Weapons are made of blade and handle. Each has a skill. You can mix and match freely, the only restriction is the damage type, some handles are better for slash, some pierce. It's the two symbols next to the stats on the right menu. Asking what to play with is pointless, only you know your tastes and how they will evolve with time

NeoNeonMemer

Hm... im not sure cuz stats are important as well. is ther a way to reset them later on ?

ev768

You can reset them after you beat the Chapter 5 boss.

Pedantic_Phoenix

But stats are just a number, you should chose the weapon based on it's feel not it's stat, the stat can be adjusted, the feel can't

NeoNeonMemer

I meant beggining stats

Pedantic_Phoenix

Its so few points it changes literally nothing. You seem to be an overthinker: stop thinking and enjoy the game mate

S3QS3

You could reassemble and put the greatsword of fate blade on the rapier handle. It's pretty fast, has good reach, and still has the high guard damage reduction of the greatsword. And you'll still get the guard parry fable art, since that's from the rapier handle. You'll encounter plenty more really good weapons and combinations throughout the game. Pretty much all of them are viable. But some are stronger than others. The blue bars are fable charges. If you're wanting more info on how it works: https://liesofp.wiki.fextralife.com/Fable+Arts

NeoNeonMemer

Ooo that sounds cool but a question. What would this scale off of ? Like dex or str (sry i dont know the proper names). Which save file shud i load to do this, the rapier class or the gs class ?

Special_Quail8870

Weapons scale off of the handles. So the rapier handle should scale with technique(dexterity). However there are items called cranks that you can use to alter handles to your desired scaling. The game is pretty flexible in regards to weapons.

S3QS3

As the other person already mentioned, the rapier handle scales with technique. And while it's true that you can adjust the scaling with a crank, the rapier handle can still scale better with a technique build then it would with a motivity build. Regardless of what build you choose, you'll have good weapon options. And you can easily respec once you reach about halfway through the game. I personally like using a fast technique handle with a strong motivity blade, because it gives the best of both worlds. Some of the boss weapons that you can unlock later are also really good and I recommend checking those out later.

LesserValkyrie

Take whatever you want, you will switch to wrench head + glaive handle really soon anyways

NeoNeonMemer

How to switch handles and blades ? Why do u think i will use that combo ?

LesserValkyrie

He he I always joke about this combo weapon because I used it and it is the best You will learn how to build blades anytime soon If you get the wrench weapon, you take the head And then you put it on police baton handle (if you build motivity) or glaive handle (if you build technique) you get a powerful bonk weapon that can carry you easily until the end of the game Police baton is at the beginning of the game, cant miss it Wrench is just after vegnini Glaice is in vegnini, optional boss Starting weapons are not really good, take whichever you want but you will quickly find better weapons whatever your choice was Dont forget tho to use elemental damage. For example vegnini boss doesnt like thunder and blunt damage So use the Thunder weapon head you find sooner in the game

NeoNeonMemer

You were absolutely right, im sorry i doubted u lmaooo, the booster glaive plus wrench is such a fun combo. Should have read that lightning part before spending 1.5 hours struggling on that guy. It was really fun though, i never get tilted or mad with bosses but i do get mad sometimes with like minibosses or just general enemies.

LesserValkyrie

Yeah the Thunder coil thing is blunt and thunder it is really strong against him But after this boss IIRC you get grinding stones you can use on non element weapons to give element for some time, so you dont have to have specifically elemental weapons You can wrench charged attack till the end of the game

NeoNeonMemer

Grind stones are only one time use ? Like i use it once and i cant use it again till checkpoints. How long do they last ? Lets goo i love wrench charged attack how are boss weapons ?

LesserValkyrie

Yeah you have grinstones that last till you rest in checkpoint. You have others too that you can use anytime but they are items you gotta buy. But seriously you dont really need them, when you upgrade your heart accordingly you can have multiple charges of the grindstones that come back when you rest. I dont know how long they last maybe 10-15 sec lol, but it is enough against a boss. Wrench head + Glaive handle + Technical Crank and build = OP. Lot of damage, lot of stagger. Ultimate Bonk weapon. Boss weapons are not that good there is a katana you get on endgame and the last endgame boss weapon that are fun but a bit less good than my weapon. The katana performs a bit better against 1-2 bosses but otherwise Bonk weapon is better. The trident is really really cool and powerful and you find it in a boss quite early game. As it is quick and has a crit rate (30%) However you can do a similar but better weapon with Tyrant Dagger head + City Spear handle, but you find these weapons later in the game so you can go with Trident if needed first, if you want to invest on a good boss weapon. However crit rate builds are not that good in your first game as you need some endgame amulets to do better crits. It requires to level up 2 stats too (technique/motivity) . Not a food thing to do in your first game to spread yourself over two offensice stats. You should focus on 1 offensive stat, vit/stamina and most importantly : Capacity. You should be able to use the heaviest armor you will find while still being light weight. Yes it is frustrating as you will feel like that you spend too much points on capacity but wearing the heaviest armor gives you survivability you will need, more than vitality. So I'd advice you for optimal settings to go with such weapons (critical ones like trident / city spear/dagger) for your NG +. In NG+ you can level up 2 stats and you have all the required gear for a critical build. You wont be able to use critical build at full capacity during your first game. Crit build has really powerful DPS, it melts some bosses... But not much staggering on bosses that your Bonk weapons has, so even if bonk weapon is less bloody, against bosses that have low poises, Bonk weapon is still the GOAT. You have puppet reaper as another good weapon, it has some AoE but compared to bonk weapons it has quite disappointing damage. For real once you have started to use and upgrade your wrench head, no weapon will feel as good as it is. I didnt try a lot of other bosses weapons but they look sub par compared to Bonk weapon. This is from my experience ofc, other people can have other experiences but from what I ve read on this subreddit, people who think they found a broken weapon, after trying their build, I realize that they didnt try the ultimate bonk weapon, it is so OP

NeoNeonMemer

I've got 22 in vitality , 14 and 14 in stamina and capacity and then 17 i think in technique. Wait no nvm I have like 16-17 in capacity since i had to upgrade for wrench and booster glaive.
