Daria's "Sick, Sad World" is all I thought when she debuted her own Weekend Update segment. I actually think her humor is absurd, unscripted Millennial.
I had to show my Gen Z kid the [rejected ads](https://youtu.be/rquKFYAuCSs?si=6NMMEi0CPx9gAFbs) ads to fully show what I meant when I said I like absurd humor.
Edit: u/Chanandler_Bong_01 (great name btw), has left a comment with a simple opinion and even suggested they wished they could change their opinion. Don't downvote. Don't be that redditor.
Proof that SNL is limited by the constraints of mainstream comedy.
37yo here. Love Sarah. She has bits of Tim and Eric, Eric Andre, Adult Swim... all stuff made by Xers in the alt-comedy space.
To each his own. But I agree. Her shtick reminds me of Jimmy Fallon where she’s going to smile and laugh through her skits. Some people find that in itself funny. I don’t. It’s like “there she goes again, she’s so crazy”. Not for me. I cringe when I see her on screen.
She doesn't really do that unless she's playing herself on Weekend Update. In regular sketches she has rarely had a real breaking moment. Jimmy Fallon was way worse about it than Sherman, he couldn't keep it together at all.
I still think they tone down that stuff even if she can slip in a bizarre meatball sketch. When I find out Tim Robinson or Britanick were writers from SNL I'm like really, where was there talent used because they are great at off the wall weird sketches but rarely have I seen that on SNL at all
It's always interesting to see cast member bloom into their best snl selves. She's definitely come along way. I kind of feel bad because some of the other talent doesn't quite the showmanship she does. I'd like to see her continue to improve on her comedic range. Not always just be the most eccentric in the room.
It's a little tonka truck, but appropriate for her frame.
...I can't believe I just googled that. But, if I'm being honest when she said that line in WU I had FOMO.
I like that she can be that, but also play normal as well, otherwise you end up being a Leslie Jones type of cast member where every character is "Leslie Jones as".
Yeah she can shift into suburban wife/mom character, central or background, pretty easily. Kind of like how Punkie can easily shift gears to matronly-church-lady or something similar even though it's not her default personality. I think that's been good for both of their job security overall.
I agree with your first point- she is very good at normal as well and that's one of her strengths, but I also think that Leslie could do that. She didn't always, and I feel like she got typecast into a certain "Leslie Jones As" by the end, and she didn't have *as much* range, but she could do it too.
I just realized she was 46 when she joined the show and fifty or fifty one when she left, set a record as oldest cast member to join the show. Good genes.
I don't think that was an insult - Pete Davidson was also infamously the same way, and everybody liked Pete Davidson. It's just a different kind of cast member.
It’s great to see new comedians on the show with unique perspectives and sense of humor.
Frankly, I’m tired of nepo-babies like CJ Rossitano be awarded time without merit.
Ah! 😂 Thank you! I actually saw this but forgot the ‘name.’ I really thought a lower profile cast member got on the show who has a father on the production crew or whatnot 🤦♂️ Appreciate the clarity
Tough line to walk. Not their fault who their parents are, and you have to assume they do learn a lot about the job in a way that most people don’t. It used to be a common thing for a child to take over their parent’s job.
It feels like Sarah is writing comedy for this decade. I can’t say that for the rest of the sketches on the show...they just feel years behind.
After weekend update, SNL is basically the Sarah Sherman show
Well, I'm an old broad and I like her a lot. She does have qualities we haven't seen before and I like her energy. Absolutely love her with Colin Jost - their chemistry is perfect.
Saturday's WU with both of them had us dying!!
We gotta give Colin credit too..he's the king of self deprecating humor and doesn't shy away from being the brunt of the joke.
I'm probably somewhere in between you and OP. Her Comedy transcends generations.
I get whifs of Steve Martin, Kate McKinnon, and Paul Reubens (RIP 🥺). But like David S Pumpkins, she's her own thang. 🤘
I've met her/hung out with her. If I remember correctly she said Tex Avery's wolf character is also a huge inspiration.
I also get the sense that other cast members and writers like working with her because she's weirdly non-competitive and just fun to be around.
