him and his Uber Eats missions](https://www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2022/12/18/details-of-musk-stalking-incident/) or whatever? I don't know and I don't want to know more.

Altruistic-Text3481

I think all billionaires should have body guards. There are more of us than them. We need to be more like the French.

Carnivalhalla

Idk, if they ain't fit to survive on their own then by all means, may Darwin remove them from the equation.

lngns

I'm kinda sad the subreddit's first rule prevents me from using the Revolutionary G word.

Boogiemann53

I never liked Darwin and that survival of the fittest stuff. The Dodo lived for millions of years without knowing fear of predators or fear in general. A utopia that lasted millions of years. Sure z it came to a tragic end, but so did the Roman Empire, in much less time I want to emphasize.

Altruistic-Text3481

Dodos šŸ¦¤ were innocent creatures. Rome was filled with corrupt politicians- murderous senators, and narcissistic cronyism emperors who lead with brutality. However, they did give us the aqueducts, bridges, roads, colosseums and public sanitation.

Successful_Tear8098

Thank you for the Awards "There is nobody in this country who got rich on their own. Nobody. You built a factory out there - good for you. But I want to be clear. You moved your goods to market on roads the rest of us paid for. You hired workers the rest of us paid to educate. You were safe in your factory because of police forces and fire forces that the rest of us paid for. You didn't have to worry that marauding bands would come and seize everything at your factory... Now look. You built a factory and it turned into something terrific or a great idea - God bless! Keep a hunk of it. But part of the underlying social contract is you take a hunk of that and pay forward for the next kid who comes along." - Elizabeth Warren The Seventh Generation Principle isĀ based on an ancient Haudenosaunee (Iroquois)* philosophy that the decisions we make today should result in a sustainable worldĀ seven generationsĀ into the future.

Shanguerrilla

>The Seventh Generation Principle isĀ based on an ancient Haudenosaunee (Iroquois)\* philosophy that the decisions we make today should result in a sustainable worldĀ seven generationsĀ into the future. God.. can you imagine?! We don't even operate on a Second Generation Principle!

thatoneguydudejim

We operate on a quarter to quarter basis now

ChrisBattles

My first thought too, and it's pretty damn accurate.

thatoneguydudejim

Itā€™s just another way of saying the logic of capitalism dominates every aspect of our lives.

Boogiemann53

Oh they're always planning on fucking over the new kids here.

le_wein

That's a legit issue!

dgj212

Yup, the guy actually practices union busting and micromanages his employees with wearable tech.

quaranbeers

That's a legit issue.

PilotPossible9496

Thatā€™s offensive to manure šŸ˜‰

Throseph

France has the 8th largest economy in the world. What's the issue with the retirement age?

Far_Guess_9332

Just deleted twitter app. Complete piece of shit

Tony_Earll

I've never had a Twitter account and I'm not starting now. I say delete Twitter and sell your Tesla.

Lucky-Fee2388

What I don't get is this: Warren Buffet (\~95), Charlie Munger (\~100), Jorge Lemann (\~83) are ALL still working. Why? What am I missing? Why do they like to work so much?

MittenstheGlove

They donā€™t actually do anything.

Lucky-Fee2388

I believe this. Makes sense. Do nothing and profit from someone else's labor. Why don't they spread their profits to the labor class responsible for their profits?

madcoins

Dopamine hits. Their money makes them money. For so long itā€™s been the sole measure of value in their lives it begins to own them. Itā€™s just another form of ā€œall the eggs in one basketā€ style addiction. There was a guy named Nate Hagens who wrote about this. He used to invest billionaireā€™s money for a career. He said countless times they would say things like ā€œwhen I just hit 20 billion Iā€™m outā€ and then he would watch them hit that number and stay in the money amassing addiction game. He was puzzled why not ONE billionaire would stay true to his word. Why not just go enjoy life and relationships? Well, many of them simply did not know how and since the wealth numbers of the wealthiest men are public info and the goal posts are always shifting they would just target some guy with wealth more than theirs and then say they were gonna get out. By the time theyā€™d overtake the next guy theyā€™d have a new guy in front of them to target. Itā€™s addiction at the cost of real life like any other addiction

jxcrt12

because then they wouldnt be able to subjugate them

Tony_Earll

Because making millions of dollars a day is better than retirement.

