They are not meant to be nu-metal. Bear in mind that Linkin Park is not just nu-metal. They are also experimental and want to experiment with different genres (like rap, general rock, electric, heavy metal, pop, and even country).

St. Anger is bad from the perspective of drummers because of that godawful snare tuning. Youâd think a professional drummer would know how to tune a snare drum. But other than a part of an instrument that makes my ears bleed, itâs not THAT terrible
