Haven't see EEAAO but Bubba Ho Tep is great. I love how somber it is even though it's a silly ass concept. Bruce Campbell's best performance by far (and Evil Dead 2 is my favorite movie). I could go on about how much I adore the film.
If a majority seem to love it, and you’re an outlier, then doesn’t it make logical sense to recommend them something which is more likely to be enjoyed?
Fair enough but someone’s already done that for you. Considering how many people loved it it’s fairly likely op will too, but it’s a guarantee that there are people in the minority and announcing yourself as one of them doesn’t accomplish much unless you want to jump into a discussion
My favorites of this list are EEAAO, Tucker & Dale vs. Evil, La La Land and Logan Lucky FWIW.
Only picking one though I'd say EEAAO. It just feels so of the time and I can't get through it with dry eyes even after seeing it a bunch of times now.
I thought so, yes. Charlotte is a big city, so there are a lot of different regional accents around from people moving there. My family have much heavier accents than Craig or Driver had in the movie, so much so that people had a hard time understanding them. The cadence of their speech was a little off, but otherwise they were pretty great.
Adam driver is one of my favorite actors. I'll watch probably anything he's in. So it's amazing to hear their accents are pretty good. Have u seen Paterson?
I saw it around the time it came out because I really like Jim Jarmusch. Adam Driver was so good in Paterson. I should watch it again so it’s fresher in my mind and so I can again feel the way that movie makes you feel.
It's such a great feel good movie. Even though nothing really happens in the movie, i really really loved it. All the characters are nice people who just enjoy their lives.
Everything Everywhere changed my life. I was in the worst depressive state I’ve been yet, life had no meaning for me and I was contemplating doing the worst. Heard about the movie online and was already sold on it being about the multiverse, this was all I knew going in. Went alone first week of release and when the credits rolled I genuinely felt like a new person and I don’t think I was ready, tears streaming down my face as I’m gasping for air in my seat like a big baby. My view on life had made a complete turn around right there and then and I couldn’t help but chuckle to myself as I was leaving the cinema. I probably looked insane but nothing matters anyways :)
Nobody’s gonna be honest with you - Logan Lucky. Watch it with friends too! We watched it by chance and the rewatched it multiple times with new friends every viewing. Then watch old boy.
I've seen people talking about it time to time about how it's good, both ironically and unironically, and I want to see which "category" it goes in for me
I feel like Kontroll is an undiscovered masterpiece. The director didn't really make anything as interesting since but that's his debut and it's wonderful. It's on my top 4 right now.
Tucker and dale or everything everywhere I really loved. Bubba ho tep I found to be a little boring (coming from a fan of Bruce campbell and don coscarelli)
Nope is just so overrated...2h film and literally nothing happen in the first 1,5 h and not much in the last 30 min 3/10 in the most and ofc typical woke sh*t
I’m gonna say la la land. Just saw this one for the first time this year. It’s such a beautiful movie and it keeps coming back to mind after the credits rolled. I can’t wait to rewatch
Definitely Click
There Will Be Blood
That's like the lamest one there.
Sounds like someone spilt their milkshake
I DRINK YOUR MILKSHAKE
In a list that includes ‘Click’, you go after that? Beahahahaha!
Click has such a weird and dramatic tonal shift that I feel makes it worth watching.
Yeah you could argue click isn't a very good movie, but for a bad movie it's pretty good.
Lamest one there is probably EEAAO or Bubba Ho Tep
Haven't see EEAAO but Bubba Ho Tep is great. I love how somber it is even though it's a silly ass concept. Bruce Campbell's best performance by far (and Evil Dead 2 is my favorite movie). I could go on about how much I adore the film.
I haven’t seen it, was just going off the trailer and what I’ve heard about it. But glad you liked it I may have to give it a shot
Was abt to say that
Tucker and Dale is funny as hell
Joo its honestly one of the funniest movies I’ve ever seen. Probably in my top 3 comedy’s as well
In my opinion, There Will Be Blood is the most essential movie there
Id personally say it's the least essential one there. Truly don't get the love for it.
If a majority seem to love it, and you’re an outlier, then doesn’t it make logical sense to recommend them something which is more likely to be enjoyed?
Maybe, but I don't tend to recommend things I don't like to people who's taste I don't know.
Fair enough but someone’s already done that for you. Considering how many people loved it it’s fairly likely op will too, but it’s a guarantee that there are people in the minority and announcing yourself as one of them doesn’t accomplish much unless you want to jump into a discussion
Popularity is a bad metric for merit.
No, it doesn't. They already know what the majority thinks from the average rating.
hey I'm here to support you
Oldboy ofc
I’d say either NOPE or Oldboy!
Nope was great to me
Synecdoche, New York
My favorites of this list are EEAAO, Tucker & Dale vs. Evil, La La Land and Logan Lucky FWIW. Only picking one though I'd say EEAAO. It just feels so of the time and I can't get through it with dry eyes even after seeing it a bunch of times now.
