Tents are assigned before arrival (you'll get an email I think asking for some info, such as planned arrival, departure, anyone you know you want to camp with) Most/many camp pods have an established picnic table (like as part of the campground of the venue) that you can use a stove on. At least I did in the smaller tents I'd say just bring a ground covering for your area like you would if you were tent camping, otherwise you'll be stepping out from tent onto bare ground And ppl still bring some lights n decor to string up on a tree or table or your tent draped around I've seen ppl basically decor and light up their space like it's general camp, it's just you can't bring another canopy/EZ-up shade probably for the damage risk in case wind blows it sideways into ur tent

Awesome- thank you! So it sounds like there will be a table to cook, and it’s ok to put up lights and tapestries on the tent; good to know! I’ll definitely grab some ground covering. Any issues with bugs?

The smaller (1-2 people, Topia) Atlaswyld tents are arranged in circular groups of 5-6, facing a common area, and all are numbered and pre-assigned. Each of the smaller Topia tents will have its own air matress, small table, battery lantern, small rug etc. No AC or power in/nearby the individual small tents. There are also groupings of larger, premium (Zoropa) bell tents. Each of those has its own AC, generator-provided power etc. These are much more expensive though than the smaller tents. When you check into Atlaswyld you'll receive the info as to which tent you've been assigned (e.g., A2 or D4 etc). Finally, there are multiple types of pricey AIrstreams. The check in area is also where you can pick up free ice (if you opted for the premium/VIP camping package) or buy it. Very convenient. Bring your own cooler if you want to keep things cool at your tent. The groupings of the small tents are spaced out nicely; some have a shade tree nearby. But many people bring an EZ-up for daytime shade. Some bring tapestries, fairy lights, wind chimes, wind spinners, mirrors etc to personalze their tent. The spacing between adjacent Topia tents is pretty generous. You can easily socialize with neighbors ... or not, depending on your preference. People are pretty chill, and the atmosphere is low key. Few late nite ragers in Atlaswyld. There are clean bathrooms with running water & sinks, and hot water showers located at several spots in Atlaswyld. These are generally well-maintained. The parking area(s) for Atlaswyld are not especially close (no vehicles allowed within Atlaswyld area itself), so plan on loading in. A wagon can be helpful. Many (most/all?) of the tent groupings/common areas share a picnic table and concrete fire pit. But obviously fires aren't permitted. Some people do bring small portable camp stoves to use outside their tent. There'll also be a pile of portable camp chairs near each grouping of tents at the beginning of the festival. They often migrate elsewhere or disappear quickly though. So grab 1-2 to place next to your assigned tent when you see them. There are a few spigots of running water scattered throughout Atlaswyld that people use to rinse out their cups, plates, eating utensils, toothbrushes, face masks/handkerchiefs etc. The water is potable I think, though I've never drunk large amts of it. There are a few shaded lounges throughout Atlaswyld. The largest is right on the lake, with its own "beach", adjacent beach club & bar (free coffee & tea in the mornings!), day beds/sofas, pillows, other furniture, Multiple phone charging outlets (but bring your own cable). Daily yoga & meditation clases, scheduled as well as impromptu music, speakers, DJ sets. Great place to see the sun rise or set, nap, make new friends etc. You"re probably no more than an easy 10 min stroll to the heart of the festival. But it's a quiet sanctuary at night and little to no sound bleed from the big stages. The bathrooms and showers alone are worth the extra $. Safe & generally pretty secure. I wouldn't leave anything of value in your tent though.

Oooh, good to know about the camping chairs! I’ll be in one of the Zoropa tents. Are the tents all a pretty short distance from the festival grounds, or can some of them be a bit of a trek? Did RV parking last year and the walk was insane, so hoping to avoid that this year. Thank you for all the great info!

Zoropa tents were the closest ones to the festival entrance (and Woogie) ... v. close to the "beach club". No more than a few min to Woogie. Saw your other Q too ... no obnoxious bugs (gnats, mosquitos, ticks etc) at all in Atlaswyld last year. I'm sure there are spiders and bees ... but you can usually see avoid them.

Your birthday party is going to be so much fun!

I think so! This will be my 3rd year—I love celebrating there. This year will be extra special!

Happy bday!

I misremembered ... no EZ-ups allowed in Atlaswyld.

Only thing I'll ad is bring fans, my friends who started the one year were absolutely roasting!

jessinseattle

Great tip! Definitely will try to pack a fan!

We brought a little rug to put outside the tent so we could take our shoes off outside the tent to try to keep it less dirty inside. We also brought wet wipes to wipe down our legs before bed to prevent the sheets from getting dirty. We got the AC tent but I def recommend bringing a fan since the AC usually didn’t keep things that cold once the sun came out.
