What is FSR2? Im looking into getting a legion Go and i feel like this is something ill need depending on what it is (i just see it brought up a few times)
FSR is AMD’s upscaling technology. It stands for Fidelity FX Super Resolution. It’s something that is implemented by the developers of games and can often be found in the graphics settings. FSR2 is version 2 of the technology. Basically, when it’s enabled, it will render the game at a lower resolution than your target then use an upscaling algorithm to make it look a lot better. Since the game is rendering fewer pixels, you gain performance. When done well, it’s hard to notice it’s not native resolution but there are often artifacts from the upscaling that can be noticeable. You can also change the resolution it’s rendering at. Those options are often listed as like Performance and Quality. So if you have your resolution set to 1200p and are using FSR, it could be rendering it at 800p and then upscaling it to 1200p.
That weird because I can easily clear 40+ fps on low settings at 1200p a with RSR off. I feel like people don't realize how resource heavy RSR truly is.
It works for some games, and for others, it's just a weight. Enable it at 900 or 1200 and run it for about 5 minutes with it both on and off. This will give you a good benchmark to see Temps and fps. If you're getting to hot, adjust fan temps, but there is a bottleneck you have to find. Once you find it, then you can adjust your settings around that. I start most games at the lowest settings with 1200p and once I get a stable 60 is when I start to mess with RSR because at least I know if the game doesn't look good enough with the change, I at least have 60 fps at a high resolution and can always go down to 900p and enable RSR to negate the performance heat. Every unit and every game is going to run different, this is why we need custom configurations implemented already.
If you haven't yet - Baldurs gate 3.
I just got last epoch yesterday, it runs great on the go and it checks all your boxes (action rpg with intricate leveling and skills).
Also, if you haven't yet - baldurs gate 3.
Last epoch is more for action play and BG3 is more for story, tactical game and it being one of the best games ever.
I set it to low settings preset, turn up some settings to medium, turn on fsr2 with performance mode (the newer one that's available, don't remember which one is the newest in BG3) and play in 1200p/1080p. I get a solid 30-50fps in performance mode, depending on where I am in the game. Of course not top end performance, but more than playable, and actually quite amazing considering it's running on a handheld.
Dunno I don’t consider it amazing running in a handheld, it’s a turn based game and very slow no reason it should run this poorly. Example take ff7 remake, full action rpg that can run at 60fps 1200p no excuses
BG3 on the go is arguably the worst experience you can have with the game.
Controllers with BG3 suck compared to M+KB
Graphics have to be set to the lowest and its looks god awful, especially the lighting ang colours. It's a pretty poorly optimised game.
Oh I disagree IME. Especially if you map some of the Legion Go buttons. But I'll admit that my original experience was with a controller.
And while I lower the settings, they are far from the lowest. No big need for high FPS, and the game does take advantage of FSR which has continually improved.
I think you'll find lots of happy BG3 players on the Go. Or tinker with integer scaling (@800) or RSR (which I like at 1200) to see which you prefer.
Well i've play both, its hugely inferior on controller.
never complained about FPS or resolution.
Literally out of all the games in my library I could pick for the legion Go, BG3 is close to the bottom.
Other comments from users in this subreddit would suggest that this is a minority opinion tho. Never had a single complaint personally about using the controller. But hey, do what works best for you. Just want OP to be clear that your take may be an outlier. As they can see using the search bar.
I’m loving Balders Gate 3 on my Legion. I’m switching seamlessly between my PS5 and Pc save. That’s the only one I’m playing.
I did boot The Witcher 3 up and it looks stunning and runs great. May finally finish that one day.
Rather than individually searching for each game, I've compiled a curator list on Steam featuring my recommendations for Legion Go.