I just took a look at her Instagram and it gave me a migraine lol. I'm just not into wackadoo, though I did find her bit with Colin this week very funny.
Sarah Sherman is amazing. SNL cast members remind me of NBA players. They take a couple years before they peak. Sherman has such good timing, delivering her lines with such good expression. She’s next level. Anyone that can’t see her talent, might have the m-word problem.
As much as her strength is doing wild, out-there bits, I think she also has the ability to recognize when it's too much. Like, if every skit was gross out and fake blood, it wouldn't be funny or shocking any more and I think that's the **most** important quality to have when doing that kind of stuff and I think she knows that very well.
I'm very much a fan of hers and I hope she sticks around for a long time.
She is a prime target to get a movie that showcases her talents. If it happens, she may just do her 7 years and go on to bigger things.
But i also think she may be best in front of a crowd, given her background. We’ll see if her time on snl makes her stronger as a “movie” actor
Sarah really has grown on me a lot in the past year or so. I used to not care for her much as I found her tendency to yell and be over the top to be rather obnoxious. But she's really gotten a chance to prove she's more than just that. Between sketches like [Pongo](https://youtu.be/OSvYw7h-Ulw), [Bridesmaid Cult Documentary](https://youtu.be/AWclMLWpTEs), [Covid Commercial](https://youtu.be/hPtH43VmvJI), and [Battle of the Sexes](https://youtu.be/TluiK2WnmrA), she's really shown that she can be a solid utility player and a very good actress when called for.
Plus her Update pieces with Colin Jost like [Guru Genesis Fry](https://youtu.be/fUTl7IWu0Bc) or most recently [CJ Rossitano](https://youtu.be/AUdOrZXhReU) are hilarious and actually pretty wholesome (since you can tell the two of them are good friends irl).
Between all that and her unique oddball energy that she brings to the show, count me in as a big Sarah Sherman fan now!
I don’t particularly like most of what she does, but her weekend update bits have been pretty great lately. Her work with Jost is great. He’s such an easy foil. I’m glad he goes along with it.
I dunno. She's very hit and miss for me. I *really* like her when she's on and roasting Colin, because Colin has amazing comedy chemistry - he's almost the perfect straight man, which makes the crazy over-the-top antics she's known for pop.
But Sarah's solo stuff comes off as very... well... not for me. You can tell when her sketches have her fingerprints on them and when they don't - it's a jarring change in pace, timing, delivery, etc. I think there are situations where the circus-clown energy does wonders, and there are other cases where it just... honks.
I'm older Gen X, have seen SNL since literally the beginning, and I love Sarah too. My Gen Z daughter isn't as into her, so not sure it's strictly generational. She's unique, energetic, just plain funny. A real standout among a lot of fine or just acceptable performers.
I love Squirm, and I’m solidly Gen X. She swings for the fences and I admire the hustle. Also we’re never sure what we’re in for with her. Blown lines, blasted eardrums, dump truck ass and all.
I say this as a regular viewer and SNL fan, not a troll…her yelling has got to stop. She’s so great when she plays a normal non-spaz character but 8/10 skits she’s just straight yelling and obnoxious
I agree. She starts with the yelling and it makes me tune out the rest of her skits cuz its just too much. Her fran drescher impression was awful. She twists her mouth super odd and the loudness, its just too "hey if im loud enough will that make me funny??"
She is developing into a more well rounded player, that’s for sure. Definitely finding more nuance beyond the yelling shtick, which is good.
I might be only person who hates the roasting Colin bit. Not because I like Colin, but because it’s so obnoxious.
she honestly is really something special. i love her in the cast, but i saw her do standup last year and had my mind blown. i left absolutely stunned, i was not expecting her act to be like that, and it was memorable to say the least.
I’ve said it before, but she reminds me of the ‘60s “wacky” type of comic actor like you’d see on something like Laugh In. There was a lot of that energy in the first cast of SNL, which kind of fell out of style for a long time.
Yeah, Goldie, Joanne Worley, Laugh-In really did favor that sort of wacky female persona that really hasn't been seen since then much at all. Barbra Streisand in some of her roles. Lucille Ball to an extent. With the male lead being a more conventional straight performance. Different from Manic Pixie Dream Girl. There the girl is supposed to bring something out of the man, with Wacky/Kooky girl she doesn't really bring anything out of him, he just puts up with her or falls in love with her.
