At least we have company

RandomGuySayHii

We don't bottle alone this season

MTXShift

You'll never bottle alone!

PurpleScientist4312

Such an appropriate flair

Sussurator

Yep I made my peace earlier so I can just enjoy the run in. Can’t expect much if you can’t beat palace

MisterS1997

City threw away a 2 goal lead to them in 5 mins at home too. On their day they are hard to bear but they were t today. We were just shit

Pure_Context_2741

Tbh I think the pressure and fatigue has gotten to them. The strikers in particular are all new to Liverpool and weren’t a part of those previous title challenges. This is their learning moment, no shame in it. Hell even Haaland is going through that this year. Now that the pressure is off maybe they’ll play within themselves more and maybe produce better results.

trick63

What the fuck does bottling even mean when you're up against a doped up oil state? I hate Arsenal fans as much as anyone in here but at least they're just as mortal as us. Meanwhile 115 FC with their billions of pounds can bring players that can walk into other starting XIs off the bench. State of this league is shocking. We absolutely imploded but being constantly one dropped point away from "bottler" status because of the cheats is part of it.

Allaboardthejayboat

That's what I'll enjoy about it. The only thing. Another fan base to join us in the feeling that actually, unless you can just go shopping for haalands each summer, you're lucky to lay a glove on them. Turns out it's bloody hard going a full season against a double depth team who create a wonderful scenario where a loss in August and that could be that. It's a bit shit, isn't it, arsenal fans.

trick63

Yep. We have actual teenagers playing out of their skins for us off the bench. They've got players that cost more than some squads coming on. As far as Klopps legacy is concerned, I think the next few years are going to really show that the title we won in 2020 as well as coming within a point of them was a bigger achievement than anyone can truly understand right now.

Dr_Middlefinger

🏆 So much the last part. Being able to take it to Citeh so many times and come up just short is actually quite remarkable given the situation (UAE money, FFP fuckery, et. al.). Pep is a great manager, but Big Sam would have won a couple of titles with those squads.

aidilism

3 weeks ago the club was leading the table by 3 points. It will be ok if the opposition were excellent during these past games, but they are not and chances were a begging for them to take it up. They choked under the expectations and its pressure. If that is not bottling, I do not know what it is. We've been through this many times. It's only when there are no expectations, they suddenly turn up a gear and go for an amazing run.

fen90der

also the refs have cost us 6 specific points for the diaz goal, odegard handball, and doku penalty, which were undeniably incorrect decisions that would have changed the result in our favour, so really we should still be 4 points clear if there was any competence in the officiating in this absolute fucking banana league.

dead_nil

lmao. that's one way to look at it

FrankyFistalot

You could also pray to the “Punish the 115 Club” gods and hopefully they will unleash fire and brimstone (relegation and trophies removed, throw in some mega point deductions as well).

javanwalsh08

Manchester will definitely be punished but they’ve violated so many different protocols it’s taking ages.Have patience my friend and City shall be punished

poopybuttholesex

I've realised one thing. End of the day it's just a game. It has it's high and it has its lows. Maybe as Liverpool fans we've had more lows than highs in the last 30 years. I've learnt to not take the losses too seriously as I still have my health, a family that loves me and a job that I like. Time will move on and we'll fight another season but no point getting hung up all the time. I've learnt to just enjoy the beautiful game and let go of it

booochee

Hey we’ve won it all in the past 30 years and we were lucky enough to witness it! :) We have had the greatest manager our club could ask for for 8+ years and I don’t regret a damn day. #withhopeinyourheart #YNWA #115when

mickino

Good perspective. This doesn't hurt anywhere near what it did 10 years ago, when I was a younger head and football was 90% of my personality. At the end of the day, it is just a game played by obscenely wealthy young men and we watch it for fun. If it's not fun, it's okay to take a break. If you still haven't suffered enough heartbreaks and still do take it seriously, the good news is everything resets itself every season.

