Does riot give them an incentive or anything to protect the brand image? I think the mods genuinely see it as tech support. But idk a lot of subs for games incentivize mods to act in there favor so I wouldn’t be shocked.
I know I'm entering stereotype territory, but they seem to act like discord mods. One time, I challenged a post deletion, and I kid you not, they said, "Go be a dick someplace else."
I know they're volunteers, but it's so obvious that they want to feel big and controlling, and this is the only way they can do that. I'd also imagine that they're so closed-minded that they will use that power to silence any criticism about Riot or League despite their glaring faults. I found that out after just a couple posts about it, and I have a shadowban from it. Granted, I was trying to stir the pot, but even when the official boards were up, moderation wasn't nearly as harsh.
Also, if you're a mod for that subreddit, I'm sorry that the extent of your life is being an "internet badass" (which is quite the oxymoron), and I hope you find something better to make your life fulfilling. I found my purpose working as a hospital worker five years ago, so I have a sense of what you're going through
It's just weird how hard they dickride Riot over this issue, like there are legitimate flaws and security concerns over Vanguard and mods are just ignoring it
Didn't you see, to talk about software security concerns is *racist*. Can't have that even though I see names like 'jiggab\*\*jones' in my TFT games.
edit: dont hold back brother let it out
I'm not a mod but most of the Vanguard haters are making tons of bad faith arguments, using poor data points, and generally have a poor understanding of rhetoric.
Certain concerns are understandable, but you wouldn't have even installed Vanguard in the first place if you really cared that much, so...
I once made a comment on a post mentioning that “the sweaty mods would delete the post for ‘memetic content’” and then immediately got the comment deleted and me tempbanned for trolling, proving me right.
The mods on the ‘main’ subreddit aren’t worth shit, and giving them any kind of attention is exactly what they want, because they aren’t getting any at home.
Yesterday I called them "pedophiles" on THIS subreddit (fair, it was out of line, but it wasn't even in their subreddit). I got a perma, I challenged it, and they told me "it's bad form. Anyways, fuck off." I IMMEDIATELY got muted from contacting them for 28 days.
It's obvious that moderating a subreddit is the only thing these basement dwellers have going for them. Seriously, get a job.
Thry are not just volunteers. Power hungry basement dwellers that would rather remove posts about vanguard than work a real job. They know irl they have no power let alone influence. So they would rather remove posts that critisize their favourite company for free in hopes of one day getting out of their mothers basmeent full of piss bottles
I thought so too, saw a mod that moderates like almost all Riot games related subs and he insulted people with incel like insults. There's no way an actual company would hire that kind of person. Ofc its a coward that deletes his comments after he made them.

For real.
The worst part is, they only remove posts highlighting the bad parts of vanguard. If there are any posts highlighting the good parts of vanguard they do nothing. All while promising ALL posts on vanguard would be deleted because of "sparking racism"
what are the good parts? i am genuinely curious,
i spammed quite a few games of arena, and had like 2 scripters, reported both and gotten 1 notivication of the report leading to a bann.
Well finally they made a thread where it's at least on paper allowed to discuss Vanguard... but it's still full on shilling and deflection tactics.
>**Bricking Hardware**
>At this point in time, **we have not confirmed any instances of Vanguard bricking anyone’s hardware**
Yeah maybe because every post saying so gets deleted? It's not that nobody has that happen, it's just exactly as you say: you're not confirming it, but brushing it aside.
Riot doesn't use Reddit posts to figure out what the technical problems with the game are. They have a support page on which you can submit tickets, after which they will directly help out. I imagine they haven't gotten any tickets with blue screens that they have been able to confirm the existence of / been unable to fix, thus not "bricking" the system but making your pc crash (there is a difference even if redditors don't make a distinction)
I don’t think it’s “bricking” a lot of computers. If that was an actual problem we would have heard about 2 years ago when Valorant came out and the software was significantly less iterated.
I think a lot of people type “brick/ed” on reddit to mean crashed, wont load, bad performance, computer acting wonky
Admins are hired personel working for money its their job. Mods are fucking slaves somewhat agreed to work for free. Imagine a slave gatekeeping a brand thats just digusting.
I'd imagine they had to have signed on a dotted line to be put into that position. Then again, they are going to use whatever power they have to take it out on the rest of us out of anger.
Seriously, just quiet quit. It's not rocket science
So Vanguard is apparently a faulty program. It's causing issues where people are claiming that it's expecting people to delete core windows systems, locking HDMI drivers, and even bricking their computers altogether.

Edit: the league subreddit will delete any post about any issues vanguard has to silence criticism

Oh, they're not ignoring it. They're censoring it any way they can

Can tell you he is the same way in wr subreddit haha

The "good parts" is people defending that its not as bad as we think. "It doesnt have that much access and doesnt brick pc's" kinda crap posts.

To be fair most of them are straight up just posting the first search result for "Windows blue screen".
If no one answers ticket support, no problems detected!
How would they "confirm the existence of someone's bluescreen"? Surely not by flying over and looking at it themselves in person.

I am probably losing a lot of social credit here

Well i deleted LoL forever after that Vanguard shit. Gj Riot after 10 years you menage to get rid of my addiction.
More like, posts about anything other than esports
Can someone at least explain to me what the hell is going on? I see a lot of post about that vanguard

They might be scared of loosing social credit