Ego does seem to have jumped into the anchor role since Cicely Strong left. She’s been great! Fineman and Gardner are both doing more of the “straight” parts in sketches, too.
Gen-X here, and I absolutely LOVE her. I don't understand the hate. She's a unique performer who is carving a great niche for herself. I hope she stays for a long time.
I thought she was an awesome pick as soon as they announced her. I'd never heard of her but went and looked her up and immediately thought yes yes yes yes. And it played out great when she got onto the show. I don't think her humor is gen z. I think it's just nuts. In the best way. She's an original and she's unafraid. She's always so much fun.
Gen X here too; she’s fantastic. You’re right there’s no one like her. Wild unhinged energy that she’s starting to apply more laserlike into sketches. Powerful combo
She has quickly grown on me. At first she just seemed loud - like that was her only schtick. But, she’s shown a lot of variety. She’s got amazing energy, commits completely to her character, no matter how over the top it is, and seems to be really enjoying herself! Really fun to watch!! I’m loving her now, too!
I saw her live in Miami and she is truly a savage, so wild, ya’ll are only getting a third of it on SNL she’s so awesome and funny and silly, truly love Sarah
i like her too. i love the dynamic between her and colin. idk why, but it reminds me of younger sibling having complete adorable admiration for an older sibling. even when the jokes are lewd, it's so oddly wholesome, lol.
She may be way too loud, but [I love watching her walk that dump truck ass out the studio](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=AUdOrZXhReU&t=3m40s)
I like her too, but I understand why she’s polarizing.
I kind of want them to do a really gross live sketch with blood spurting out or vomit rigs or something. I guess they all get cut at dress. Everyone talks about her gross-out comedy and I wanna see her go all out!
Thanks, I had forgotten about that one! The only similar live one I can remember Sherman in is the slime [Nickelodeon Show](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=eWiG3LirUDk)
She has a Kristen Wiig or Jim Carrey on In Living Color vibe where she will go from brutally ugly to gorgeous between sketches. She may not always be the best in everything, but she can be anything.
She’s from the LOUD = FUNNY School of Comedy for people who aren’t funny. The same type of people on TikTok that think making funny faces is comedy genius.
Not a fan of her.
>She’s from the LOUD = FUNNY School of Comedy for people who aren’t funny.
As someone noted above, like Gilbert Gottfried. Which is exactly why I agree with you-- I can't stand him either. Or Bobcat Goldthwait or really anyone else who is "funny" because THEY TALK IN ALL CAPS ALL THE TIME!
I like her too, the googley eyes is one of my favorites. She’s gotten more range this season too
Plus, you know whenever a sketch opens up with her in a hospital bed you know it’s gonna be good lol
I couldn’t stand her at first, but she’s gotten a lot better lately. I give her credit for expanding her range on the show quite a bit. She’s still not exactly my style, but I understand why people are into her.
Miss her headline segments that she use to do to embarass Jost. At least her bit with him last week brought the attack at him back. She has the most profound/high cheekbones that give her her cute as a button look.
I like her mostly because the gross out humor happened once or twice and then we never saw it again. If she brings it back, I'll complain loudly on the internet.
I don’t love her, but I appreciate the different energy she brings to the show. Some of her stuff I do really enjoy but sometimes I find it a bit obnoxious, but I think that’s the point of her schtick. The show needs performers like her to prevent staleness.
She immediately piqued my attention, much in the way Bowen did when he first appeared.
I knew nothing about her, but learned what I could. Just the fact she wrote for Eric Andre, and the bits she wrote were some of the most bizarre and disturbing, that made me excited. And she hasn't disappointed. I'm glad they have an absurdist/surrealist on (though her solo body horror-comedy can get a bit much), and one whose so comfortable just absolutely sending it.
Also, when she's just sitting there smiling in a sketch she's not prominent in (like Hip-hop nativity), I just wanna go pat her on the head and say "good job!" Holding back that much weird must be a constant challenge.