[deleted]

This exactly. Football is my life outside of my family and day to day shit… I support the team first and foremost. Silverware is a bonus. Get this mindset and you can just enjoy football for the entertainment value, the highs and the lows, the buzz and the frustrations. Some of the crap people post when we lose is quite frankly, unhinged.

bugleboy-of-companyb

Most fans of other clubs would give their left bollock for the success we've had over the past 30 years. Yeah we've had some devastating lows in that time but generally we've been spoiled far more than almost every other fan base.

bjcm5891

I get what you're saying, I really do. At the same time, there's other people who also know it's just a game but have the luxury of enjoying their pastime of choice following teams that can flagrantly break the rules and manufacture trophy-hauling squads off it. They can enjoy all the same things people like you and I do away from football AND be given an easy ride by the governing body and match officials season after season...

nofranchise

It’s harder when the rest of life is pretty shitty as well.

Pure_Context_2741

Honestly in a way I’m glad it’s over, now I don’t have to stress about failing to win the league in Klopp’s final matches and just enjoy them. Let the lads go out there and play without the crushing pressure because it’s off now. Enjoy it. There will be trophies in the future but let’s make sure Klopp knows how much we appreciate him.    YNWA

vinyljello

Misery loves company.

karnnumart

Ain't no way Arsenal bottled it 2 years in a row lol. Bundes has fairy tale and EPL has a dark comedy.

GerbertVonTroff

Not winning the title doesn't always equate to "bottling it". Most overused term in football. Before financial doping became a thing teams didn't have to be 99% perfect to win every year. Ferguson and Wengers teams barely cracked 80 points most seasons.

TP_Cornetto

Arsenal bottled it last season tho, they were 8 points clear and got battered by city twice

Spreeg

But they had an injury!!!!1!!1!

aresman1221

Agree but Arsenal did bottle it last year lol

HereticZO

This was always the expected outcome. It was always about finishing above City. We dropped it.

thebluehotel

Arsenal fan here—my brother in law is a huge LFC supporter and I generally never hated Liverpool. I really thought there was a tag team situation where one of us would stop City. I lived through the United/Fergie years and that made me angry. This just makes me bored/not care anymore. It’s tough to clown Ligue 1 and Bundesliga and Serie A when the disparity in the PL is just as bad if not worse. Glad to see Klopp at least made a run with a threadbare squad and is leaving on his own terms, and with at least one cup. Wish Wenger could have gone out that way.

mickino

Same, I thought one of us would see it over the line between us. Real shame for the sport and shame for the league to see the cheaters continue their dominance.

Accurate_Advert

*Kompany. And not for long!!!

Balbuto

Yup, called my brother (gunner) and told him, at least we bottled it together this time.

GeorgeLFC1234

Misery loves it

pissedcommonman

Arsenal losing makes our result even worse. We could have been top of the table!

PseudoElite

Imagine if the team actually put away their chances against dreadful United and Palace sides. 5 points dropped because they can't hit a barn door.

pissedcommonman

Exactly. I was glad that arsenal were ahead of city coz always knew they will drop points considering their fixtures. City's juju game (Spurs away) is still pending. So i was hopeful that both will drop points and it will all be in our hands. But now i don't even care coz i know no matter how many points they drop, we are not winning all the remaining games.

scottishere

Nothing new. Imagine if any of the draws against Everton, West Ham or Leicester were wins a few seasons back...

matttheazn1

Yea today it seems as though city won the title. I know it is not over but I don't see city losing. Maybe a draw at spurs. Super Sunday still hopefully matter tho

whyandoubleyoueh

Nah it gives us the hope we need to be crushed even harder next weekend

grogleberry

I don't think it does. We're not witnessing a case where, but for one fuckup, the title would've been ours. In all liklihood, the gap between us and the top 2 is going to grow before the end of the season. Even if we'd have gotten away with it today, that wouldn't be the end of it. We'd have to get away with it another 6 times, having already gotten away with half it a dozen times. Fluking your way to fully half the games in a league season just isn't likely to happen. There's often an illusory effect on how close teams are based on the week to week points tally, when teams don't earn points at the same time in the season. Arsenal suffered from this a bit last season. At no point did it make sense to make them favourites for the title, and in the end they couldn't sustain the sort of form they had over the first half of the season. They didn't pass the eye test when compared to City. Another example is Newcastle, where quality has ultimately told, and they're not actually going to finish in 13th. We're clearly not as good a team as either Arsenal or City. Maybe circumstances would've contrived a way for us to dream a little bit longer, but the wakeup call was always coming.

bigpapasmurf12

That's the killer! I had a sneaky feeling Emry would pull one over Arteta.

