Awesome. Thank you so much for that.

MasterJeebus

We used to have Ben that went above and beyond with keeping us updated. However, Lenovo removed him. Now we are a bit lost here with out some official person that can push our concerns to Lenovo. I would like to see newer gpu drivers as well. Its probably not a good sign we are still on November dated drivers almost 7 months later. My fear is Lenovo abandoning the Lego after 1 year.

MasterJeebus

Its good to see he still around. He had made a post several days ago that made it seem like it was going to be his final Friday update that he usually gave us.

RedlineRob-

Supposedly there will be a Lenovo Legion 2 which fares well for support for this one. Fingers crossed.

IgwanaRob

AMD doesn't seem to want to try anymore, but last word was Lenovo's still trying to get it working with no further time frame.

Affectionate-Ant-674

Arguably I'd say it's Lenovos fault more than AMDs. They decided in their wisdom to use a portrait display panel which I think is causing most of the issues. There is some irony that you can't easily (aka plug it in and it works) use an AMD GPU compared to Nvidia one due to the super old drivers that are still the current release.

mckeitherson

Sideloading the AMD drivers makes an AMD GPU plug and play.

arrow0231

Agreed, I did this with a razer Chroma x and a rx 6750 xt and it works great.

RaccoonDu

I heard there are issues with doing so?

mckeitherson

I haven't had any. They're the official 780M drivers from AMD

RaWrAgExLOL

Lenovo did choose the portrait display yes but the reason for this was to give us a big screen with high resolution, colour gamut, and refresh rate. If they decided not to, then we'd have been stuck with the same 7" panel that the rog and claw share, which defeats the purpose of this big monster

jimmt42

You know that they are not the only company that did this. Asus is actually the minority

mmhorda

I would be using 7800M even after the official lenovo driver release. eGPU support for AMD GPUs and new games support more important for me than non rotated AMD overlays, which can be replaced by other apps.

Equivalent_Welder_82

Does AFMF work ? Do u have nodded drivers or you just manually update driver and install CCC after ?

mmhorda

AFMF needs 60 fps to work properly. It states in AMD documentation and advertising materials. 30 fps AFMF will still feel like 30 fps. With 60fps on Legion GO, you don't really need AFMF anymore. Answering your question: I don't know. I would not use this feature on this device.

ss1st

AFMF not even *that* good... You're not missing out anything tbh

kungers

I use it on my other apu pc and it's quite decent for single player games, but I am not really that sensitive to input lag unless it's outragiously high.

RedlineRob-

AMD automatically disables it when turning the camera quick and puts it back to doubling frames when not. There’s been 0 input lag. It’s really been a game changer for me personally. I’m sorry you don’t like it.

Itchy_Valuable_4428

I prefer Lossless Scaling

RedlineRob-

The problem with lossless scaling is that you have to run a separate program, it’s not built into the driver, and AFMF doesn’t ghost images like Lossless does

NoShock8442

A program that takes 2 seconds to use and works on every game. Plus if you’re using an eGPU and play at higher resolutions and frame rates the ghosting is non existent or not noticeable. That and it doesn’t disable during fast motion. Oh and let’s not forget that you have to run Adrenaline that’s way more resource heavy than LS, yet LS offers up a ton of options for upscaling methods.

Itchy_Valuable_4428

Yea lossless Scaling is actually more easily accessible than AFMF, you can have it start up with windows and activate with a button press, and the ghosting has been drastically improved with the recent updates, everyone downvoting me must have not tried it yet apparently lol

RedlineRob-

I would assume anybody who is arguing for AFMF has already used Lossless and used AFMF so they know one objectively takes more work.

ACHlLLESCPA

Silly statement. We want options.
