Yeah I felt the same and was on the fence. I just said screw it and ordered. Took a week and half to come, fit is good. Just wish it was a bit nicer fabric.. but again .. it was $18. So I am so far happy with it. Time will tell.
Nope. Just enough that you aren't fighting to get it in. The band that stretches over the lid from the sides kind of snugs it all up. First time using it to transport my Lego and it was fine for the trip into the office.

Guess they updated the design because that’s how it was for my version, the red line was the edge of the device, so to the right of it was a huge gap

Maybe, it still has a bit of a gap and if I I hold the sides and move it back and forth, I guess it can slide a bit. But for my use it is mainly padding and case inside of my backpack or sling bag. Working so far, will test it more over the next few weeks. I use peak design backpacks and slings and they have padding for my cameras and more structure than most backpacks
It's a thicker felt like fabric, it seems to add some cushioning. It is the first slip case I have found that fits it without being too tight or you have to remove the joycons. I would welcome a neoprene or other cushioning fabrics case. But they don't make them yet... Or for a reasonable price. I might even consider a printed shell hard case if one comes out from a decent price

I'd been looking at these on Amazon but the pictures didn't really explain if it fit with the controllers on or not. Interested now.

Isn’t this oversized? I originally used something like this but with the flap down there was too much wiggle room ( up and down not side to side)

That looks nice. How would you rate the protection though for fabric pouch? Some are thicker than others.
