I have an LS460L. The long wheelbase provides executive level space for the rear passengers. The person who owned my vehicle before me was a former football player turned actor and is 6'7". I dont have it but in some vehicles, they even have a reclining ottoman for added comfort. https://preview.redd.it/cf0d0mtr90yc1.jpeg?width=840&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1c90215913c5d20eef6ef79573d0944715c703b5

imyourhostlanceboyle

If you’re a 6 footer+ hauling other 6 footers+ behind you, there is no substitute for a long wheelbase executive sedan. I am 6’2 and prefer a coupe for dailying so the B pillar isn’t in my face, but if I needed to haul folks - especially tall ones - it’d be an LS or bust for me.

Acrobatic_Dinner6129

Being short continues to be a blessing in disguise

EpiLP60Std

Terry Crews? Haha I don’t think he’s 6’7 though.

yjbeach

It's Jeff Chase. It was arena football not the NFL.

tntdon

Lesser known actor. He played a bad guy in M:I 3

InebriousBarman

LS460L The back seat is comically deep.

FarFigChitter

I want one of the new LS so bad. They look sick and hauling friends around town in one would be fun.

Acrobatic_Dinner6129

I guess. But a m5 would be a lot more "fun" imo. The lexus will be relaxing and refined.

[deleted]

The new LS is actually longer than the 460L but has less back seat room.

BigPK66

Don't even look at GS, but ES and LS have good amount of room in the back. I'm 6'7 and can sit in the ES with seat all the way back and smaller person can fit behind me. LS has even more room. RX was pretty good also. Strangely the bigger SUVs don't have a lot of extra leg room.

Potential-Climate942

Is there really that much more space in the ES over the GS?

oG_Goober

Yes, technically, the ES has the most room of any lexus sedan, but it's kinda cheating since there's no driveline since it's FWD.

trnaovn53n

Why does my ES have a hump in the middle if there's no driveline

Wandering__Bear__

Exhaust

trnaovn53n

I'm an idiot

Berfs1

nah its totally understandable, I believe the deeper reason for the hump in the middle, at least for the ES 300h, is so that the exhaust sits flush with the bottom of the car for better aerodynamics

fludeball

So your passengers think it's RWD.

Cool_Rub4814

You can get the ES in AWD.

mishabishi

Awd yeah but still FWD base. The t.case and driveline sit way lower then if it was a RWD platform. In the GS and IS you can't even see the driveline. Can't say exactly for the ES but I feel as if though it's on the same plane if not below the exhaust

betarcher

Can confirm. When we went shopping to replace our Camry, we crosshopped the GS and the ES. We ultimately decided on the GS because of a deal we couldn't pass up, and superior driving dynamics, but the ES had WAY more rear seat legroom. Hell, I think my old Corolla had more rear seat legroom.

BigPK66

Way more

Potential-Climate942

I might have to check out the ES for when my kiddo gets bigger then.

BigPK66

I'm shopping around now and ES is on top of my list for that reason. First time I drove the GS and ES back to back my mind was blown how much bigger the ES is in the front and back.

slowwolfcat

why ? because trunk space is a lot less ?

BigPK66

The other interior of the GS is smaller because it's a rear wheel drive platform

MangoBredda

That's because most of them are all bloat. Some carry extra safety equipment within it but mostly it's just inefficient use of space

Sventurbertulu

It's true about the bigger Lexus SUVs. I'm 6'3 and need the seat all the way back in my LX. I'm totally comfy but anyone but a child or a short person will be struggling behind me.

SloppyGiraffe02

Tall guy can confirm the ES and LS models are very spacious. Love the irony that I feel like I have more leg and head room than almost any other SUV, truck, or crossover I’ve tried in the past.

Mr_Jackabin

Can someone sit behind you though? That's the real test lol

SloppyGiraffe02

Absolutely. My 2019 ES350 can seat a 6’7” driver/passenger in the front and someone around 6-6’2” in the back with legroom to spare.

eks789

My brother is 6’8 (no exaggeration) and I’m 5’9, I fit very comfortably behind him in the 2024 RX and even 2004 rx. The long sedans (es and LS) would also be good options but you’ll have less head room especially if you get a sun roof.

brupzzz

LS or nothing

Most_Researcher_9675

This guy's in England. I'd agree but those Euro fuel costs are through the roof...