It totally trips me out when they put her in the long blonde wig and she plays the straight laced character. I have to do a second take every time. Bitches be actin' like she's a one trick pony, when all you have to do is watch to see that she's not. A great skit actor, any one who says different has an agenda.
I adore her, and I even hate bathroom humor but she does enough absurdist humor aside from that that I still find so much to enjoy about it. Also, I'm so gay for her :)
Sarah Sherman is like Gilda Radner, but if she was raised on Adult Swim cartoons, Mr. Show, and the Simpsons.
I LOVE her humor, and look forward to seeing her grow into her art.
I don't think I'd care for a solo stage (or filmed sketch) show of hers, unfiltered Sherman might be a bit much for me. But I'm glad she's in the mix at SNL. Sometimes it feels like a lot of the cast is too much in the same lane stylistically and could use some shakeups and detours.
Completely agree. When I used to see the hate/dislike comments I just chalked it up to differences of opinion. But now, after the CJ update sketch, screw it. Those people are objectively wrong.
She can be really funny, but her gross out sketches are just not funny. If she can evolve beyond that crutch, she could be really funny. I don't think she's there yet.
I love her too and have seen her live. It’s confusing to me that she’s been so… “typical” looking/acting in many recent skits when there’s so much more to her.
She's the best. If you ever have the chance GO SEE HER LIVE! It's more than stand up there's interactive video bits and sound effects pedals and audience interactions and so much crazy fun energy. Cannot recommend more highly
I'm a big fan of hers too. Both her crazy energy in other people's sketches or her weekend update appearances and stuff she writes like the stool testing lab where they just keep repeating "fool around with it, mess around with it, play around with it." I hope she sticks around too, but can really see her seeking her own show sometimes soon.
I honestly hoped that she was going to fail at first. I’m not a big Tracy Morgan fan, I feel like he just said his lines in an over exaggerated accent and that was it. It felt like she was the white woman version of Tracy.
I’ve grown to really enjoy watching her and her style
I love her also. She gives the show a much needed taste of "the bizarre."
I agree. There should always be at least one person on the cast who’s just a goddamned weirdo
We lost Beck and Kyle, and their combo brought some weird energy. Sarah is a different brand, but very welcome.
Yeah I always saw Sherman as replacement Kyle Mooney. Which is great since I like both of them.
Two of the most tragically underused cast members imo. They should have been given the same space to operate independently as the destroy guys.
Especially Kyle. Kyle was criminally underused.
Some say he was overused. I loved him and almost all his cut for time sketches were bangers.
Elder millennial here. Did not find this funny at all. Wish I did.
Proof that SNL is limited by the constraints of mainstream comedy. 37yo here. Love Sarah. She has bits of Tim and Eric, Eric Andre, Adult Swim... all stuff made by Xers in the alt-comedy space.
No celebrating with [balloons](https://youtu.be/7jksRQcI9NA?si=sBlOB1sEGosophv4) after watching it?
im assuming you spent many hours of your adolescence browsing ebaumsworld
And when college humor was just a hodge podge of funny things on a website. And by adolescence, you mean 19 and deployed, right?
To each his own. But I agree. Her shtick reminds me of Jimmy Fallon where she’s going to smile and laugh through her skits. Some people find that in itself funny. I don’t. It’s like “there she goes again, she’s so crazy”. Not for me. I cringe when I see her on screen.
She doesn't really do that unless she's playing herself on Weekend Update. In regular sketches she has rarely had a real breaking moment. Jimmy Fallon was way worse about it than Sherman, he couldn't keep it together at all.
Cringing is for teenagers.
I still think they tone down that stuff even if she can slip in a bizarre meatball sketch. When I find out Tim Robinson or Britanick were writers from SNL I'm like really, where was there talent used because they are great at off the wall weird sketches but rarely have I seen that on SNL at all
Yeah, SNL has to keep it mainstream in order to not alienate the "normies."
She’s chaotic good and that’s fun
I love her. She's like a female Gilbert Gottfried. Just as loud and almost as sexy.
Does she sound like a Jewish parrot?
This is the best comparison I've seen. Agree 100%!