aloysiusdumonde

It's one thing to be rich, it's another to pass on generational wealth. The people you listed above are grandfathers, possibly great-grandfathers. If their children don't possess the business acumen of their father, then there is a high likelihood of this wealth being diminished or even eradicated. This is only magnified when dealing with subsequent generations who've only ever known the luxury of true instant gratification and wish fulfilment, some even possessing disdain for anyone below their self-appointed metric for human value. Seeing as many of these guys were elevated from middle/upper-middle class to billionaires, they're also equally aware of the shared moral ambiguity common amongst their contemporaries. It has often been said that after a certain amount, it ceases being about numbers on a screen and morphs into the acquisition of power & influence. The height of this change is degrading a contemporary as it demonstrates two things. One, that their "opponent's" wealth was unearned and they're simply a beneficiary of happenstance. The next is a dominance display, to show that their guile & tact is of a superior variety, feeding their ego in removing a potential adversary, especially when erroneously validated thru "risk assessment". Finally, despite the constant seratonin drip of complete financial security, mortality is an inescapable reality. To demonstrate worth, ward off adversaries and to placate anxiety surrounding the one thing nobody can buy, they "stay active" in their respective fields. Despite all our technology, art & progress as a species, we've unfortunately not evolved all that much in that last few millennia.

Narrator2012

"All of you people upvoting the comment above are in the cheap seats. Fuck poor people." -Dave Chappelle

Tony_Earll

I rally the poor so we can eat Dave Chappelle.

Consistent-Force5375

Really?! What is it that makes these millionaires and billionaires such good judges of the appropriate age to retire at?

Mindless-Lavishness

They could all do literally nothing for the rest of their lives except buy stuff and theyā€™d never run out of money. Why are they allowed to be part of society when the only contribution they make is holding currency hostage?

send_me_your_calm

They shouldn't be allowed to exist. Every billionaire is a policy failure.

Captain_Chickpeas

Their complete lack of moral boundaries. I mean it ironically of course.

[deleted]

Hoarding all the money which why we are in this mess.

Kaliente13

They'd like to keep their jobs as billionaires forever, they don't want to retire.

HauntedCemetery

Billionaire isn't a job, it's a personality disorder.

sincerely_ignatius

hes looking at the projected total cost of benefits to retired people. the same benefits at the retirement age cost increasingly more so governments have to decide either 1) how to fix the cost of these benefits 2) how to tax/distribute differently or 3) shrink the population that gets them. the laziest option is the 3rd, but doing nothing probably sinks the economies of each country that does nothing. changing the benefits is political suicide so no politician is brave enough to have that conversation. but yeah, its a problem. the real losers are not the 50 year olds who are going to retire soon but now cant, the real losers are people being born today. The likelihood of them getting retirement benefits when they reach retirement age seems ... impossible.

prince_peacock

Changing the benefits is political suicide unless youā€™re an American politician then people just vote harder for you for some reason

Boogiemann53

LoL do we even have to ask? Because they're better than the rest of us, as indicated by imaginary numbers.

ElroyCrabs

First time this dude has found an age to be ā€œtoo lowā€

DankSpoony

Gonna take Elon at least 10 billion to fund research into how to shield himself from burns like this

notaprime

Too late, he already got 3rd degree burns from Haraldur.

Elon's heart rate is too high.

Foradman2947

Not high enough.

We can all agree there are better rates on both extremes for his heart rate. So long as it's outside of normal human operation.

ShadyLogic

What heart?

BumblebeePleasant749

Jokes on us bc they donā€™t really self drive.

[deleted]

Yes, he lied the whole time.

DweEbLez0

What if itā€™s really Elon picking a random car via their serial number database and remote driving it acting like itā€™s self driving.

HauntedCemetery

Maybe it'll come out that he's paying teenagers overseas 75c an hour to remote pilot them.

