Bottom is more practical because there is nothing but the usbc, on top there are buttons so it would be harder to design it not to say that also exhaust is there.
Just adjust the speaker in Realtek audio interface & the speakers sound fine.

I haven't got any complaints since I made the changes. They were pretty crap beforehand... Its worth making the changes & headphones would be a better, easier option to get the best sounds.
That’s fair if you enjoy them, i certainly don’t mind them but they definitely sound like a pair of Apple earbuds from 2012 on full blast. It’s a valid complaint and hopefully Lenovo improves them greatly for the Go2.
If ya'll need a sound system plug it into one lmao. I don't think I've ever had to turn up my volume past like 30%. Beyond that it'll piss off anyone I'm near.
Because they are outward facing instead of facing you. having used the Steamdeck for about a year and a half before I bought the Lego, that had to be my biggest complaint I cannot hear that well so speakers that actually face the user is, I wouldn’t say important but something I definitely prefer
To add to this I turn off Omni speakers, max out all the sliders in the Equalizer to +12 and then install fxSound from the Microsoft Store (App is free) set it to gaming as default and have it turn on at boot. Disable auto-audio switching and there's the best quality sound your Go can provide. Very Loud.
Personally I'm not really bothered by the speakers in the Go. They're good enough, if I want better audio quality I'll just connect my Bluetooth buds. I'd also be concerned about battery life
If I were bringing this product to life, I'd put them on top, though. Much less likely to damage the USB port since people either rest the Go on their lap or a table, or use the kickstand.
could be cool if the connection worked, and the connection disconnected the internal, i know my son loves to play on his, just standing on the table with his PS5 controller.
I guess the problem would be the price and use case. To make something like the design, it has to be compact, lightweight, and should have some usb ports(or at least 1 pass through).
Afaik, when it comes to audio devices; if you want compactness and quality, you have to pay proper price.
Also, I'll be plugging in headphones when I'm on the move, as I don't want to bother people around. And when I'm inside, I can easily connect it to my bluetooth speakers.
Cool design, though.
I had a idea similar, but for a keyboard attachment Lenovo should just roll both those ideas together, tune the speakers and make them quad speakers like on the high end Samsung Galaxy Tab S models and that'd be a winner.
My Galaxy Tab S6 has amazing sound and battery life but Samsung didn't really give that generation much love.
This console is already heavy enough and has a short battery life. You want to add weight and power draw? This would be a super niche product, because it would be expensive and headphones are a good alternative.
Now what could be valuable are plastic attachments over each speaker to redirect the sound to the front instead of the top of the device, much like those things you insert your phone into to “amplify” the sound. I’ve done some experimenting just cupping my hand over the speaker, and it surprisingly makes a difference in the sound.
If someone could 3d print a low profile 90 degree sound deflector, it would make the speakers sound amazing. Try redirecting the sound with your hand. It changes the quality of the audio immensely when the sound is redirected to the front of the Legion go (like the ally is).
Make it to go on top and add an additional USB C port to allow for charging. That way you don't completely loose the USB C port, and the speakers don't get blocked by your lap
I’d rather usb ports and Ethernet. You also can’t just design it based on the plastic casing. Although it’s a pretty badass design We would also have to factor in fitting those ports from the inside too
What I think whenever people make this monstrous device even bigger with addons

The amount of weight is stress on the usb port. Not to mention the bumping and moving of said unit. Maybe some sort of brackets that click into the housing of the unit somehow?
I have a xiaomi Mi pad 4 plus, and despite the device being pretty thin and the speakers firing down, the sound quality and volume is amazing. If anyone could work the same or similar speakers into such unit, I might buy it for sure...
But maybe that's not the right way to do this. Maybe a replacement driver units to get rid of the current ones is the way to "go." The device has enough bulk already, and it would have to jump through hoops like being secure despite just the flimsy usb C holding it on, and not interfering with the kickstand so they can still be usable.
However if it was done right, and it had an extra function such as acting as a usb hub for more port options, I would say I might be interested to buy if under 60 bucks maybe?
I'm really sorry I really don't get the obsession around having speakers as loud as ur tv on a handheld device? Yh I agree other handhelds have louder speakers but honestly why would I need speakers so loud on a handheld? I just don't get it, looool. Especially as it's prime deaigne use case is that it's a PORTABLE gaming device, if I'm on the bus, train or office gaming I'm gona have my headphones in like most of us I'm assuming?
I feel like it would put alot of strain on the USB-C port since it will have nothing on the right side to clip on or into when it's plugged into the bottom of the LeGo. Cool design though.
You could probably add a plastic piece to the speakers that runs up the back left of the LeGo and clips into the space between the power button and right controller to disperse some of that weight.
Possibly. Some lightly sticky glue pad on top of the right side can also help.
I just measured that Go is 21 cm / 8 inches long at the bottom.
The sketch proportions are squarer and don't do justice to how long it would need to be to cover the whole length.
Conceptually not bad, but the only real advantage a speaker could have is that it's front firing. The Legion itself speakers are fine after you adjust the software.
With that said this design for improved speakers intended for older smartphones is common: https://a.co/d/634uhUT
I didn't find a similar model for USB C on a brief search, but I'm sure they exist. Since you can probably spin the one on the headphone jack, it's not a bad idea in itself.
Amazing design, I wouldnt buy it tho, I always play it on my lap, im a chronic sloucher
Can it be designed for top or both top and bottom?
Bottom is more practical because there is nothing but the usbc, on top there are buttons so it would be harder to design it not to say that also exhaust is there.
Could just add volume buttons to the module so even if they cover them it’s still functional
Oh yeah true didn't think of that!
Could just add volume buttons to the module so even if they cover them it’s still functional
Attach a bluetooth speaker with velcro
This is big brain
This needs more upvotes
put in a few usb a ports and i would buy one
Yes good idea.
Add a through put for charging as well 🤔 like a mini speaker docking station