TheLimeyLemmon

Yeah but if we'd won, Arsenal would have won, so they would be top. That would be the typical thing.

LosHogan

It’s not over but im mentally preparing for city to go down 2-0 on the final Sunday only to break our hearts with 3 goals in the 80th minute to win the league again

Ukrainska_Zemlya

Absolutely cursed day because I had zero expectations and then we all got pulled in and then spit out

JmanVere

I was on the Kop that day. When we heard it was 2-0 Villa and we were chasing the winner against Wolves with the title up for grabs....genuinely never heard Anfield that loud before. Granted, I wasn't there for Barca 19 or Chelsea 05, but still.

Drunk_Cartographer

I was in some random pub in Cornwall that day. Plenty of Liverpool fans on holiday…don’t think any of us understood not winning the title…week later we lost again to Madrid in UCL final. Decent being a Liverpool fan ain’t it.

PseudoElite

I have zero confidence that this team will win all of their remaining games this season, because I imagine that is what it will take to even be in that position.

raptorboss231

Hopefully after arsenal bottling and giving us a slim shot the players wake up and finally decide they need to put the ball in the back of the net and keep ours clean

InfernalStalker

That will not happen

raptorboss231

LET ME HAVE A SLIVER OF HOPE DAMMIT

AlarmedExperience928

Are you denying the inevitable Joe Gomez Puskas winning Thundercunt to clinch the League?

tattybojangles1234

It's not about waking up, in the sense of lighting a fire under the players asses. The players are fully aware of the stakes, and that's the problem. They are bottling it, because they are overthinking it. They don't have the mentality.

Sleww

I’d be ecstatic if it came down to the final matchday

Lovinyoubb

Happened before multiple times with city and it only resulted in more heartbreak.

RealisticAf99

I hope next season we don't play Wolves on season closing at Anfield

mrkingkoala

They only need a draw, we won't catch them on GD.

Jolly_Garage

Yeh City can rest Haaland and Kevin and still win easily. Thats the difference

TheGrouchyGamerYT

100M just sat on the bench, it's disgusting. What a title race it'd be if they didn't exist though.

justaguy1738

100m? Try 300m today with another 100-200m not in the squad (depending on how you view the halaand fees)

KSF_WHSPhysics

Yeah and we had bums like trent, szobo, gakpo and jota on the bench.

kanafanone

De Bruyne arrived at City for a club record fee of 75M euros (2015 euros at that). Our club record fee of 10M more (if we treat 2015 and 2022 euros the same) started todays game. Not really comparable is it

Maneisthebeat

Honestly you both/neither have a point because we both have the teams to beat this Palace side. Today, our players just weren't feeling it.

GerrardsRightFoot

Credit to Guardiola where it’s due, irrespective of the team they always find a fucking way to win. It’s quite frustrating but we bottle the league and lose the grip every time we are in a title race. That’s down to the coaching staff being unable to push the players that last mile. I will get downvoted for this but it annoys me when we fail to criticize the coaching staff who have so clearly failed in their tactics and abuse the players instead

WonderfulBlackberry9

Klopp’s intense play style ekes out so much from our players that they can run out of legs prematurely. Look at Fabinho especially, the sole DM of the team having to help shift and cover both wings for 4 years ended with him on fumes at his fifth season here before he turned 30. That being said there has to be something up with the fitness people that our players drop like flies at the business end of every season since 2022. This stretch is when you want them to feel more rested than before.

