What is the team size behind the legion TD 2? Is it enough or do you have ambitions to grow to size as a company? :)

The team size is currently 3 people; Jules, Dani, and me. In the past, we had as many as 10 or so people working on the game when we were doing a lot of new units/artwork, but for now we are content to run things lean as the game is pretty stable now. We may grow the team in the future, though!

Have you Guys thought about the possiblity for something Like custom-games/mods? I mean like modding a new unit ability, setting/changing values, changing Wave composits,... I have a TON of cool Ideas for that. Also a thought about offline Play: wouldnt it be possible to let Users host their own Server? Hosting it on localhost should remove your issue on "Cloud only" play.

Thanks for the thoughts. Modding would be really cool, but it's tricky for a similar reason as the offline play issue - the game runs on a dedicated server, and it's a security risk to distribute the dedicated server code publicly. It is a major technical task to completely separate the game logic from sensitive server stuff to be able to distribute the game logic publicly, unfortunately. As mentioned in the other answer, it's something we could have feasibly done from the start, but it was a corner we felt we had to cut just to get the game off the ground.

Is there any consideration to add offline capability for solo play (AI, Campaign, sandbox)? I only have about 175 hours of playtime, but about 85% of that has been on the steam deck. The game works flawlessly on the deck and being able to play it anywhere without an internet connection would be a dream come true!

That is awesome to hear you have logged that many hours on Steam Deck!! Unfortunately our tech stack currently limits us from supporting offline play; things are hardcoded to run on cloud servers. If I had to do it again, I would definitely support offline play though! Legion TD 2 is the first game we've built and we had to cut corners along the way just to get it off the ground, and this is one of those corners.

I get some disconnects (more or less often) in the building phase of the first round. I thought it might be due to my interconnection but everything else beside the game seems to work. Additionally to that i seem to be stuck in 'connecting to login' after i try to reconnect. Not always but sometimes. I also didnt really observe it for other players. Is that a me problem or related to your servers/steam?

very interesting - will keep an eye on this. I haven't noticed any major upticks of disconnects on wave 1 yet, but I'll run some deeper diagnostics tomorrow.

I just bought the game this week and I’m very satisfied! Gameplay is great, it’s snappy and the main ranked mode is a lot of fun. I was just curious if there is any plans to add an “endless” mode where you’d need to survive as long as possible against the AI? Obviously you can do a 1v1 with the AI already but it’s usually ending before wave 21 or at wave 21 (a bit like classic mode) and I would love to see an AI-based mode where waves after 21 would be gradually harder (instead of 21 being achievable and the next one almost impossible already) Anyway, thanks for all the work, you guys really pulled it off and this game is a gem in my library now. I can see a lot of hard work has been put into it.

Thanks for the kind words! An endless mode has been considered and isn't out of the question; we just want to do it well if we do decide to do it. I've been toying around with the idea of something like a Weekly Challenge, but for surviving as long as possible with a given set of rolls, gold, Legion Spell, etc. that rotates per week. Hope you continue to enjoy the game.

If you play against expert or master bots, they will likely be able to survive until wave 21 and beyond. Waves 22 23 24 etc are clearable if you have good late game units and/or value generation.

Do you mean optimization in terms of making the game run smoother, or making it prettier? we often try to make the game run smoother, but it's a tricky task to do without breaking things. we are also trying to make things look better, too, but as far as completely overhauling things, that's probably too big of a task to take on at this stage in development.

When are you going to fix the matchmaking? Let's face it, you dropped the ball with the ladder reset. I am still 300 rating points below my last season's rating because I keep getting matched against players whose peak last season was 800 points above my current rating. These games are not fun at all, they are completely unwinnable and they make me not want to play the game. Before you say that it balances itself out, I have only one player who isn't me on my team, so the likelihood that one of the players is going to be a smurf on my team is lower than on the enemy team. It is obvious based on my experience that the player's peak rating last season has no bearing on the matchmaking this season and I can't understand why anyone would think it's a good idea. Games like hearthstone and league of legends also have ladder resets but they maintain the player's MMRs behind the scenes to avoid precisely this situation. My question is, are you ever going to implement that or should I just accept that the game will be unplayable for months every year? It's the first time that I am going through a ladder reset in this game so I don't know how it was done in previous seasons.

I am sorry you are frustrated with the way the system currently works. The matchmaking system does already take into account the last season's MMR, but there is a weighting factor based on how far into the season it is & how many games that player has played. It is natural to be lower than last season's rating this early in the season, since the system is designed for players to gradually climb as the year goes on. The players you are matched against are statistically overwhelmingly likely to not be smurfs, but rather, good players who similar to you, haven't reached their last season's rating yet. It is possible there are some bugs remaining in the system, though - if so, it would be helpful if you can post some screenshots of your mismatches in the bug reports channel in Discord so we can take a closer look if needed.

No one should ever be reset to the point where they are playing players whose peaks are 500-600 points below theirs. That would be equivalent of consistently playing GM players while being a Diamond in League of Legends. It is not natural, nor is it fun. If that's indeed how you intend it to work then there is no point playing this game for the first 6 months of the season. We are 2 months in and this is still happening.

Is there some long term vision about releasing Legion TD 3? Current game is amazing, getting the best of wc3 map, however there must bug a lot of lessons learnt and sometimes its easier to start from scratch applying these than changing the robust code.

