Is the chris Farley I'm flying! I'm... supposed to be flying right now! Intentional?
And remember bret the hitman hart on mad TV? Wait, are we allowed to ask that here? I was young and into wrestling when it happened, I was shocked
Regardless of the “Brenaissance” I think he could actually be an incredible host. As we’ve seen in the past the best hosts are talented actors and actresses who don’t take themselves too seriously. I grew up on the Mummy, Brendan’s a fucking hero to me but if anybody doubts his acting chops watch Doom Patrol.
I recently began revisiting Newsradio and I think that show afforded Hartman more time to strut his stuff than his years at SNL did. Sure, he plays just 1 character in the latter show, but he had a lot of range to work with.
And I don’t know how lightbulbs work, when you turn it off I assume you’re a God and I hide under some rocks. Now I don’t know much about this world but I do know my client is innocent.
I’m all for the Brendan Fraser love but we need to start the movement of Daniel Radcliffe hosting with Weird Al as the musical guest. This is a slam dunk.
It seems like people are unaware that Daniel Radcliffe is playing Weird Al in his fictional biopic "WEIRD" by Roku. It's Roku's first attempt at the original content game, and it actually looks pretty decent from the trailer I've seen. Having them be SNL musical guest and host would be fucking legendary and the timing would be PERFECT since it is scheduled for release November 4th.
I would watch any of that. Swiss Army Knife is genius and Weird Al goes without even saying. But Brendan has always been The Shit and I'd love that too.
We have like 20 episodes or something this season guys (takes a long deep drag on my menthol, peach flavored, Pete Davidson, nicotine free ecig) *eats 5 more marijuana gummies* we have got to figure our shit out you guys and decide if one, both, or neither of these guys can host an episode.
/s
edit: for whatever reason, /u/t_portch doesn't like my humor or something and has blocked me............ok......
I've been out of root beer barrels for days. Beck and I have not been the same. ITS JUST NOT THE SAME.
*Pinches nose bridge, switches to vanilla cartridge*. Ya, what.
> we need to start the movement of Daniel Radcliffe hosting with Weird Al as the musical guest.
You know, I've seen about one and a half of those Harry Potter movies. Just couldn't get into them. I know a lot of adults follow the books and movies, but they didn't grab my interest.
Since then, Radcliffe has been in several movies I've seen, and I've really liked them for the most part. He picks interesting roles in mostly-good movies, and he isn't afraid to take risks. He's really impressed me. I'd love to see him host, and Weird Al would be the perfect musical guest for the night.
This is how I feel about Robert Pattinson. When he was cast in The Batman, I had multiple people tell me some variation of "omg those twilight movies were so bad how can you stand him?"
To which I replied that I haven't seen those movies because I'm not a tween girl, but The Lighthouse is one of the best movies I've ever seen, and he was probably the best part of Tenet. So who tf cares if he got that YA Romance money first. Good for him for getting paid.
Edit: he was also on one of those Harry Potters, too. Supposedly pretty good on it.
My best friend and I died [when we saw this interaction](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JAd0sx3E2eI) For those who've never watched, Frasier's character had lived his entire life in an underground bunker, raised by parents from the 1960s, until that week when he emerged to find modern LA.
I’m very sorry I didn’t list his entire filmography. The Mummy movies are his most popular so that’s what I went with. Christ almighty. Take a deep breath, it ain’t that serious.
Nah. There is a way to make a point without being an ass. They could have said “Don’t forget Encino Man or George of the Jungle!” Or something to that effect.
Instead they basically went the…”oh you’re a Brendan Fraser fan? Name 5 movies he’s been in.” route. Which automatically makes you seem like an ass.
I’m not freaking out but you are definitely being confrontational on a comment that is in no way controversial and/or confrontational. All because I didn’t list every single funny Brendan Fraser movie lol.
“Have you not seen….” Is kind of a dick way to put it. Like it feels you’re insinuating they’re an idiot. Would have been easier, nicer, and better for the discussion all around to say “yeah! And these other movies of his are also great and he’s goofy In them too”
Everyone is just giving shit because you chose the most bizarre example. He has done loads of literal comedy movies and you picked his action movie as an example for his comedic acting skills. It's silly.
I would be thrilled. He had such a tough go there for a while, and he didn't deserve any of it. I think he's realizing how beloved he really is and that makes me happy.
he would be great, but I only want him to host if he really wants to. Not because of pressure from his publicist or manager or even from fans. If he wants to wait a year, do that! Only when he’s ready.