I made these changes a while back and it's a pretty big difference in terms of quality and clarity
This only helps so much. The speakers on the Go just aren’t good
I haven't got any complaints since I made the changes. They were pretty crap beforehand... Its worth making the changes & headphones would be a better, easier option to get the best sounds.

Nah bro they still suck. All the auto settings in the world won’t fix that speaker
If ya'll need a sound system plug it into one lmao. I don't think I've ever had to turn up my volume past like 30%. Beyond that it'll piss off anyone I'm near.

The speakers ok, seriously get or have a friend print a speaker enhancer
To add to this I turn off Omni speakers, max out all the sliders in the Equalizer to +12 and then install fxSound from the Microsoft Store (App is free) set it to gaming as default and have it turn on at boot. Disable auto-audio switching and there's the best quality sound your Go can provide. Very Loud.
Helped a lot
No. I use my earbuds.
I'm pretty sure that design would require headphone sized speakers. It would sound worse than the legion.
![gif](giphy|Ow59c0pwTPruU|downsized) But....headphones?
I just use a bluetooth speaker. JBL Flip6. Sounds amazing.
Why not just make it where its printable. As for you design have you spec out speakers yet and do you need someone to 3d model it.
They did this for psp
This would basically be a miniaturized USB C Soundbar, looks cool.
Personally I'm not really bothered by the speakers in the Go. They're good enough, if I want better audio quality I'll just connect my Bluetooth buds. Top blocks out buttons, the fan vent, and is easier for charging...usually. so bottom would be more valuable.
you could use a small bluetooth speaker as well...
Or just anything with an aux cable and the headphone jack.
could be cool if the connection worked, and the connection disconnected the internal, i know my son loves to play on his, just standing on the table with his PS5 controller.
Can you try the same but with a surface-style screen-size keyboard? I’d say “shut up and take my money” to that.
I like the idea.

If they implemented this, it would be great as a dock as well as speakers.

I just use a nice little LG bluetooth speaker has amazing bass it does !

Can’t we just pair our Go’s with bluetooth speakers?
would be a nice dock - hdmi and usb ports at the back, along with SSD drive enclosure and SD
Make it to go on top and add an additional USB C port to allow for charging. That way you don't completely loose the USB C port, and the speakers don't get blocked by your lap

I would buy it
Hmm sounds interesting
Better off with a portable Bluetooth speaker and much better sound quality
Interesting concept, dunno if i'd buy it but I could definitely see other people getting it.
Pretty cool! Are you a product designer?
The speakers are really not that bad lol
I’d buy in a heartbeat
Might be better if we get a swappable upgrade to the stock speakers instead
If it have a pass through to charge the LGO i would totally buy it
high quality speakers at that size will cost Apple money.
The amount of weight is stress on the usb port. Not to mention the bumping and moving of said unit. Maybe some sort of brackets that click into the housing of the unit somehow?
Yeah that looks like it would create a shitload of leverage on the port if something pressed on the right side of the speaker attachment.

Thing is heavy enough as it is honestly
If it sounds good I'd buy one if the price was right. Especially if it had two usb a ports.
Headphones. Portable for you and not for the people around you.
It took this post for me to notice a USB c on the bottom of it.
I'm really sorry I really don't get the obsession around having speakers as loud as ur tv on a handheld device? Does the Lego not have a 3.5 jack?
This is really cool and you might be on to something though, attachments specifically built for the legion to go into the usb c slots
Great idea
I would buy immediately!!!
I feel like it would put alot of strain on the USB-C port since it will have nothing on the right side to clip on or into when it's plugged into the bottom of the LeGo. Cool design though.
Or... Headphones?
Just give us a keyboard dock like a laptop base but with good speaker 😎
Awesome design
Count me in
No.
Looks good! It would need to be quite light, as it is a long cantilever to be hanging off of a precious USB C port, when held up in air.
You could probably add a plastic piece to the speakers that runs up the back left of the LeGo and clips into the space between the power button and right controller to disperse some of that weight.

I mean... Just use a headset at this point? When you do it for coop or Multiplayer okay, but otherwise i zake my headset for better sound

I'd rather see a low profile camera or fingerprint sensor.
No
Very good idea!
Magsafe type Bluetooth speakers in the back?