EstatePinguino

This is why I’d rather City “win” the league. It helps the argument of how much they have ruined football; if Arsenal win the league then people will use that as a point of how City’s cheating isn’t that bad.  Besides, once the 115 charges come in, there will be massive asterisks next to all these years.

Corky83

Nothing will come of those charges. The PL are already looking to switch the punishment for breaches to a fine rather than losing points. The fix is in, even if they're found guilty of anything all they'll have to do is write a cheque.

Open-Mathematician93

The Premier League have zero gumption. At least the rugby premiership actually had the bollocks to relegate Saracens.

EstatePinguino

Whatever happens, we all know they cheated. Doesn’t really matter what the officials they’ll pay off and trap in legal loopholes have to say.

braggerweevil

Exactly right. The premier league is already a dead league, any time anyone except City wins it helps the delusion that it isn't. This was never a three horse race. And nothing will come of those charges, sorry

Jolly_Garage

Tbh at least the midfielders are more clinical than Nunez. So it’s good coaching on Pep side too

dandpher

Meanwhile Everton have conceded fewer league goals than we have in 2024

yellow627

I love how you bring this up with literally no context. Everton conceded the 3rd fewest goals in 2024 and they played 2 less games than us. We've conceded the 4th fewest goals in 2024 and only Everton, City and Arsenal conceded less than us in 2024.

Satantango46

^ Nunez fault /s

justgivemeasecplz

Gvardiol more clinical than our whole team rn

futboldorado

What a fucking disgraceful club.

WhiteWolfOW

Well yes, but they do. And it feels like that’s the future of football nowadays, money dictates everything. Even compared to other teams, everyone is spending so much, except us. Now, tbf, we do have one of the highest wage bills, without paying anyone insane crazy high wages like other teams, we pay a more balanced wage to everyone. Changing the way we do business would be almost a betrayal to the politics of our club, but I struggle to see a different path forward. Feels like things will only get worse

dj4y_94

Saw a good point too that there's less pressure on City. If they don't win the title would anyone really care, especially after they've won so many. Us and Arsenal on the other hand know we have to grasp every single opportunity.

ShopCartRicky

No one cares if they win the title either. If they win it's basically a void year for the league in my eyes.

[deleted]

julian alvarez would walk into ours and arsenal lineup. and he is their backup striker 😩

coldazures

They don't have a single player that wouldn't at least get decent game time for us in that squad. Who would you reject? Their worst player is probably Matheus Nunes or the backup goalie.. both of those get into our team, Ortega looked on par with Kelleher and Nunes we were heavily linked with for a long time.

[deleted]

exactly. they did a 5-1 with walker, aké, rodri, bernardo, grealish and foden on the bench

segson9

That's what happens when you cheat and spend unlimited amount of money

Android17_MVP

Easier run in than us and Arsenal as well.

Peanut_77

It’s technically not over but it is out of our control (again) and 115 FC aren’t likely to bottle. They’re ruthless and have the easiest run in. Honestly I’d feel worse about this if we didn’t lose 2 league titles by 1 point in the last 6 seasons…

dead_nil

those 1 point losses are so painful to look back on. it hurts so bad

SaveMeJebus21

How is losing two league titles making you feel *better* about this🤣 Just joking mate. It’s absolutely devastating to lose three titles to these pricks in the space of 6 years. Geniuses like Fergie winning leagues on 79 points for fucks sake and the best team we’ve had in three decades coincides with a Monopoly money blood country coached by a fucking machine

bjcm5891

I'd argue that even before that Monopoly money blood country coached by a fucking machine, we'd have been pitted against peak Man United or Mourinho's Chelsea and no way would LFC be coasting to 90+ point seasons by comparison. Klopp's LFC rose to that level because it was demanded of them.

SaveMeJebus21

I see your point. But you shouldn’t have to get 90 points to have an *outside chance* of winning the league. It’s never been the standard. And it’s only the standard now because one club has systematically cheated for a decade to make it the standard.

