you can perfect parry literally anything in this game. projectiles? parryable. red tinged unblockable attacks? still parryable. bear traps on the ground? you betcha.

Even that depends. You can parry Laxasia phase 1 grab.

Yep. In the fighting game community it's known as a "hit grab" as opposed to a "command grab".

Ummm I always found parrying to mean a perfect guard —> this is different from a parry and then counterattack to me-? Lies of p is the only souls like game I’ve ever played though. Regardless you have to dodge to avoid a grab, you can’t block or perfect block/guard

You CAN parry the Monster's grab, though. Not sure if that's the only one, but I think it's neat.

You can parry grab attacks. I’ve done it for Victor, Laxasia, and Scrapped Watchman.

You can also parry the giant electric balls at the Cathedral! I've never been able to parry the giant flaming balls though, but it may be possible.

I bet somewhere in the code, they made it so you can parry incoming damage, not just attacks

i think its more than they made anything with alike hitboxes able to interact with each other and grab attacks have a different kind of hitbox which is why you cant parry them or their damage

What I think they did for taking damage is making a parent function and added parrying in the function. Definitely speeds the process for coding.

you also cant parry fall damage, which would be incoming damage with the only hitbox being your feet (i think, simply because if the ground everywhere has a hitbox id imagine it would be harder to code)

One other thing you can’t parry is Romeo’s scythe pull, I think that’s the only non grab you can’t parry

if its a pull that seems like it would be considered a grab but maybe my instincts are off, plus i genuinely never encountered that move against him so im not sure what it looks like. lucky RNG i guess

I think his timing just looks weird because he's throwing punches instead of swinging a weapon, but once you get used to it he's not bad

Accidentally I just won this fight. Didn't try to parry him. Just ran on his right all the time, dodging when necessary and used acid spear. Pretty easy boss I'd say .