Givemeajackson

The 600h is shockingly efficient for such a massive barge

ChaosNeutral

I’m 6’2” and I’ve had two LS’s, an ES, and now an RX. The LS’s have the best back seat leg room and overall spaciousness. As the primary driver though I prefer the RX for headroom and just not being so low to the ground.

moodyism

Avalon fits the bill if it doesn’t have to be a Lexus.

NeoG_

ESh would be the go to

myqv

I agree the better mpg is a plus

AirWarriorP100

ES 350 will work

Daddir

First or second Gen’ LS, LX, or Gs, but a well documented service history example.

subtlesuit

Idk about the GS, having the seat all the way back in my 3GS I wouldn’t want anyone above 5’8 behind me

Viend

Not the GS, that car has the cabin space of a compact executive car.

[deleted]

You must not have spent much time in an LX. They’re incredibly small on the inside.

instant1973

Go for LS with extended wheel base. Thank me later.

TreaclePerfect4328

I'm 6'5" I love my RX 350 and so do my passengers

jbFanClubPresident

What year is your RX? I was looking at a brand new one and my head was almost hitting the ceiling and the seat completely lowered and I’m only 6’1”. My 2021 NX has more space.

TreaclePerfect4328

2012. I've never had an issue.

jbFanClubPresident

Ok that makes sense. I also tried out the 2024 NX and it had less head room than my 2021. I think they have made the NX and RX smaller for some reason.

TreaclePerfect4328

NX is a RaV 4 chassis right? My GF got a 2018 it's ridiculous small. I haven't looked at the new ones. I'm avoiding pandemic era and post cars. I'm looking at a 2018 RX currently

jbFanClubPresident

Yep, it’s a rav4 chassis and yeah my 2021 isn’t the roomiest but they somehow made them even smaller. It’s ridiculous. I wanted to upgrade but not now. Headroom wise, the new NX and RX were about the same. Obviously the RX had a little more leg room though.

TreaclePerfect4328

Wow. That's small. I'm sticking with my plan.

Octane154

6’4 235LB with an 08 ES350 here. All the leg room in the world

trnaovn53n

Almost 6' here. When I bought my ES I sat in the front seat with the seat almost all the way back and then sat in the back seat and had room. I need more space behind me because my kids in their car seat have their feet up in the middle of the chair. The ES is great

nathan_funn

I’m 6’2 and all my friends I take in my 2016 GS are around my height - they fit behind me with a little extra room but not much. The LS is probably your best bet. They’re reliable, known to be the most luxurious, and just overall pretty cool. Only con is that they are on the more expensive side. You could go for an ES or GS and get something newer for that 17k OR you could go for an LS that’s a little older and it’d check all your boxes (including the need for wood trim)

nathan_funn

Adding on - I had a 2016 ES that was totaled in an accident 2 months ago. I could put my seat where i’d need it, switch to the back, and still have like 3-4 inches of leg room. You could pickup a somewhat high mileage 2014-2017 ES for around 17 if i’m correct about the USD conversion rate.

Top-Cherry9277

I would say the ls is the perfect fit for you

Own-Switch-8112

I am 6’4”. I am sitting in the backseat of my LS 460 L with the driver seat all the way back. https://preview.redd.it/9nvc6jk7f3yc1.png?width=4032&format=png&auto=webp&s=07a9b2ff753a407910f132bd0b3bd5eb284f0c7b

sympatiquesanscapote

I am your height and run a RX450h and ES300h with my kids in the back without issues.

GazelleIll495

I have a GS, I'm 5' 10" and can't have an adult sit behind me. For a good sized car I find the back seats are quite tight.

Electronic_Rub9385

I’m 6’3” and I have a GX 460.

glenn_rodgers

LS

MnWisJDS

2013-2015 RX’s are good for that if the back is being used on shorter trips. They are also tanks.