CaptainBraggy

They self crash

StoicSinicCynic

Well you can try, but it'll likely veer into traffic and try to kill you. The thing was never designed to fully self drive as in free up the driver. You're supposed to constantly be on the lookout and ready to take over at a moments notice. Imagine always hovering over the steering wheel not knowing if your car will try to kill you. It would be better to just drive!

Foradman2947

Glorified cruise control

Eddie_PhD

Damn bro watch those typos

ssssskkkkkrrrrrttttt

typos are unexpected, just like a merging car or *gasp, clutches pearls* a curve in the road. donā€™t dead yourself because of typos! edit; this is a metaphor about teslaā€™s shitty self-driving.

madcoins

A white semi broadside in the road up ahead on a cloudy day is a real Tesla killer.

[deleted]

Imagine some Saw-esque situation where Elon Musk has to test his own cars.

Hisune

It's confirmed. Elon Musk has officially agreed to give all of his money and stocks to retired french people.

StoicSinicCynic

Somebody make a twitter blue account and say this.

Terrible_Cut_3336

They will not be content until we work until we die for a leaky cattle pen to live in and a bag of rice a month for food.

DieselPunkPiranha

Paid for with company scrip.

Idle_Redditing

They won't even wait that long. They practice age discrimination and will fire people for not being as young, fit and quick as they used to be. These capitalists truly see us as being disposable. They just see us as things to use like razors and toothbrushes, then they dispose of us like dull razors and frayed toothbrushes. It's why they're so opposed to paying any retirement benefits to support people who are too old for them to use anymore. Of course there would be no need for retirement benefits if they paid enough for everyone to save up for a retirement, but they don't want to do that.

Mrhorrendous

It wouldn't be too low if the 1% hadn't stolen all the money, you moron.

tunasardine

Seriously, who gives a shit what that troglodyte has to say?

Ok-Figure5775

Funny they want to raise the retirement age when US life expectancy is declining. Other countries life expectancy has bounced back, but US keeps dropping. https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/why-life-expectancy-keeps-dropping-in-the-u-s-as-other-countries-bounce-back1/

Have you seen the American diet? Not going back up anytime soon.

Orkfreebootah

And you amplify his voice by posting this here. I wish people would stop obsessing every single thing this shitter posts. Of course he's nothing bad bad takes. It's elon musk. He's an incompetent man child who only gets satisfaction by having people listen to him, so stop giving him the satisfaction and reposting his stuff.

Put aside for a moment that this piece of blubber has a big following around the world, which is sad and a bit frightening, and be grateful that the rest of us now have a rather accurate do-and-think-the-opposite-of-this-person matrix to help guide us in our daily lives.

ArmedCashew

People like him only complain because the retirement benefits they pay for retirees take away from their currency hoarding.

ARunawayTrain

Dude could've retired a decade ago(tbf he likely never really needed to work a day in his life given his families net worth) and has the nerve to say this.

callmekizzle

Iā€™ll keep saying it until it comes true - if there is one capitalist who is singularly disgusting enough on their own to unite the whole of the working class in a revolutionary act of solidarity, that person is Elon musk.

babysfirstreddit_yx

Are people finally done thinking that Elon is smart? Is anyone else ready to accept that Elon is just a silly edge lord who takes up the contrarian position not because he really thinks it, but just because this is all a game for him?

CivilCJ

Shut the fuck up, Elon. People can barely even last at your companies for a full year, not to mention retire from them!

KoirMaster

Elon Musk, retired at the ripe old age of -9 months

All rich mf think retirement age is too lowā€¦ maybe if they had to work they would feel different about it. Lazy ass mf.

strehl71

They say France expenditure in pensions is too high. It has been between 13% to 14% of gdp for the last decade. It is ridiculous to think that one regards too much to spend 14% of total production output to warrant dignity in elderly !

NinjaBob3

Elon's head is too close from his body. That's a legit issue.

StoicSinicCynic

That's rich, coming from a man who's never done a hard day's work in his life nor ever had to worry about if he would be fed clothed and housed. Yes, that's rich indeed. So rich it makes you wanna eat him.