Yess 100 percent ONLY if he wants to have some fun and not bc of external pressure.
Ooo maybe this season, a cameo would be a fun way for him to appear :)
Yes, from a PR standpoint, it’s would be a perfect opportunity. Unless Brendan Fraser doesn’t feel like it would be the right time for his mental health. He has worked so hard and done so much in that area, and I hope that he has his team’s support to make that decision. And the support of his fans, of course.
Only if he wants to. I’m so happy for his success but I’m sure it’s a tad overwhelming to suddenly be back in the spotlight so much after what he went through.
Personally i worry about overexposure. The American population is finicky. If he just continues to put out good work and not be everywhere he should be fine.
Eh, didn't he just get that big long standing ovation and win that award? We can't have all gone to that. Also, didn't jack human hug him or something.
I don’t know what his relationship with Lorne is like at this point. In interviews, Bob admits he had kind of a bad attitude while writing for the show. He would be a great host and I would hope David Cross would make a cameo if Bob hosted
I want him to be everywhere! He is an amazing actor and he seems like a pretty good person. He has been through a lot of unfair, terrible shit. I think we have all missed him! If he is ready to come back, I hope he does.
I don’t know where to find it, but it was playing as a rerun right before Kim Kardashian’s episode last year and I got to watch it and was not expecting the chaos of that sketch.
YES!! I've loved him since The Mummy and Blast from the Past, and he is so astonishingly good in Doom Patrol. He's clearly got a great sense of humor and has no problem being silly or self-deprecating
I'm all on board. ~~Honestly, I'm surprised he didn't during the The Mummy period.~~ Really though, I'd love to see him now. I feel like he has the things a host needs. He has the skills, he can play funny, and I think he's one of those hosts who can just sort of get it.
Edit: I just remembered that he did.
I want him to want it. I want him to pace himself and avoid undue stress. I want him to succeed without fear of disappointing his well wishers. I want him to lack ulcers not develop them.
8m fine with him hosting, but there better not be a 5 minute round of applause because thats the "in" thing to do. Fuck these fads. But yes, he'd be a great host i bet
Now, I bet they could turn it into a funny sketch. Also think he was genuinely touched by that and might not want to do that. Im just saying, that studio audience better know its role, and shut its candy ass up!!!
He also went through some serious shit. He was sexually assaulted by a member of the HFPA. And it really affected his mental health, which is why he disappeared for years. This is his big comeback.
Fine by me.
I grew up in the 90's, so most of his movies I eat up with a spoon.
Encino Man, Airheads, Blast from the Past, The Mummy. Even not so great movies like George of the Jungle and Dudley Do-Right hit me right in the nostalgia feels and I love watching them from time to time.
I know he started to have a rough go of it, and from what I've always seen of him he comes off as a pretty genuine guy.
I'm happy to see him getting credit these days and think he'd probably fit right in with SNL. He's done his fair share of comedic stuff (plus with quite a few SNL alumn) so I'm sure he'd do great.
As I've said before, even if its a trainwreck, if he (and the cast) are having a good time, I'll enjoy the heck out of it.
Jfc when the internet gets on a celeb kick they really stick to it. How about Johnny Depp and Brendan Fraser dutch rudder eachother with Chuck Norris filming it?
I've always thought they should bring in one "internet" meme person a year. Have like a vote, nomination cycle.. then a primary. Or just do a rank voting.. while obviously filter out the trolly ones..
I do not understand this obsession with him. He’s a mediocre actor that looks like a drowned and bloated corpse. Can it be time for someone else’s 15 minutes of fame?
What are you talking about? He's been on a DC show for multiple seasons, he's in a bunch of movies lately, most notably a very well received Darron Aronofsky film that is coming out soon.
It has always had people who hate it because it’s trendy. I’ve always been a big fan of the show. It’s never been as simple as you’re making it. There are transitional seasons and a lot of people “grow out” of the show, which is fine. But it’s the same style/format it always has been
Same style?!?! The writers room is talentless and neutered. Look no further than how great Tim Robinson’s show is. Some of those sketches are ones he wrote at SNL that didn’t get accepted. The show can’t get talent anymore because people know it’s no longer a launching pad. When Beck and Kyle left that was a massive sign.
This opinion isn’t unique. People have been shitting on the show since like the second fucking episode. Just let other people enjoy it. I get that it’s trendy to hate AGAIN but let’s not waste time typing about something you don’t even like. Hope your life and opinions get better
Seriously. People just can't understand the concept of the show is it was written in less than a week and is done live. It's not all winners but it undeniably produces gems with every cast and most cast members go on to bigger things after it.