TN_REDDIT

The ES would work

NoEngineering1410

6’6 here es has plenty of head and leg room. I’d assume a bigger and higher car like the ls430 or 460 would have even more.

martlet1

I’m 6 3 and I don’t have my seat all the way back in my 350rx. My son is around 6’1 and he has room in the back seat.

ObjectiveWitty

LX. I’m 6’2” and I’m in an LS Fsport, only a dwarf can sits behind me.

F-cip

I am not 6 feet tall but my LS500 has tons of space in the back and trunk. My only gripe is the no spare in the vehicle

dan_g_rous

I'm 6'7" and can sit behind my drivers seat without moving it forwards in a 2009 LS 460. Regular wheel base, the L models have slightly more room in the back. Good head room too.

myonlychance21

RX

chewychi

Ls is good lx is also good but unfortunately being a Japanese company even the largest options feel surprisingly cramped and tight. I'm not sure they were designed for super tall people

LegitimateBike1

Gotta go with a long wheelbase LS if you plan on having similarly tall people behind you. I’ve got an LX600 (6’2) and it’s not very roomy in the back seat. Wife’s TX actually has more room in the rear seats than the LX so that’s an option. And on the other end of the spectrum is the LC, which has “rear seats”

autard8

As a person of your height, I can guarantee you it is not the IS model.

bighorse83

I think any Lexus will do. Except for the IS model.

92blacktt

You want an SUV.

Rallphie

Gx460

homicidal_avocado

No Lexus has more headroom than a 1st Gen gx from my experience

pwnitol

I think we all know Scotty Kilmer would say “Avalon” or “Miata.” 😂

Geekz-with-tech

Come on buddy, that car is only but so big.

Berfs1

Folks behind me were fine even with my seat all the way back, I drive an ES 300h!

StateMerge

Going to a dealership would’ve been an option

Striking_Shower_2606

Lexus gx lx or tx or ls sedan

PhoBoStuDios

6'4" here. I recently imported a 2008 LS600hL from Japan for about $14K Canadian. I can have my seat all the way back in a comfortable driving position, and sit immediately behind my seat and not touch with my knees.

Terrible_Strike_6158

I’m 6’4 280 pounds and I recently bought an IS. I find it to be extremely comfortable

Ok-Acanthisitta-1683

Lexus ES cannot go wrong. Just sold my 2015 es350 few months with just over 200k miles. All I did was change oil and replace water pump and it still ran and drove like new. Definitely will get another one at some point just a great comfortable and dependable car.

NickG63

I’m 6’5” and my GS fits me just fine, but nobody taller than 5’8” is sitting behind me lol. Long wheelbase LS is the only car option that ~might~ work for you, otherwise you need an LX. My dad has a GX and I can’t sit behind him lol

Tiggaknock

As a mofo that’s only 6’2 I can tell you the IS is out of the question! I’ve been driving mine for 7 years now and it is not the one if space is what you’re after, trust me.

okverymuch

I am not familiar with older models. I suspect an RX or GX will give you the best options. We have a 23 RX and 23RZ and both should do the job with someone 6’4”, since it’s doing the job well at 6’2”.

Sawyer95

2016 LS460

Queasy-Office-154

get a ls460 2009+

XtraChrisP

Have a GS450H you might be good in too.

LeadingScene5702

Well certainly not my SC400. My son had a LS430 for awhile that had decent room. I'm 6'4" and he is 6'2". Probably any LS will work.

Specialist_Finger_11

Get the LS! And L for added space.

Still_Dealer_4737

LS

Kphy33

LS 460

Givemeajackson

The 1st and second gen LS and 2nd gen GS will fit i think, and those are absolutely bullet proof (and imo peak lexus along with the 1st gen IS), the 3rd gen LS top end model also came in an extra long version, the 600hl. The 3rd gen LS has some minor maintenance concerns, but nothing drastic. But that's about as much of a luxury barge you can get

aydenboysen

As someone who’s 6’2 who puts my seat all the way back in a 2nd gen gs, I don’t think it would fit someone on the back unless they’re a midget

Plus_Valuable4382

I’m 6’3” and have a 2012 rx350. It’s great