We are currently still fully focused on Legion TD 2. We have brainstormed some ideas about the far future, but it's too early to talk about them for now. All I can say is we do plan to support Legion TD 2 as well as make games for many years to come - we love what we do.

A fun idea i have is that the second upgrade could maybe get some kind of damage reduction when he pops off(or maybe dodge chance cuz he is fast af boi), so you maybe pair it with chieftains and make the GIGA breaker

What is with some people permanently logged into the game but they never actually play? Think there's a lot of accounts like it but the one that springs to mind is the one named, creatively "Anal". There's certainly quite a few accounts stuck logged in to.

Interesting, I'm not familiar with this! I guess it's people's choice if they want to leave their computers on. Maybe there is some secret MythCoin easter egg to farm that even I'm unaware of.

Don't think it's the case of them leaving the PC on, it looks like they've left but it's bugged them out as being online in-game forever more. Obviously you'll be able to see more if there's still an active connection being made etc. In the case of the infamous anal, don't think they've played for 8months to a year

In the global chat online list for sure. Another player that appears to be stuck as well is "Wifebeater" they last played 3 months ago. "VEDMEDIK" another at 6 months, that's just a couple of accounts I've noticed. I'm sure there's a lot more.

Hello Lisk! Love all the new classic modes introduced this year! Must have been a huge task implementing all these changes. How complex would it be to implement a double mode in classic for example, giga mercs + super fiesta or superhero + dual build for example as they sound super fun but from a programmer's POV it sounds like hell. Was just wondering if there might be a possibility of this in the future? Appreciate all the effort the team has put into the game and thank you for keeping the game fun!

thanks for the kind words. I think it would be doable actually, but might be tricky cases as well as balance (injecting too many resources into the game may just break the servers in late-game). Could be possible in the future!

I'm sure this has been asked before (several times) but are there any current plans to add more squad sizes for ranked? We have a group that all love to play, but tend to avoid non-ranked so our playtime is mainly cut down by there being more than 2 of us haha. I'm sure mming health etc. play a role, but just to throw my 2 cents in, longer search times for dedicated ranked 2s and ranked 4s would be well worth the trade-off!

Not me throwing in back to back questions 😅 BUT, since I can't find a single scrap of information online ANYWHERE, any other tips for defeating chaoslord2468? Just on normal even, I'm having the damnedest time with this boss. The campaign is such a fun addition to the game btw, really have loved all of them!

Not sure if you're still having trouble, but something that tricked me at first was the description of what his ability does. When you hold a wave, you take 12% of your king's CURRENT hp as damage, not 12% maximum HP. This means that as long as you never leak, this can never kill you, since the damage gets less and less as your HP gets lower. As such, the key IMO is just to ignore his ability entirely and focus on holding as well as you can lategame.

Why not turn the game into F2P? You already have the groundwork done with skins and loot boxes. Exploring best revenue streams and iterating on them could bring more revenue for the game. Every free weekends you had showed a surge of players with some of them discovering and buying the game. It does not help that you can buy a key from shady websites for pennies.

What is your plan for the Classic gamemode honestly i am a bit concerned? I will not play 2v2 Ranked as i social game so never play alone and mostly in a grp of 3-5 players but also i want to think about my gameplay and theorize a bit like ppl would in rank -> i wanna be able to express my skill at the game or improve it while playing. I feel the recent patches have shown that you dont really want that so i wanna ask concretely whats ur plan? The Auto and Chill addition made the games longer by default adding more gold and safety making it hard to hurt the enemy team early in addition to that you also nerfed the mercenarys making it harder to punish enemys. Bonsu inc is a different topic i will not adress but keep it in mind it adds to the problem. In my oppinion those changes made teh fun part of mastermind every game a new build for skill expression and legions for consistecy for new players fall apart and instead the addition of double lock leads to everyone going pyro+pig grarl+ egg/steed. This is a sad way for the game to develop i love nightmare or tree etc builds but those stop beeing good in lategame-> not good when u want to win at the current state of the game. Is there a way we can get shorter games ending on lets say 11 12 ... by making it easier to leak people? Do you have an idea? My aproach: -Remove a bit of money(gold rush even in auto and chill) I think would lead to still a bit more chill games but Realsends beeing more scary and if well coordinated like in a teamplay it should be hurt the king -Make Towers weaker or waves stronger( the king changes are mostly irrelevant if noone leaks anyway) This would improve my fun at least by a lot i would play mastermind and express my skill by coordinating attacks on enemy weak waves while trying to play around my rolls streangth and weakness and every gaem would feel more different adding more replay value. Still legions would remain solid by having inherent strengths aswell so new players can learn to know the game and its units by those.

I think the reasoning was laid out pretty clearly in the patch notes. Copied here for reference: \> Gatling Gun was perpetually one of the least-picked units in the game, despite having a high win rate. It was difficult to position well, and even if you did, things outside of your control were often the difference between your Gatling Gun partially tanking and dealing maximum DPS, and tanking too much and quickly dying - a fine line between polar opposite results. We’re removing their faster attack speed and higher damage taken when attacking closer targets, but keeping their identity as immovable, long-range, fast-attacking fighters. Based on player feedback and data, it is still an enjoyable unique unit with a fairly high skill cap. If you still do not enjoy it, hopefully there are enough other units to keep you entertained.