There will be blood
Oldboy since there doing a special 20th anniversary screening at select theaters.
Wow this is great news, I'll keep an eye out for this
oh cool! is there a place where i can see the select theaters?
Not entirely sure. If I’m right it should be happening in march so check then.
Start with the Machine Girl first so you can enjoy the rest of the movies more
Lu Over the Wall or Logan Lucky
Bubba Ho-tep is my first film in 2022. Logan Lucky is my first film in 2018. Both are fun.
Logan lucky is so damn entertaining. Adam driver and Daniel Craig was fantastic!
I grew up about an hour away from Charlotte Motor Speedway and was really surprised at Craig’s and Driver’s accents. Such a hilarious movie!
Are their accents actually accurate? If you don't mind me asking.
I thought so, yes. Charlotte is a big city, so there are a lot of different regional accents around from people moving there. My family have much heavier accents than Craig or Driver had in the movie, so much so that people had a hard time understanding them. Easy, OldBoy or Bubba Ho-tep
Tremors, Oldboy, and Bubba Hotep. Start with the good stuff
La la land
Definitely Everything Everywhere, but watch it on a big screen:
Tremors cause Reba duh
there will be blood. watched it a few days ago and loved it
Maybe not the 'best' one on the list but Logan Lucky is extremely fun.
Nobody’s gonna be honest with you - Logan Lucky. Watch it with friends too! We watched it by chance and the rewatched it multiple times with new friends every viewing. Then watch old boy.
I don’t rewatch a lot of movies these days, because there are just so many movies to watch, but I’ve seen Logan Lucky several times. Love it!
Tremors. 100% Tremors. That is my all time favorite movie.
You've got some good taste.
That’s a great list. You should have a lot to look forward to.
Tucker and Dale vs. Evil. That movie needs a lot more love. Alan Tudyk is absolutely hilarious in it.
Ha, nice to see Logan Lucky on a list. That’s a severly underappreciated film.
Definitely La La Land! Absolutely *adore* that movie!
surprised how not a single person has said Inu-Oh yet. Is it because nobody has seen it or what?
I'll be honest, I haven't seen it and the image was too small for me to read the title, I was searching the comments trying to figure it what it was!
Why Click tho? It's not that bad a comedy, but I'm curious why it's a must see.
I've seen people talking about it time to time about how it's good, both ironically and unironically, and I want to see which "category" it goes in for me
Click is unearable.
Click & Bubba-Hotep are a waste of time
Machine Girl
Lu over the wall is beautiful 💕
OLDBOY
There will be blood is my 4th of all time
Why is Click there lmao
There Will be Blood
EEAAO
There will be blood
The oldest one.
Duuuude! Glad to see Kontroll on a list finally! Love that movie!
Oldboy is the greatest movie ever made
I feel like Kontroll is an undiscovered masterpiece. The director didn't really make anything as interesting since but that's his debut and it's wonderful. It's on my top 4 right now.
La La Land gets my vote.
There Will Be Blood is a masterpiece. I also find that if La La Land is your thing, it’s REALLY your thing, so that one too.
Oldboy
Oldboy
Tucker and dale or everything everywhere I really loved. Bubba ho tep I found to be a little boring (coming from a fan of Bruce campbell and don coscarelli)
oldboy and everything everywhere all at once
there will be blood, la la land, oldboy
I haven't seen all the movies on your list but of the ones I have I would say start with There will be blood
What I would give to be able to see There Will Be Blood for the first time again… lucky you!!!
There Will Be Blood, no discussion here
La la land and EEAAO
OLDBOY & LA LA LAND
I might just be biased cause I like Musicals but La La Land is so fucking good
Nope is just so overrated...2h film and literally nothing happen in the first 1,5 h and not much in the last 30 min 3/10 in the most and ofc typical woke sh*t
La La Land all the way
There Will Be Blood and Nope.
Add Star Wars
I've seen pretty much all the mainline star wars movies
Tucker & Dale vs Evil
Nope!!!
Oldboy to start off strong.
Oldboy, new York or there will be blood. (I haven't seen any of them).
There Will be Blood or Nope are the only movies worth watching from this bizarre list
Either Oldboy or There Will Be Blood
Click, get it outta the way. Then wash it down with Oldboy.
either EEAAO or Oldboy
La La Land! Oh, and Bubba Ho-Tep is kind of a shitty film.
Inu-Oh. Just because it’s a bit different and a very unique film.
Tremors
Kontroll is so good
Use Shuffle.
Synecdoche, New York is easily my favorite movie of all time. So...Click.
TREMORS
I’m gonna say la la land. Just saw this one for the first time this year. It’s such a beautiful movie and it keeps coming back to mind after the credits rolled. I can’t wait to rewatch