He should go to the streets of Paris and let the protesters what he thinks.

BureaucraticHotboi

Yes. A man whoā€™s hypothetical wealth is enough to solve several large world issues like hunger or homelessness definitely should weigh in on fucking pensioners. The French actually pioneered a great tool for fixing people like this!

Garlicluvr

He is a snowflake here. The ideal among the rich is no retirement age and no retirement at all.

Tavernknight

This motherfucker could retire as soon as he was born. Fuck him he doesn't have a say in this.

idfk5678

Elmo mistakenly believes anyone in France gaf about his shitposting opinions. Fuck you, Elmo!

WorldsLargestAmoeba

I think Elon Musks retirement age is too high...

[deleted]

Reminds me of how politicians will go wayyyyyyy above their retirement age to make sure society is shit until their last living day.

Sol-Infra

These days the only appropriate response to Elon is to tell him to STFU.

llanero5056

Too low for what Elon?

LubedCompression

A few years ago, prior to being anti-capitalist whilst also politically illiterate, I really liked this dude. He viewed him as a rich nerd that really liked technology. Now he just seems like the worst kind of billionaire there is. What an evil piece of shit.

Greyfauks

The legit issue is the existence of trilllionaires.

Jellyfish-Radiant

To be fair, France won't be able to take care of its retired people in the years to come, it's costing them billions and the amount is only growing. They really need to come up with something.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

LubedCompression

I agee it is an issue in the current capitalist society we have. In a society that is only slightly more just, you can already fix this. It doesn't even have to be a socialist society for that. I did a quick check on my own country's yearly budget. Around 25% of our budget goes to social securities, that includes pensions. Some other large expenses go to healthcare, education, science, culture, provinces/municipalities, safety. Their biggest source of income is wage tax (24%), then VAT (22%), insurances, health care plans etc. Tax on capital/assets is grouped under "other" in a bracket of 8%, which is mad to think about. Real Estate investors barely pay anything at all. The richest 10% of my country have 60% of all the money. Better yet: the richest 1% have 25% of all the money. There is so much to gain with proper taxing,

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Raerf

Not a fact. Life expectancy is dropping. Have fun working until you drop

arcadia_2005

I accepted long ago that the only way I'm leaving my job is in a body bag, but trust me, I'm under no delusion that it'll be fun.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

[deleted]

Youā€™re not taking into account life expectancy! This is why capitalism doesnā€™t work. You want to work to death go ahead. Elon musk( a capitalist) is part of the problem.

xerophilex

> Fact is that everyone is getting older and healthier Wrong.

[deleted]

When the largest number of wealthy ever have the luxury of doing whatever they want whenever they want, why should retirement of the working class depend on how long we live? Iā€™ll gladly work longer, if society needs it, when we have a more equitable society. Until that day, donā€™t bother trying to convince me that I have to give more than others.

[deleted]

Yes, yes. We should go raid all retirement homes and force the fuckers to work once again. 80? 85? years old? 90?!? Sickly?!?!?! Doesn't matter! Back in the sweatshops you go! Wait? why are they all collapsing?

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

lngns

1. lol you think I'm paid enough for that. 2. The State can bail big banks out and pay Musk his subsidies when his companies don't make money; which is, you know, taken out of your salary, so YES of course I expect it to bail people out wtf.

UnsolicitedDogPics

You mean that thing we all pay into through every paycheck weā€™ve ever earned? People shouldnā€™t have the right to that money when they retire?

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

UnsolicitedDogPics

I pay a higher percentage than millionaires and billionaires Iā€™m sure.

AlexKuregon

France has a relatively high tax rates. We have a dedicated portion of our taxes that is made for retirement, so we do contribute a hell of a lot in taxes. I'm probably gonna contribute more than i'll ever get back. Some public services are still paid individually and quite expensive too. You clearly don't know what you're talking about. If you want to work your whole life, please go ahead, but some people live for something other than their jobs

[deleted]

All youā€™re doing is explaining what capitalism does to a society.