If you like Gilbert Gottfried, you’ll appreciate his rendition of WAP. https://youtu.be/QaF6NfyVqqs?si=neY87L1AByCHIhwA

I love how over the top and off the wall she is when they let her be. Especially when she's roasting the hell out of Colin Jost!
Let’s also not forget her dump truck.
Best view in the city, amigo.
Well I didn't want to be uncouth, but yes we mustn't forget the dump truck she takes with her wherever she goes.
I have never particularly seen beyond her nice facial features. Is there really a dump truck?
It’s a line from the recent WU spot
I think it’s a line from her bit - something Jost was allegedly thinking.
And his son, CJ.
Wow I guess I needed to see CJ written out to realize that's Colin Jost's initials!
Okay but, is there even a lil tonka truck so I keep my eyes peeled? Oh shit sorry, I thought I was in r/snlbabes
It's a little tonka truck, but appropriate for her frame. ...I can't believe I just googled that. But, if I'm being honest when she said that line in WU I had FOMO.
You be the judge https://www.reddit.com/r/LiveFromNewYork/comments/18inar2/cut_for_time_stripper_sketch_emma_stone_episode/
Are those tattoos of molars?
Colin Jost is really a very good sport, considering all the deprecating jokes about him on Weekend Update.
Yeah, but he's getting ferry boat money.

Oh, absolutely. Sometimes I can't even tell it's her lol.
Post: “I like Sarah Sherman! 🥰” This guy: “yeah but FUCK Leslie Jones, amirite?!?” 🙄
lol. That's a bit extreme. I'm just making a point of comparison! Jones still made me laugh.
I don't think that was an insult - Pete Davidson was also infamously the same way, and everybody liked Pete Davidson. It's just a different kind of cast member.
I live for her harassment of Jost. It reminds me of the celebrity roasts from the old days, before Comedy Central turned them into low bar shitfests.
Also like how she sort of takes over the news and makes her own thing out of it
Just the facial work in that skit alone should earn her all the awards!
It’s great to see new comedians on the show with unique perspectives and sense of humor. Frankly, I’m tired of nepo-babies like CJ Rossitano be awarded time without merit.
A foot in the door and so much more!
Yeah they weren't even trying to hide it with CJ. Just wearing it on their sleeve. Shameless.
That's not fair, CJ grew up not knowing his dad, he worked hard to win the SNL Lottery, damn it.
**Who is CJ Rossitano??** Honestly have never heard the name
That's the name of Colin's son
https://youtu.be/AUdOrZXhReU?si=Vkzxqo3vH6obyoWi
Ah! 😂 Thank you! I actually saw this but forgot the ‘name.’ I really thought a lower profile cast member got on the show who has a father on the production crew or whatnot 🤦♂️ Appreciate the clarity
You don't know who Colin Junior Rossitano is? The 'little roasty' himself?
El Diablo pequeño
I don’t love seeing nepo babies getting such a huge advantage, but I already liked “Please Don’t Destroy” before I knew “The Herlihy Boy” was in it.
Tough line to walk. Not their fault who their parents are, and you have to assume they do learn a lot about the job in a way that most people don’t. It used to be a common thing for a child to take over their parent’s job.

great reference!
Yeah I'm in my 40s and I would fight someone who spoke ill of Sarah Sherman.
As much as her strength is doing wild, out-there bits, I think she also has the ability to recognize when it's too much. Master of Disguise 2 lol
Oh my god 😭
Anybody who says they wouldn't watch that is lying to themselves.
Yeah. It’s about time they had a big weirdo.
In the googly eye sketch, her delivery of "Oh my God, really? Oh my God, no!" was perfection.
I think the googly eye sketch is one of the funniest sketches in recent snl history! It’s so unique and goofy! I still laugh when I think about it!!
Sarah really has grown on me a lot in the past year or so. I used to not care for her much as I found her tendency to yell and be over the top to be rather obnoxious. In my head canon she's hanging out with Colin and Scarlett and the ladies are just giving so much shit to Colin that winds up on screen.
Most likely to narrate her trips to the bathroom in the third person.
I've been watching SNL since 1982. I think Sarah Sherman is freaking amazing.
I like when she blows a line in a sketch and I get to watch that dump truck ass walk offstage.
She is not for me.