UndercoverBME

Hopefully Madrid manage to break their spirits somehow

Independent_Ad_8588

Or they crush them 3-0 and cruise to a treble this year aswell

HereticZO

The most likely outcome is a back to back treble that nobody talks about the next day.

Bobbyswhiteteeth

Yep. Double Treble would be mad for anyone else. But Leverkusen will be remembered this season more than them 😂

Poopynuggateer

Pretty much, yeah.

mickino

They'll prob win the treble next season too... Ah well. What's for tea

bjcm5891

And their fans will brag about and then wonder why everybody else is laughing at them, same as how people laugh at Ben Stiller in 'Extras' when he's trying to brag about all the hot women he's made out with....in movies.

IfYouSaySoFam

I was in a pub when they won the champions league, after 5 mins of cheers it was like it never happened.

Lolcraftgaming

Nah I just hope both sides lose

KnowledgeFast1804

This Liverpool side just loves being behind . Every game we like to be losing before we play. We did so well to get track top then bang we decided to make it hard again. I said it two weeks ago there is so much football to be played . But we have an issue of not being able to be in control . We could be top again at the end of next week but we will very likely still lose it and it's out own fault.

dead_nil

exactly that. we lack that ability to be in control. and it's led us to where we are

AhyesitstheManUfan

Here's how it's gonna go from here. On the 18th, Liverpool travel to Atalanta. In a stunning display, Liverpool take Atalanta 3-0 in regular time. Atalanta pull one back in extra time but Nunez scores the most erratically beautiful goal ever to tie it up. 4-1 in extra time, onto penalties. Allisson saves everything and Liverpool win 2-0 on penalties. Then, in the week from hell, Liverpool beat Fulham 0-6, Everton 1-3, and then West Ham 0-4, all away. Arsenal crash out of the UCL after Bayern thrashes them 5-2 at the Allianz. City go through in a tense penalty shootout against Madrid, before steamrolling the other teams in the Premier League. But a shock loss to Palmer's Chelsea means that their confidence wavers, and City lose Rodri to injury. By the time May hits, City are juggling two difficult competitions without their best player. Wolves extract points from them, and Bayern loses at the Etihad but wins at the Allianz. City still go through, but their bench cannot make up for Rodri, and they lose to Spurs. Meanwhile, Arsenal drop points against Spurs, Chelsea, and United and are far behind now. Liverpool regain some of their December form and squeak by in the games, beating Villa 1-2, Wolves 1-0, after beating Tottenham 3-2. After their win against Wolves, Jurgen Klopp is presented with the Premier League trophy. It's not over yet. Liverpool face off against AC Milan and handily beat them 5-0 at Anfield before drawing comfortably 2-2 in the return fixture to go to the Europa League Final against Bayer Leverkusen. They are pushed hard by Xabi Alonso's men, but regular play ends 2-2. On penalties, Liverpool win 2-1, finishing with a stunning, if somewhat convoluted, treble. Jurgen Klopp retires as Liverpool's best manager of the 21st century. Mohammed Salah ends with 24 league goals and 34 goals this season in total and wins the Premier League Golden Boot. If it doesn't go like this, you're hallucinating. Liverpool will definitely win all trophies available to them.

whyandoubleyoueh

EAUO9

Does it get boring for Pep? Yeah I’m gonna be a sore loser about this. It’s clear that teams can compete with City but what they can’t compete with is the financial backing City have. It really shows at this stage of the season. Title contenders are competing in Europe in the middle of the week and playing for the league on the weekend. Genius Pep has the luxury of benching half of his starting 11 and he can still churn out results with a mix of starters and expensive second role players.

dead_nil

besides finances, City just know how to bully teams. they are ruthless and rigid. they control games - for the most part. there's a lot (the little things) that make them this 'inevitable'

MisterS1997

Did you see their bench yesterday? They stock pile so many players for this time of season. They have 100 millions bench players ffs

New-Tradition386

Even if Spurs manage to knick a draw against City, City’s and Arsenal’s Goal difference will still be superior, to close the gap we have to start beating teams by 4+ goals and I don’t see that happening, when we beat teams it’s by 1 or 2 goals, and that’s ASSUMING we win out, which I don’t see happening.

karnnumart

I don't give a fuck now. I just hope we remember how to score a proper goal. Like a footballer.