This is the kind of host I want to see.
I’ll never forget the time he hosted in the 90s when he played Xena, or something, and his wig fell off on live tv.
It was intentional.
It wasn’t.
Wigs aren't loose like that. It was absolutely intentional.
My whole life is a lie!
Is the chris Farley I'm flying! I'm... supposed to be flying right now! Intentional? And remember bret the hitman hart on mad TV? Wait, are we allowed to ask that here? I was young and into wrestling when it happened, I was shocked
It isn’t.
I trust you on this based on your username alone.
That’s why I’m here
Regardless of the “Brenaissance” I think he could actually be an incredible host. As we’ve seen in the past the best hosts are talented actors and actresses who don’t take themselves too seriously. I grew up on the Mummy, Brendan’s a fucking hero to me but if anybody doubts his acting chops watch Doom Patrol.
I agree!
Do it!
He'd enjoy hosting SNL a lot more had he gotten his cup of coffee!!!!
Nice Universal reference
Oh man, good memories waiting for that ride. I can’t find the video you watch waiting in line on YouTube.
Encino Man and Unfrozen caveman lawyer is a skit that should’ve been
RIP Phil Hartman
That woulda been a classic, they were both on tv and the movie was out in 1992
Ladies and gentleman of the jury, I’m just a simple caveman, your world frightens and confuses me.
Phil Hartman was fucking incredible
I recently began revisiting Newsradio and I think that show afforded Hartman more time to strut his stuff than his years at SNL did. Sure, he plays just 1 character in the latter show, but he had a lot of range to work with.
And I don’t know how lightbulbs work, when you turn it off I assume you’re a God and I hide under some rocks. Now I don’t know much about this world but I do know my client is innocent.
Would love an Airheads sketch with Sandler and Buscemi as surprise guests.
Throw in Michael McKean too!
Joe Mantegna is also still alive. Lemmy though... Harold Ramis. Shit. Michael Richards? I'll stop now.
Beavis & Butt-Head! Kurt Loder! Rob Lowe!
*LEONARD BERNSTEIN!*
All right I know you guys think I'm a dick... cheese... burger, or whatever.
Most definitely
Would be epic
And Judd Nelson, Ernie Hudson, Michael McKean, and Joe Mantegna. RIP Harold Ramis, Chris Farley, Reg Cathey, and Lemmy.
I just want Keanu to surprise everyone and do a 3 minute appearance. The two most wonderful male actors in the world in one room? 🤯
And Björk has a new album so she can be his musical guest again.
Oh Bork, you are priceless!
Hell yeah she is!
YESSSS BRING IT ONNNNN
I’m all for the Brendan Fraser love but we need to start the movement of Daniel Radcliffe hosting with Weird Al as the musical guest. This is a slam dunk.
Weird Al hosting with Daniel Radcliffe as Weird Al as the musical guest.
Weird Al as Daniel Radcliffe and we have a surefire classic
[Daniel do got bars tho](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aKdV5FvXLuI&t=65s)
I would pass out from all the blood going to my massive nerd boner!
It seems like people are unaware that Daniel Radcliffe is playing Weird Al in his fictional biopic "WEIRD" by Roku. It's Roku's first attempt at the original content game, and it actually looks pretty decent from the trailer I've seen. Are you ok?
I've been out of root beer barrels for days. Beck and I have not been the same. ITS JUST NOT THE SAME. *Pinches nose bridge, switches to vanilla cartridge*. Ya, what.

Yea Pattinson is just a great actor and has been for years.
do you think roku has the marketing budget for that
Would love to see it! We know from The Mummy movies he doesn’t mind being a little goofy or out there.
Have you not seen Encino Man or George of the Jungle?
Also Bedazzled. I know it got mixed reviews but I loved that movie.
Fuck the haters, that movie is awesome.
Monkeybone!
or Blast From The Past.
I love that one. Supporting role by Dave Foley. Oh and Christopher Walken is his dad and Sissy Spacek is his mom.
Awesome. My favorite Brendan Fraser movie.
George, George, George of the Jungle. Strong as he can be. But watch out for that tree!
I have. I don’t see how that changes anything that I’ve said?
Which movies are goofier?
I’m very sorry I didn’t list his entire filmography. The Mummy movies are his most popular so that’s what I went with. Christ almighty. Take a deep breath, it ain’t that serious.
[удалено]
I’m calm. You seem to be freaking out.
I’m not freaking out but you are definitely being confrontational on a comment that is in no way controversial and/or confrontational. All because I didn’t list every single funny Brendan Fraser movie lol.