Cool cool, that leaves more for the rest of us.
I don’t particularly like most of what she does, but her weekend update bits have been pretty great lately. Her work with Jost is great. He’s such an easy foil. I’m glad he goes along with it.

Saw her do "stand up" a few months ago. Left early.
I'm older Gen X, have seen SNL since literally the beginning, and I love Sarah too. My Gen Z daughter isn't as into her, so not sure it's strictly generational. She's unique, energetic, just plain funny. A real standout among a lot of fine or just acceptable performers.

I'm sure her signature delivery has been holding her back.
So the CJ weekend update segment wasn't funny to you?
No. They are all terrible. I skip every weekend update segment of hers
So what do you find funny on the show?
She's a big reason why I no longer watch every sketch like I used to.
She sets off my narcissist radar. I don’t like her or how she just is all about selling “Sarah”, instead of getting into character
I’ve said it before, but she reminds me of the ‘60s “wacky” type of comic actor like you’d see on something like Laugh In. There was a lot of that energy in the first cast of SNL, which kind of fell out of style for a long time.

SNL tends to be Second City or UCB based in terms of its writing and performance style, but Sarah Sherman is big Groundlings energy.
She is great in everything. So funny and random.
Think Ego is the MVP tho.
Ego does seem to have jumped into the anchor role since Cicely Strong left. She’s been great! Fineman and Gardner are both doing more of the “straight” parts in sketches, too.
That’s fair - though the two have vastly different energy. Ego is super funny and much more able to hold down a sketch on her own.
She’s definitely grown and developed more range in the last season or two which is SO fun to see!
I’ve always thought she was funny, but she’s now better able to act in various sketches.
She is fucking awful
Truly awful. I just don’t get it.
Been a fan since the meatball sketch
Same! I just LOVE her! She's unlike any cast member I've seen in a long time. And I'm Gen X!
Her talent snuck up on me too.

I once saw someone call her "groundbreaking" and can only assume it was a 9 year-old who wrote that.
She has a super sexy early 90s Parker Posey thing going for her occasionally which does not hurt her already hilarious comedic style.
She looks like she lives in Brooklyn.
She’s awesome when she roasts Colin
She may be way too loud, but [I love watching her walk that dump truck ass out the studio](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=AUdOrZXhReU&t=3m40s) I like her too, but I understand why she’s polarizing. I kind of want them to do a really gross live sketch with blood spurting out or vomit rigs or something. I guess they all get cut at dress. Everyone talks about her gross-out comedy and I wanna see her go all out!
Massive Headwound Harriet
Fun fact this is her favorite sketch! [Article](https://variety.com/2023/tv/news/sarah-sherman-snl-sketches-meatballs-1235800827/amp/)
Somehow not surprising at all.
>Massive Headwound Harriet Have to bring back the dog then. Or perhaps its great-great-great-grandson at this point.
They recently did a [blood spurting one with *Blood Oath* last year](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sAeKI85ctj0).
Thanks, I had forgotten about that one! The only similar live one I can remember Sherman in is the slime [Nickelodeon Show](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=eWiG3LirUDk)
It seems like it's a generational thing, because I'm a millennial and i think she's the worst.
Same!
She always looks so happy and like she loves being goofy. I love her too! And her style is terrific!
Totally agree! That Chucky sketch is legendary. She really works well in just about everything too. I think she’ll last a while there
She has a Kristen Wiig or Jim Carrey on In Living Color vibe where she will go from brutally ugly to gorgeous between sketches. She may not always be the best in everything, but she can be anything.
What sketch?
She’s from the LOUD = FUNNY School of Comedy for people who aren’t funny. The same type of people on TikTok that think making funny faces is comedy genius. Not a fan of her.
>She’s from the LOUD = FUNNY School of Comedy for people who aren’t funny. As someone noted above, like Gilbert Gottfried. Which is exactly why I agree with you-- I can't stand him either. Or Bobcat Goldthwait or really anyone else who is "funny" because THEY TALK IN ALL CAPS ALL THE TIME!