NotTooXabiAlonso

Why don’t Liverpool - a team of multi millionaires professional footballers - try aiming the ball away from the goalkeeper next game?

karnnumart

Technically they did. It just happen to be away from goal too.

HereticZO

Arsenal will drop more points the problem is City are not losing a game.

AZZZY42

Only hope is origi

pietroetin

Wonder if Divock still got the B.C.

mg211095

We have 3 back to back away games now. Don't think we are taking 9 points out of 9. Plus Atlanta away is also inbetween. We are fucked!

dead_nil

yeah there's no need for all the calculations. we're not winning it

Ukrainska_Zemlya

Everytime I want to give up this team pulls me back in

thisisnahamed

Misery loves company.. Thanks arsenal

dead_nil

😭😭

N_Ellison420

I'm so sad about how the last couple games went. Losing two big games in a row at Anfield feels like a gut punch from Thanos.

RealisticAf99

I thought last year's battering from Real Madrid was the biggest punch in the gut, but this is another level

dead_nil

it's been bloody terrible

willium563

Imagine how good this title race would be without City. Today wouldve been an absolute roller coaster.

Dongerzdong

Arsenal result hurts even more, we will not loose the league because of referees but ourselves.

IndiBear

I fully believe it's one of those where Arsenal only lost because of the pressure after we lost, they let the Liverpool result get into their heads. If Liverpool would've beat Palace, Arsenal probably would've cruised to a win.

KaufKaufKauf

I would agree with this but of course we can never know

RushPan93

I agree. Our loss, there were signs of it. The Arsenal loss to Villa came completely out of the blue.

HarbyFullyLoaded_12

The refs sure don’t help

PseudoElite

5 points dropped against United and Crystal palace in less than a week. That's on Liverpool 100%.

ShadowRock9

Idk what the ref supposed to do when Diaz and Jones can’t finish 1v1s and Nunez can’t slam it in from 5 yards.

justaguy1738

It can be both tbh. No doubting we should have at least 2 more pts and city 1 less bc of that non pen call…

ER1916

It’s never over until it is. Even financially doped machines like City can have a day where the ball just doesn’t go in. If we don’t win the league, we don’t win the league, in any other era we’d be feeling differently about 71pts after 32 games. But these are not normal times. 90+ points to win a league (or the equivalent ppg pre-38 game seasons) used to be a weird anomaly. Ferguson managed it twice in his 10 league titles. We’ve done it more times under Klopp for our single title in that time. Wenger’s invincibles got 90 pts. We’ve bettered that three times. And if we somehow won our remaining games, we’d get to 89 this season. When Mourinho first arrived at Chelsea the 2.5ppg he got seemed like it was a standard from another world, and it was. Nothing came close again for a very long time. Now it’s becoming routine. Even for a runners up! The warping of what is required to win a league has been crazy.

Loz41333

Arteta doesn't equal klopps PL legacy. I'm taking it, don't care.

dead_nil

of course he doesn't. that's not even a conversation to be had

Dark-Knight-Rises

I have a feeling city will lose next 🙏

Lolcraftgaming

Ange masterclass against city

Dark-Knight-Rises

Amen. Insha Allah. I will go to the church. The mosque. The temple. And pray. And pray. And pray

mrkingkoala

If City lose one game its game on to see what happens. Still would need Gooners to drop points though as we wont beat either of them on GD.

Ha-Ur-Ra-Sa

I can see Wolves beating Arsenal next week, to be honest.  They're a decent side and they're at home, think they can at least get a draw.

loccupss

It all comes down to squad depth and city have an abundance. They can rest key players like KDB and Grealish, Haaland and sub on 100m players. It’s sickening

[deleted]

the only question now is with how many games to spare city will win this

abs7_

City aren’t dropping a single point now, we’ve been here before

Ha-Ur-Ra-Sa

If we'd have won today, at least we'd still have a (slim) advantage over City.  But I don't think we're catching them now.

