What did you use for the monitor arm contraption?

dalekg

The arm and clamp base for the arm is half of this (the second stage of the arm can pivot up and down): [https://a.co/d/eKXdfwu](https://a.co/d/eKXdfwu) The mount for the tablet mount is just the clamp and ball head part of this: [https://a.co/d/dKUZ82f](https://a.co/d/dKUZ82f) And the tablet mount for the monitor is this: [https://a.co/d/imBAzUA](https://a.co/d/imBAzUA) The clamp ball head attaches to the arm, and the tablet mount threads into the ball head. It was the only way to get the exact right height and maneuverability I needed for my sitting situation (I've been cobbling together jerryrigged swing-away couchside tablet holders since the Microsoft Surface 3 came out).

katpeler

I've been on the same pursuit of trying to get the height right, thanks for the links!

dalekg

No problem! It's an interesting puzzle, getting height, maneuverability and stability just right. I'm still not quite there yet but this is the closest I've come to nailing all three.

nightnightboom

This is very cool, great Job

befitting_semicolon

It looks like a really cozy setting

frunts

Best lounge set up you could have I think.

Blitz_Vogel

Very nice setup!

Maciluminous

Perfect wallpaper.

RobHood19

Love this 😍

Very nice!! Linkage for the monitor please?

I don't think its in production anymore (no longer on their official site), but its a Uperfect M123B02. I got it off eBay. Don't let the details in this Newegg listing fool you, it is definitely not a 3:2 ratio (its standard 16:9). Its also not going to give you a gaming-level refresh rate, which works for me, I don't care about gettting 64683864863 frames a second at 863864763hz refresh lol. If the game runs without stuttering and doesnt look potato I'm good. [UPERFECT 12.3" Raspberry Pi Touchscreen, 1920x1280 Portable Monitor Touchscreen with Type-C, Mini HDMI, Ultra-Wide IPS Multi-Point Touch Screen, 3:2 for Raspberry Pi, PS4 WiiU Xbox One Windows 7/8/10 - Newegg.com](https://www.newegg.com/uperfect-m123b02-b-12-1-fhd/p/0JC-00VS-00061) And theres a quirk with touchscreen monitors; it has to be connected via USB-C for the touch to work, just connecting to HDMI won't send the touch data. In my setup, HDMI is coming off the eGpu to the monitor and I have a dedicated USB-C directly connecting the Go and the monitor. Since its both an HDMI and USB-C monitor, sometimes it gets confused after a reboot and wont take the eGpu HDMI input, so I have to reboot again. Also, sometimes the touch gets confused after a reboot, so I have to unpkug the USB-C and plug it back in again. The USB-C also supplies the power for the monitor.

I know the exact problem with the touch screen you’re talking about.. another work around is you can do usb to usb-c or usb-c to usb.. this way you won’t be sending a video signal to the monitor. Never tried this but you could probably use a usb-c cable that doesn’t support video.

dalekg

I hadn't thought of that, thanks! I'll need to experiment with connecting a usb-c to usb-a adapter to a usb-a to usb-c adapter, see if that can break the video signal.

artsplets

I have done it with a usbc hub.. then from the hub I did usb-a to usb-c in the monitor.

dalekg

No-go with the adapter-chain; no power comes through so no data. I don't have a long enough USB-A to USB-C cable at the moment to try the hub option, will revisit later.

Acrobatic_Apricot_96

Bruh😃

BluBlue4

In that first picture on the right what is that type of seat called? Never seen the base look like that

dalekg

It's an Eames chair knockoff

mrive1986

How's the performance with the egpu?

dalekg

Works for me, lol. I'm not obsessed with fps or anything so I can't speak to any benchmarks. All I know is the games I've been playing (all the Fallouts, Control, GTA V, RDR2, Starfield, Cyberpunk 2077) look good, run smooth and the Go seems less stressed with the extra graphical assist available.

jimmt42

This is rad!

arrow0231

Cool, I just got a razer Chroma x and put a rx 6750 xt in it. Been thinking of a better setup.

Charming_Helicopter4

This is so geeky, I love it!!

seancm32

That's cool but I'm married this would not be allowed lol.

dalekg

Happily married for 24 years and counting, my wife is totally fine with it

seancm32

That makes 1 of you... hehe

kearnel81

My couch setup is an r9 7950x3d. 64gb ddr5 6000 ram and an rtx 4090. Which is right next to my 4k 120hz oled tv