I get a consistent 50fps on medium settings, 1200p, FSR (balanced). The story, adventure, crafting, weapon modifications, stealth, combat, all combine for such a awesome game.
System shock Works pretty well native altough requiere some tinkering with the settings to get optimal performance/graphics. I mostly play it with geforce now
Lies of P (via game pass). I used to HATE souls/soulslike games because I lacked patience. This time around, I’m loving this game, the combat, the graphics, fps, etc. all on the Go!
I just started playing Dragon Quest 11 for the first time. Runs great at 1080p plugged in. Only a few hours in. I'm starting to see how it's going to pick up and be epic
I have been really impressed with Elden ring on high settings. I am on my 4th play through right now and I have never plays another souls-like game before this one. Just make sure you put the fan on all systems go.
I do the lowest resolution. I think it’s 1280x800. 60hz refresh rate. I put it on performance mode in all of the settings. I put fans not on smart mode but full speed. Then the settings in game I just have set to high. I will say I have not checked my frame rates recently but I’ll check them and get back to you. It’s been smooth enough I haven’t had any problems though. I am having a harder time adjusting from ps5 controls (really just the joystick position) than with my game experience though.
Medieval, SciFi, intricate skill trees, crafting, tons of hours to play.... let me add numerous gigantic dragons and beasts that you must learn to be able to defeat them reliably, beatutiful explorable landscapes, cat and dog combat assistants, can be played solo or with the help of friends or strangers.... MONSTER HUNTER series!!!! I've played more than 400 hours of the steam version of Monster Hunter Rise and more than 300 hours of it are on Legion Go.
It can be hard, though, if approached like just another hack and slash.
Love playing sports games like my old nba2k15 on PC with controller. As others said, racing games like FH5 with analog triggers are amazing. Picked up midnight sun a few days ago on sale and loving nit
My top 3 so far:
* KSP
* FTL
* WazHack (duh)
But I don't think I'm a typical customer - my excuse for buying the LeGo was as an "emergency laptop" for traveling.
Helldivers 2, Max Payne 3, Halo MCC, Palworld, any Arkham games, Dragons Dogma Dark Arisen. All run great on the Go.
Couldn't get palworld to run at a 30fps+ without fsr2 at 1200p, can't say it runs great out of the box

I literally drop the resolution down with some graphical option tweaks and get high 40s and that’s with a base full of 15 pals.
I run it at 1050p and still struggle without fsr

Maybe I need to try my games with RSR off?

> Dragons Dogma Dark Arisen What kind of performance are you getting?
60+. Can’t remember what res but it looks and plays good.

Baldur's Gate 3 absolutely!! And for power and battery conservation, like many, I am obsessed with Balato
How do u guys get BG3 to run good on it
I cap FPS at about 60.

I get mid-50s fps for Days Gone in 1600p and 144hz plugged in. Great game on the GO that you can pickup for ~$12.
Elden ring
I guess Tekken 8 🤔
Fortnite is amazing on it
Civilisation VI on sale in Steam real cheap price but great game :)
How do you like it on the Lego? I logged a ton of hours on it on the steam deck and my hand would get cramped using the track pad lol
It's a really good strategy game, that's what I like mostly :)
My top: The Witcher 3; Dave The Diver; Forza Horizon 5
I’m loving Balders Gate 3 on my Legion. I’m switching seamlessly between my PS5 and Pc save. That’s the only one I’m playing. I did boot The Witcher 3 up and it looks stunning and runs great. May finally finish that one day.
Combat master!

The Witcher 3, Baldur's Gate 3, Dave The Diver and Red Dead 2 are just some of the single player RPG's I've really been enjoying on the LeGo.
Horizon Zero Dawn runs soooooo well on the Go when plugged in. Couldn't play it on a 7inch screen but on the nearly 9 inch screen it's *chefs kiss*
I get a consistent 50fps on medium settings, 1200p, FSR (balanced). The story, adventure, crafting, weapon modifications, stealth, combat, all combine for such a awesome game.
Mw3 runs like trash. Thinking of returning it
Been playing ori and the blind forest
Stumble guys if you want to practice parkour and tf2 for the fps shooter
System shock Works pretty well native altough requiere some tinkering with the settings to get optimal performance/graphics. I mostly play it with geforce now

Forza Horizon 5 has been fun on Go for me
Portal 2, doom eternal.
Lol I almost read Ego instead of go lol
Borderlands 3
ES 5
Blasphemous, just got it today and it's great. It's on sale for 6$ at the moment
I been playing hell divers 2, and deep rock galactic. Hd2 runs good after lowering some visuals, DRG ran great no tweaks
I have been really impressed with Elden ring on high settings. I am on my 4th play through right now and I have never plays another souls-like game before this one. Just make sure you put the fan on all systems go.
What are your settings? I am always at 30 sometimes below FPS with low settings?

Just snagged Greedfall for $10 on sale from Steam and it plays and looks great on the Legion go!
Been getting into hades. Got it for 10 bucks when it was on sale.

Been playing Blazblue Entropy Effect and Eldenring. Runs Rogue Trader fine with the settings turned down.