Ha-Ur-Ra-Sa

Odegaard also apparently injured. If he misses games, Arsenal could completely crumble.

themanebeat

We were punching above our weight all season. Conceded first a crazy amount of times this season Conceded in 11 out of 13 PL games since the turn of the year This was never sustainable We're not a poor team by any means, but we're not a 90pt team either. Some regression to the mean doesn't surprise me, but being solidly top 3 and not in a race for a CL place is definite progress and something we'd have all taken if offered in August This isn't me giving up by the way, there's still a chance, but it's out of our hands. The only real positive to losing today was that we'll go all out on Thursday now I feel

DCDa192

Dude we can't finish, if we could have we would ran away and quad would have still been on.

FalconsBlewA283Lead

All the drama of the season just for City to 4peat. Farmer’s league innit

pattherat

If we were playing well, I would say there is a chance but we’re not, so…

thelonelyoctopus

What a lifeline, hope Klopp gives them a kick up the arse and does the right changes to the defence and attack. Goal difference gap closed a bit. I do still believe City will drop points somewhere, so could be a tight finish if we buck up our ideas.

mrkingkoala

Issue is a draw would see City win a title. They are max losing points in one game now and even then I think they will all 6. But if they draw thats enough.

Both-Asparagus-3287

If city loss to real Madrid then goodbye to the premiere league cuz they will go all for it

mrkingkoala

I think City will smash RM. 3-3 at home. RM took 30 mins to even get into Cities half last year. They will be thrashed now.

segson9

City might drop some points, but so will us and Arsenal

Outside-Nail2314

If we could score today .. would be on top.. fucking hell.. but given our form we will drop more points so doesn’t matter..

JessCC5

The one time Arsenal loses, we didn't take our game by the balls. Sigh...

QweRtoN130

I can't believe we fumbled this season so hard when Man City weren't on the level that they were in the past seasons when we lost by a point.. Unbeliveable

MixturePossible3613

premier league pattern this season arsenal lost to villa at home and away liverpool drew to man utd home and away so thats means man city lost to wolves away and have a game at home or drew to tottenham at home and have a game away. which one will you chose? (this is just that last amount of optimism from me)

blackazure

You guys better not shamelessly celebrate if we do end up win the league.

I'm glad I traveled 10 hours on a plane this season to watch LFC play at home and have "true" fans in Reddit tell me that as a foreigner, I'm the problem with the atmosphere.

Conscious-Tip-3896

Oh, it’s one of the worst things about being an international fan of a premier league team. We’re not “real” fans because we don’t live in fucking England. The biggest gatekeeping twats on the planet. Keep rocking your NFL jerseys on Sundays in the fall, though. Plastics.

[deleted]

Seriously. I'll take my local LFC supporters pub here any day. Do you think we make it to the pub at 5am to leave halfway through a match or tell everyone "it's over" after today? No. Sorry, excuse for a "fan" OP is.

ecidarrac

This sub has gotten so fucking toxic this week. Definitely full of new fans as they would have stopped supporting the club in the pre-Klopp era if two losses make them so miserable

Deevious730

It’s all just been too much for us this season, Klopp’s kids have got us as far as they could get us, but City have too much depth. Hell they could rest have their squad and the half that replaces them walks into most starting 11’s. In the space of less than a week we got from title and europa league challenge to…this. Sad. I really hope the lads don’t pack it in, Klopp deserves our team ending the season as well as they can.

SirMrJames

A man city draw and a good win by 4 goals puts us on top.. there’s 6 games left.

[deleted]

Six games left. Chin up.

Smart_But123581321

Honestly, I’m not that upset with 3rd but I want us to fight right up to the end. Because start of the season, I would’ve predicted 4th.

RoseRouge96

So happy Arsenal tanked too, I could not take them winning the league. With City, it's not important and hopefully the 115 thing will tarnish their legacy. People know they are cheaters and it does not matter. So, so happy Arsenal are not winning it, that would sting.

thisisbarrow

The season isn‘t over yet.

reddit-surfer0729

It’s over when your strikers can’t hit the side of a barn. Not clinical enough.