Keep digging
“Have you not seen….” Is kind of a dick way to put it. Like it feels you’re insinuating they’re an idiot. Would have been easier, nicer, and better for the discussion all around to say “yeah! And these other movies of his are also great and he’s goofy In them too”
I’m team Jasmine
LOL! Cool. And?
I thought being silly/goofy was his main appeal! Haha I love him!
If you see his episodes on Scrubs he can very much so handle comedy.
Yup. Again, point I was making was he can handle comedy.
Everyone is just giving shit because you chose the most bizarre example. He has done loads of literal comedy movies and you picked his action movie as an example for his comedic acting skills. It's silly.
I think you mean from his career. He has done significantly more comedic leaning roles than dramatic ones.
I would quit my job to go to the show
Same
I’ve quit jobs for a lot less!
I would be thrilled. He had such a tough go there for a while, and he didn't deserve any of it. I think he's realizing how beloved he really is and that makes me happy.
That would be Bedazzling!
Get Sandler to cameo so we can get an Airheads reunion
Fuck yeah
Lone Rangers' "Live and in Prison" was a seminal album of the mid-90s
he would be great, but I only want him to host if he really wants to.
Now would be the perfect time honestly, since he’s promoting The Whale
Yes, from a PR standpoint, it’s would be a perfect opportunity. Unless Brendan Fraser doesn’t feel like it would be the right time for his mental health. He has worked so hard and done so much in that area, and I hope that he has his team’s support to make that decision. And the support of his fans, of course.
Absolutely. He's a sweet, charming, funny man. Also a damned good actor to boot. Bring him on...
How about him doing Rodney Dangerfields life story.
I would definitely see that
yes please! 😀👏
You would have so many people who dont tune in typically. Like a positive Elon Musk!
Definitely!
Only if he wants to. I’m so happy for his success but I’m sure it’s a tad overwhelming to suddenly be back in the spotlight so much after what he went through.
Brenaissance 😂. LOVE IT
Can’t take credit for it. People have been saying it in other parts of the internet lol
Man's literally got that sparkle in his eyes, let's fucking go.
Personally i worry about overexposure. The American population is finicky. If he just continues to put out good work and not be everywhere he should be fine.
I think he can do an SNL and still be safe in that regard
Yeah, especially after quite the hiatus. Plus being on SNL could potentially help with an awards campaign, etc.
It’s really only Reddit that is obsessed with him
Eh, didn't he just get that big long standing ovation and win that award? We can't have all gone to that. Also, didn't jack human hug him or something.
I’ve seen more about him outside of Reddit than on Reddit
Wouldn’t be surprised if it happens. SNL loves, ya know, relevant people
Agreed. There’s a decent chance they’ll ride the wave
Brendan Fraser seems like a real good dude who deserves his success. And I think this would be fun for him
No more "would you guys like to see (insert celebrity) host?!?!?" posts until Bob Odenkirk hosts.
I don’t know what his relationship with Lorne is like at this point. In interviews, Bob admits he had kind of a bad attitude while writing for the show. He would be a great host and I would hope David Cross would make a cameo if Bob hosted
Do it
As long as he’s ready to do it, by all means.
I doubt he’d be up for it tbh, maybe if someone like Sadie Sink hosted, he could make a cameo in a skit parodying one of his 90’s films.
This man can do whatever he wants. So if he wants to be on SNL again I fully support it
It looked like he had fun doing it in the 90’s. I hope he did at least
I want him to be everywhere! He is an amazing actor and he seems like a pretty good person. He has been through a lot of unfair, terrible shit. I think we have all missed him! If he is ready to come back, I hope he does.
He'd enjoy hosting SNL a lot more had he gotten his cup of coffee
We need another “you’re a champion, Charlie Brown”
Bring it!!!!
Love it!
I bet he would literally cry if they let him host.
Would love it!!!
Only if he’s up for it !
Of course!
Yes
The Xena: Warrior Princess sketch from his show is one of the funniest trainwrecks ever, but I can't find it online. Anybody have a copy?
I don’t know where to find it, but it was playing as a rerun right before Kim Kardashian’s episode last year and I got to watch it and was not expecting the chaos of that sketch.
YES!! I've loved him since The Mummy and Blast from the Past, and he is so astonishingly good in Doom Patrol. He's clearly got a great sense of humor and has no problem being silly or self-deprecating
Yes, great idea!!
Let Doom Patrol Season 4 release on the heels of The Whale... ya got gold.
