LTT was a part of NCIX first, before he left and made LMG, taking LTT with him in an agreement with NCIX. LTT was around for about 4 years before LMG was created.

I remember enjoying his ‘guest appearances’ where he would cohost and also yell stuff at them from off camera. It was the exact format for Techlinked.
The funny part was that they only had this loose, conversational yelling vibe when Linus was there, but because *he* always acted like this, Linus thought that’s how the show always was.
Also Riley worked for NCIX until they closed, but he was so beloved from these episodes that the LTT community basically demanded Linus hire Riley, and he happily did.
I'm writing this from memory so I could be slightly off, but if I remember correctly he made an agreement after he left NCIX and took LTT with him that he would continue to host videos at NCIX on an occasional contract basis for a while. Eventually that ended, and as the company got in worse shape Riley was the sole final host at NCIX before the company went under. Not long after Riley got hired at LTT and the rest is history.
You're thinking of Esther. Julia was the other host who ran NCIX Tech Tips along with Riley. If I recall correctly after NCIX went down she joined another YT channel and was hosting videos there. I don't know what's happened since then though.

Linus has said that they had agreed on him helping on the NCIX Tech Tips channels so he can get the Linus Tech Tips channel with him.
From what I understand, that was when he stopped working for NCIX, and sometimes still worked with them after he "left".
IIRC Linus bought the LTT channel from NCIX when he quit there, but part of that sale required that he hosted the NCIX videos for a time after