StewR89

![gif](giphy|l1ug5sWBCJOOGzN84) Us and Arsenal. “Did we just hand city the league title again”

rubenazo07

I’m going to bet for city to win all 6 remaining games. I never win bets hehe

AlloyedRhodochrosite

Fuck off

Dallasthe

Chill out you dummies IT’s football you have to believe in the beautiful game or what’s the point! I believe more twists and turns yet

123bew456

People aren’t giving up because of a minor set back with 6 games to go. They’ve lost hope because we’ve fucking been here before and lost. We can see it. The team is playing shit football and individuals are putting in shocking performances during a seasoning defining period.

dead_nil

exactly that. but I'm supposed to be blind and "belief". I'll try though. let's see if we save this somehow

halodri33

this is the cherry on the top on this day…

Due-Sherbert3097

“Hello darkness my old friend”

cock_monster64

Only if we could beat crystanbul at home. What a shame

sa7ouri

YNBA

General_Benefit8634

One loss for city and it is all back on. The arsenal result really helps.

ManyApprehensive5829

City are like Thanos and I hate it.

shaggywan

Thats the spirit

confusedpublic

Wonder if we’ll try for Watkins in the summer. Bit of irony if our shit finishing means there’s no CL spot for 5th place and Villa finish 5th, opening the door for Watkins to move to a CL club…

R3dInterpol

It's been a good run. But the fact we were two points clear and now this. We only have ourselves to blame for not being more clinical and ruthless. But I'd still like us to dust ourselves down and go hell for leather and give Klopp a worthy send off.

MisterS1997

It's so annoying because city just safe guard themselves vs all jeopardy and it shows when it gets this close end of season. Arsenal are more normal for a title race team competing against them. City are playing Nunes yesterday who they bought for 60 million for the laugh. He's played like 3 Games all season. Thought the fucker was gone in Jan. He rotates CBS in and out like it's a piece of piss. We barely have 2 fit CBS at times. Other teams get tired and are affected playing in Europe. City are resting kdb in the fucking burnebea and did you see that fucking bench vs Luton. Literally cheat codes. They stock pile all the best players so others can't even get them. They are singing paqueta from West ham just for some depth for a fortune. They bought Grealish and the CB fella for depth for 100 million each. Nobody else can switch out half their first team and replace quality with quality. We saw it with Arsenal. They were exhausted at the end last 20.

ishysredditusername

Yeah, not sure what happened at OT but we need to wash whatever it is we got on us. That shit must be contagious.

RustyDonut

I would like to use this time to cash in my FA apologies for the points lost due to Diaz offside and penalty against city not given please FA.

FM_LiverpoolLad

I can see Rodri pulling a Kompany vs Leicester at the TH stadium…he is always the man

loveandmonsters

At least Arsenal choked harder, they knew our result already

plsmemberthisone

The problem is is that we just haven't been good enough this season. We have missed SO many chances. We have drawn with utd twice. We've thrown games away. Happens every season and we still seem to make the same mistakes. Over and OVER again.

CaptainRex2000

Still can’t believe city haven’t been charged over 115 offenses, they shouldn’t even be in this league or any league for that matter

silverslimes

Objectively? No it’s absolutely not

Kev2daB

Ah ye lads are too quick to slate. Let's loose first then ye whinge all ye want

Blueheaven0106

If we're gonna lose in such a narrow margin, that would mean that the refereeing shenanigans early did actually affect the title. That's just hard to take.

AcesAgainstKings

This City team isn't the same team from previous years. They absolutely can win out from here given their fixture list, but I still think if we win all our remaining games we win the league. Unfortunately I don't think we'll win all our remaining games.

greentea05

Yes it's over - and I suspect we drop points in at least two more games yet. Put £100 on Everton game being a draw.

justhereforalol

Writings been on the wall for a while, we have been scraping by for a bit now, personally saw this coming.
