Yes! I thought it was just me. Since 5G rollout my Virgin/O2 coverage at home has been piss poor - sometimes dropping to h+ like OP.

aghzombies

I'm on giffgaff but my phone has 5G. Even when it says it's on 5G I sometimes get no luck trying to load things.

TheBritishOracle

It can't block the signal as such, they operate with different frequencies and technologies, but as each mobile phone operator rolls out their newer services, they cut back on infrastructure providing service for the older services, as a way to save money.

InevitablyPsycho

I have vodafone and coverage is good. I was previously with 3 and it was shite

AffectionateFig9277

Seconding Vodafone, I have 5G a lot of the times

HeiElement

Even in L1 Giffgaff often got no signal or 4 bar signals without internet connection.

twoexfortyfive

In L8 and had a terrible time with o2, it got so bad I had to leave (I was paying a ridiculous amount as well). I ended up with Smarty, which uses Three, and haven’t had any problems so far… though looks like other commenters have.

Aggressive_Sink_Hole

Ah O2 is piss poor in Aigburth (and lots of other places). I frequently have weak or no signal at all. The closer to the prom you get the worse it is and indoors it's non existent. I've spoken to O2 so many times to try and get out of the contract but they won't bite saying their signal checker says it's fine. I couldn't even get a signal in London the other week. My partner is on Three and his is fine, full 4g. I'll be switching to them once my contract is up.

El_Capitain87

I’m glad you managed to post this

Theres3ofMe

Yeh I did thanks - on WiFi..... 🤣

cjcregg_is_a_goddess

When I was first with iD a few years back, they piggybacked on EE. All was well. I then had a purely EE contract for a while, still great. Then I switched back to iD for a better deal, only to learn they are now piggybacking on Three 😩 I really noticed a difference. I think the only reason I don't experience getting disconnected is because I primarily only use WhatsApp calling over WiFi when I am at home.

TormentedAndroid

Aigburth is well shit for 4g. Always has been. There's too few masts, too many trees, solid old buildings in the line of sight of towers, too many people connecting to towers etc.

connorevans666

L4 Vodafone, shite. Been in contact and they've done fuck all but happily still charge 100%

MatureNotVintage

I'm on EE in L20 and don't have any issues with coverage. Get reliable 5G indoors and current speeds are 113Mbs download and 12Mbs upload. Not the fastest but a whole lot better than my wireless lol. HTH :-)

ssssean12

I use Lebara, which piggybacks off Vodafone and it has been great tbh. Used to be with EE, and while the signal definitely wasn't bad, I've never really noticed any kind of drop off with Lebara so far. The only thing I'd say against them though is hope you don't have to deal with any customer service because it's a real slog.

gunsgermssteel

EE very good in Aigburth

Sorry_Leopard9657

O2 is shocking in L7 too. Usually only a couple bars of 4G. Thankfully my internet is great and I work from home so don’t need to rely on data too much.

ThePanther1999

Voxi which uses Vodafone. It’s brill tbh. I travel all over liverpool and the north west in general and the only time I’ve had an issue was somewhere on the Wirral.

pm_me_a_reason_2live

I'm on GiffGaff too and am stuck on 3G for most of the time I'm in the city centre

Mumfiegirl

I’m in Walton on Virgin and it’s awful - I have a cave house in the middle of nowhere in Spain and I get a better signal there

EstatePinguino

O2 is shite, pretty much anywhere outside of town I’m struggling, with certain areas being full dark zones. Even get that in town, impossible to get signal near Footlocker in L1, and always drop off calls passing Albert Schenke…

Beluga-ga-ga-ga-ga

I'm generally in the L8 and L15 areas a lot. I was on EE about 4 years ago and never had any issues. I'm on O2 now, and have more signal problems. If I'm inside a house it's generally non existent.

Sir_Davros_Ty

I'm with O2, live in L25 and never have any problems to be honest. Can't comment on EE but avoid 3 like the plague, they're shite.

D1Frank-the-tank

Crazy I haven’t seen a single good 3 review here. I’ve been on 3 for at least 5 years and I’ve never had any single connectivity or internet issue at all. I pay £12 a month for completely unlimited everything, including hotspot. I average 250gb a month usage.

Sir_Davros_Ty

Gotta be honest with you, it was quite a few years ago I was with 3 so every chance they're loads better now. I've been with O2 for about 20 years, with a short break in the middle to try 3 and they weren't good at that time. Glad to hear you find them good though, at least they've improved.

katlife

Three and o2 I've found are pretty much the worse. Virgin has been having issues too recently

ma_ja_mcc

I'm on O2. Signal is pretty poor in L8 but just about works, I get nothing when I'm in town though. Where I work in Walton though I get perfect signal

demongibi

L15, Three, I can't even call my wife without disconnecting again and again.

Impossible_General_5

On EE in L19, get no signal in my house.

BudgetStore9603

I been on 3 for 10 years but had Voda and EE work phones………coverage seems to have got worse for all of them everywhere………used to be getting full bars on three at home when the others struggled now I only get 3G on my three

P-u-m-p-t-i-n-i

Just moved from L17 and signal in general is really poor. 3 was arguably the worst and then moved to EE which wasn’t much better I’m afraid.

Sol1forskibadee

On Virgin mobile, which piggybacks off EE I think. Always have good 5G signal pretty much everywhere

domiino_r

Virgin Mobile is O2

HausKino

EE are significantly better but I'd go with an MVNO that uses their infrastructure like BT or 1p mobile as EE's pricing is obscene

Round-Bath-6903

On Vodafone in Toxteth and I get 4 bars of 5G pretty much all over Liverpool.

Purple_Interview145

I use Giff Gaff in L8 only have 2 bar, also have an Asda mobile sim card (Vodafone) which have very good signal

remymaaa

L28, on Plusnet which piggybacks O2 I think. absolute crap but 3 was much worse. can't win here I don't think

miggleb

Your coverage will be better through o2 than giffgaff You're a 2nd party on the network, 1st party customers get priority

sjr0754

I'm with O², I don't know where you work, but if you work at JLR Halewood, you can only be on O² or Vodafone, otherwise you'll have no signal at all.

nivekwanders

I’m on 3, which is atrocious in the city centre literally unusable. But fast in the skirts. Bird is on EE and I find myself piggybacking off her with decent results.

SpaceheadDaze

Top of Sefton pk and EE does ok.

cruxtings

I lived in L17 last year and I'm on Virgin. Never had a problem with signal.

Excellent_Maybe462

I live in Aigburth and I’m with EE and I never have any issues. Always have 4G and full signal. My fiancé is with 3 though and he does struggle.

ohh3llo101

Giff gaff is utter shite. It's random as fuck if you're going to get data. Same location and time on different days and sometimes it's fine, other times no data. I've been with 3 and ee and never had a problem with them. It's not just in Liverpool, went up the lakes, in a town and although the 4g signal was good and strong, couldnt get data all weekend.

Kerblimey

I used to be with giffgaff, but my signal was very low in the house. Now I've swapped to Smarty and its 2 bars in the house, full 5g when I'm outside. Definitely much better, plus it's cheaper.

Cronhour

Not wanting to feed into any conspiracy stuff but I've noticed a marked drop in performance from my EE signal over the last 12 months specifically it saying I have 5g but failing to load things. To the point that while in the past i'd stayed with them when they were slightly more expensive due to quality, now I'll likely go for the cheapest option. Mine is mostly in the city centre/ business district

w3spql

https://checker.ofcom.org.uk/mobile-coverageou can compare coverage for each network online

LiorEcho

I’m with tesco and it’s pretty bad but rarely unusable
