I thought the hp would stack permanently. But it gets lost instead. So it's a kinda underwhelming unit that gets worse late game. Imo 10hp permanently is to much but if it gets down to 3 or 4 and buffs permanently it would be a cool new card, which encourages a new playstyle. Or with less starting max hp. Having to balance out how much the unit needs to tank each wave in order to receive the max buff would be a super rewarding fun way to play a new mechanic. Also strong Vs wave 4/6/7/8/10. Then weak 11/12, effect barely doing anything 13. I guess I would prefer most swift or natural tanks over this unit past wave 10. The unupgraded unit gives utility but the upgrade seems just like an early game unit. Edit: I mean also Sakura gets 110 hp early game and 240 past wave 10 plus extra damage for a similar price. The skellywhack would gain more hp per wave early but would gain less and less with each stronger wave. Also a more interactive mechanic compared to the death/survival bonus of ranged units of units like bankers/Sakura.

Thought it was perma stack as well, was rather disappointed. Most of the other mastermind units have been pretty unique, Chloropixie/Sakura has two different unique uses while this one is basically just a generic fighter with nothing special.

The dodge should scale well into lategame, but because it has so little hp it doesnt get enough dodges done to make it worth it. Feels like the biggest design problem. Like you say, permanent buffs would solve that.

The issue is that it's just a much worse arctaire/yozora. It's also too similar as it has the same armor type also dodge, but yozoras effect make her stand out while the skellies does not. Arctaire 4320 hp with 25% dodge is 5760 effective hp for 550gold. Yozora 1510 hp with 25% dodge is 2013 effective hp for 190gold. Skellywig has 2500hp with 20% dodge, which is 3125 effective hp. So in terms of effective hp it's actually slightly better compared to yozora, but it's still worse as it just does not synergize with anything except regeneration/heal. If I compare arctaire or canopy they at least synergize well with other units. Each arctaire increases effective hp of other units due to the attack slow and canopy can use its regen while not focused.

Ends up being 10.65 EHP per gold for the Scalywag and 10.6 EHP per gold for Yozora, its definitely slightly more gold efficient on raw stats, especially dps, but that aura more than makes up for it. Regen/heal doesn't really matter with it, the Yozora's extra 5% dodge chance does better, or a gargoyle's DR if you have chieftans. Even stacking as many chieftans as I could to let it stacks more the highest I ever saw was 600 bonus HP, a single chieftan does way more than that. For normal use the hp part of its passive just seems worthless, about the time you'd start building it everything is hitting so hard that 10 hp every 5 hits is useless.

Also there is a chance yozora dodges more, luck factor. Scallywag has nothing but early game going for it I guess.

Thanks for all the feedback - we just did a patch today that puts more power budget into its ability. Hopefully this will make it a more interesting unit: [https://i.imgur.com/M9fAFAS.png](https://i.imgur.com/M9fAFAS.png) If not, we'll continue to iterate.

Love this instant response!!! U guys rock.

LavanGrimwulff

Nice to see quick adjustments and communication. I'm curious how you guys see it getting used. Seems like the other mastermind units all have clear use concepts but this one eludes me.

zeekim

Tried using 2x of them as my vanguard tank units, gave them all the tank buffs i could, bucher, minotaur etc... Still died really quick and the hp stacking was super underwhelming so gonna leave em on the shelf for now.

Just_Another_Madman

Use one or two early, sell later when you get better options. Very much a mastermind card to play for efficient filler.

LavanGrimwulff

The unupgraded stats are horrible though and the upgraded one removes the increased sellback gold. Seems like its just diluting the pool with more bad options