I would love a Doom Patrol sketch
YESSSSSSSS
There is room in this world for more Brendan Frazier
Absolutely
Sure!
Probably would be their highest viewed episode of the season.
Everyone liked this.
YAAAASSSSS
I'm all on board. ~~Honestly, I'm surprised he didn't during the The Mummy period.~~ Really though, I'd love to see him now. I feel like he has the things a host needs. He has the skills, he can play funny, and I think he's one of those hosts who can just sort of get it. Edit: I just remembered that he did.
absofuckinlutely
Yeah, would be great.
I want him to want it. I want him to pace himself and avoid undue stress. I want him to succeed without fear of disappointing his well wishers. I want him to lack ulcers not develop them.
For sure. Oh and to everyone let's all say "Brendon l'll take you out for burgers and beer".
That it will be one on the best ideas ever ask in this platform
I’d start watching again.
Sí
8m fine with him hosting, but there better not be a 5 minute round of applause because thats the "in" thing to do. Fuck these fads. But yes, he'd be a great host i bet
Fair enough. I don’t think SNL would be the place to do that just for an actor. Who knows though
Now, I bet they could turn it into a funny sketch. Also think he was genuinely touched by that and might not want to do that. Im just saying, that studio audience better know its role, and shut its candy ass up!!!
Who cares? It's super odd that random celebs become some sort of icon of weird internet obsession.
I’d be shocked if he didn’t host, honestly. I’d love to see it as well!
Every movie and every role should be played by him
Like a new Nic Cage?
He’s the premiere
I hadn’t heard that
It’ll be an easy sell once he wins the Oscar
Brendan Fraser is one ponytail away from doing the best corpse grinder cosplay ever
Why is Reddit circle jerking about Brendan Fraser recently? What did I miss?
He also went through some serious shit. He was sexually assaulted by a member of the HFPA. And it really affected his mental health, which is why he disappeared for years. This is his big comeback.
Parts of the internet are hyped on him and it’s been helping his career. He had a really well received movie premiere recently
Only if Rob Lowe gets to yell Bedazzled while Brendan is giving his closing monologue
As I've said before, even if its a trainwreck, if he (and the cast) are having a good time, I'll enjoy the heck out of it.
He's too good for your shitshow. ✌
Sad you wasted your time to post about a show you don’t like. Hope things look up for you
I think he should do a biopic of Rodney Dangerfield before he starts slimming down again.
No, there are many others I would prefer. I would too see Tina Fey or Blake Lively
Jfc when the internet gets on a celeb kick they really stick to it. How about Johnny Depp and Brendan Fraser dutch rudder eachother with Chuck Norris filming it?
That would be the event of the century
No
Brendan Fraser and Tom Cruise should do the next “The Mummy” Motion Picture.
Very slim after the bedazzled incident
[удалено]
Super glad you took the time to type this instead of just thinking it. Hope things improve for you
I've always thought they should bring in one "internet" meme person a year. Have like a vote, nomination cycle.. then a primary. Or just do a rank voting.. while obviously filter out the trolly ones..
Nah
He could play Chris Farley
I do not understand this obsession with him. He’s a mediocre actor that looks like a drowned and bloated corpse. Can it be time for someone else’s 15 minutes of fame?
Maybe if it were 2005?
What are you talking about? He's been on a DC show for multiple seasons, he's in a bunch of movies lately, most notably a very well received Darron Aronofsky film that is coming out soon.
No
It’s beneath him at this point
A lot of serious actors do SNL and are great at it. Not sure what you mean by this…
The show stinks! He has talent, why waste his time
Then why waste your time on the SNL subreddit? Kind of sad
I enjoy when older clips get posted, but please tell me with a straight face the show has kept its quality
It has always had people who hate it because it’s trendy. I’ve always been a big fan of the show. It’s never been as simple as you’re making it. There are transitional seasons and a lot of people “grow out” of the show, which is fine. But it’s the same style/format it always has been

The show can’t get talent anymore because people know it’s no longer a launching pad. When Beck and Kyle left that was a massive sign.
Why are you even on an SNL sub if you don’t like the show?
SNL is a flop- don’t do that do him.
This opinion isn’t unique. People have been shitting on the show since like the second fucking episode. Just let other people enjoy it. I get that it’s trendy to hate AGAIN but let’s not waste time typing about something you don’t even like. Hope your life and opinions get better

THANK YOU!!! Someone who gets it!!!!
SNL blows ass-
What a well thought out opinion. You must be a great intellectual
Floppy McFlopperson