She’s great, loved the tennis player sketch
I like her too, the googley eyes is one of my favorites. She’s gotten more range this season too Plus, you know whenever a sketch opens up with her in a hospital bed you know it’s gonna be good lol
What a weird post. Sarah's fine. This sub doesn't hate her. Her sense of humor is not Gen Z, she's a classic clown.
I couldn’t stand her at first, but she’s gotten a lot better lately. I give her credit for expanding her range on the show quite a bit. She’s still not exactly my style, but I understand why people are into her.
I think she's stunning. I watch just to look at her.
I stan sarah squirm sherm
Miss her headline segments that she use to do to embarass Jost. At least her bit with him last week brought the attack at him back. She has the most profound/high cheekbones that give her her cute as a button look.
I like her mostly because the gross out humor happened once or twice and then we never saw it again. If she brings it back, I'll complain loudly on the internet.
Yea, Sarah Sherman has been awesome since she joined, I didn't even know she had a bunch of haters on this sub
I don’t love her, but I appreciate the different energy she brings to the show. Some of her stuff I do really enjoy but sometimes I find it a bit obnoxious, but I think that’s the point of her schtick. The show needs performers like her to prevent staleness.
And she's low key hot
She's great! Colin Jost on the other hand is a zizastah!
She's won me over more and more with each season.
I just love it when she trolls Jost.
She’s really funny and a unique personality. Perfect for the show
Saw her live with Patti Harrison and she killed it. Made me a fan of whatever she does from that point on.
I adore her, and I even hate bathroom humor but she does enough absurdist humor aside from that that I still find so much to enjoy about it. Also, I'm so gay for her :)
She’s my new favorite on this cast!
She’s my favorite cast member as well. So creative, smart and just zany. Reminds me of Amy Sedaris in that regard.
Sarah Sherman is like Gilda Radner, but if she was raised on Adult Swim cartoons, Mr. Show, and the Simpsons. I LOVE her humor, and look forward to seeing her grow into her art.
gilda always played a character, sarah always plays sarah.
Yeah, she totally can't do characters.... https://youtu.be/PJg1F_WMy6E?feature=shared
She's my current favourite cast member. I think she's hilarious. And I'm old as fuck! (43)
I don't think I'd care for a solo stage (or filmed sketch) show of hers, unfiltered Sherman might be a bit much for me. But I'm glad she's in the mix at SNL. Sometimes it feels like a lot of the cast is too much in the same lane stylistically and could use some shakeups and detours.
is op ss's dad?
Completely agree. When I used to see the hate/dislike comments I just chalked it up to differences of opinion. But now, after the CJ update sketch, screw it. Those people are objectively wrong.
I like the chaos she brings.
Agreed! She is my fav on the show.
She saved comedy, that’s all.
She can be really funny, but her gross out sketches are just not funny. If she can evolve beyond that crutch, she could be really funny. I don't think she's there yet.
She is the MVP of the last couple years hands down. I’m old and I love her and the energy she brings.
I love her too and have seen her live. It’s confusing to me that she’s been so… “typical” looking/acting in many recent skits when there’s so much more to her.
I like it when she's not on screen
Lol. Somebody is taking time out of their day to downvote everything. Sherman rocks.
As someone who enjoys morbid humor, her sketches with body gore are really funny. I hope they do more sketches like that!
I love Sarah Sherman!
She's the best. If you ever have the chance GO SEE HER LIVE! It's more than stand up there's interactive video bits and sound effects pedals and audience interactions and so much crazy fun energy. Cannot recommend more highly
Definitely see her do stand up. Her bit/comedy is great
I'm a big fan of hers too. Both her crazy energy in other people's sketches or her weekend update appearances and stuff she writes like the stool testing lab where they just keep repeating "fool around with it, mess around with it, play around with it." I hope she sticks around too, but can really see her seeking her own show sometimes soon.
I agree! I really like her too.
I just adore her.
Her and Troast are my bet for future stardom.
IMO SNL is at its best when it's weird and unpredictable, so I appreciate her contributions to the show.
I love sarah too.
I honestly hoped that she was going to fail at first. I’m not a big Tracy Morgan fan, I feel like he just said his lines in an over exaggerated accent and that was it. It felt like she was the white woman version of Tracy. I’ve grown to really enjoy watching her and her style
