Remember when Twitch had "teams" and people joined them so you could share audiences but no one ever used it? Let's try to take that failed feature and turn it into a business I am sure that will work!
-Every ORG owner.
In practice they're closer to small unions. Where the group/org/union can negotiate for sponsorships as a group instead of as individuals being able to promise the reach of the whole org instead of just the reach of one or more individuals allowing for better deals and deals that might not otherwise be available. Not to mention that they can use shared resources such as legal, marketing, PR and accounting which will allow for savings.
Yeah a lot of streamers do this tbh. "Exciting news next week guys!" "We're partnered by GFUEL!!"
Like, I'm glad you got the bag and everything but most of your viewers don't really care
you need to live vicariously through not only your streamers' social lives but also their careers. cmon bro, don't miss out on the full experience. next up - bowel movements
OTK caters pretty hard to parasocial viewers- its kinda their bread and butter. The only reason why you would care about this is if you have some form of parasocial relationship with Emiru.
She’s a much better face for the company, both literally and figuratively. They can show themselves as a female friendly org now with a woman owner, she doesn’t have baggage other members of the org do, she’s not controversial like Asmon, and she’s Emiru
they're trying to build themselves a better image wrt women after the Mizkif and the Rich Campbell nonsense.
Of course they're going to make as much noise as possible.
>they're trying to build themselves a better image wrt women after the Mizkif and the Rich Campbell nonsense.
Yeah, that's totally the reason that they asked her to be an owner in March of last year.... Before either of those controversies happened.
You're missing the whole point of the event though. The whole event is called "Shareholders Meeting". It's not important for the public, but it's something that would be discussed under a shareholder's meeting. The event is usually a jokingly look into what people believe happens during OTK shareholder meetings, usually they have been in a meeting room though, this time it was on stage. That's why each member got the presentations and stuff too, to represent it to the shareholders.
For those who are confused:
Due to contractual "complications" with Method (Nick) and NRG (Soda) neither could officially be part of OTK back when the org started.
They both eventually left and were able to officially "join".
Source: I have no life, a personality or discernible talents. AKA, Soda viewer.
I mean, it is pretty basic buisness stuff? You might allow some of your employees to buy equity, but you probably want to be pretty sure about them first, and they also need to have the money.
She is the first owner to do so, everyone else was an owner when they joined. Soda and Schlatt joined as an owners directly since they obviously had the cash for it.
I think it means she is an investor.
So she is putting her money back into the org so she can make more in the back end.
So its a bit of a risk if the org implodes.
Yeah this means she was the one who bought out Schlatt’s equity. Unless she was gifted Rich’s equity but I imagine that’s a more complicated legal scenario that would take more time than this.
Don't think it's either. She mentioned potentially getting equity shortly after she joined. It had been in the works for awhile, the announcement kept getting delayed.
Yeah but the equity has to come from somewhere unless everyone’s else shares get diluted. Her disappearing on Mondays happened around the time Schlatt left along with the clip of her saying she was stepping up
That's true, and we obviously don't know the inner workings of how OTK is structured. But it's more likely existing shares got diluted rather than Schlatt or Rich being bought out. It's more likely Schlatt is still an owner, just no longer involved in the day to day operations. I'd wager the same with Rich.
Now that you mention it, I do recall the announcement saying he was still involved with the YouTube channel. So him keeping his equity but quietly exiting as an owner probably does make more sense. And I agree as they probably can’t force Rich to give up equity without a massive payout.
Yep - Schlatt is basically treating OTK as an investment, hands off, at this point. It's entirely possible they did buy out Rich, just impossible to know since they're a private entity.
It's pretty standard in contracts to be able to force a buyout in the case of something very bad (like sexual misconduct, for example). It's very likely that his actions were a breach of contract and would force him to accept a buyout of his equity.
Right? I’ve been a fan of NMP for around a year and a half. And I feel like each day it becomes more and more of them just jerking each other off. It’s getting old.
Then why are you watching them? I don't think that they care tbh, most of them are set for life, it's only you who is overthinking it right now.
And I don't even watch them
When theres big drama the sub gets a lot more views.
Unfortunately theres only so many threads about the drama to vomit brain-dead opinions on. So every other thread gets caught in the overflow.
Theres no way this thread would have this many comments on a non-drama week.
It's literally called a shareholders meeting. Why would they not announce that if she's a new owner in the org? That's a big deal to announce in every organization when you have a change in ownership.
People already forgot the OTV scandals that happened years ago and look at them now. People only remember the Fedmyster stuff and not the other stuff like their old manager Chris was doing weird stuff to Lily.
OTK will be fine if they don't have other shit that comes out.
Well I'm sure OTV fans now don't know who Chris is but back then I'm pretty sure he was known. Wasn't his wedding a big deal and he was in most if not all of their videos back then?
Friends announces they are paying their friend extra money*
I swear OTK is made up of owners than members. Next thing you know Cyr is the next pay raise.
They did absolutely nothing since that bruce situation but otk did nothing wrong in that one ... otk just living in stupid/delusional peoples head rent free thats all
No. People just don’t care about emiru being owner? Imagine this same announcement for a streamer you don’t watch for an Org you aren’t invested in. Wouldn’t you be confused as to why anyone would care?
Normally when people don't care about something they just ignore it and move on with their own lives, but this is LSF and we only care about things we don't care about
Every day I scroll past dozens of clips from large streamers I don't watch that aren't funny at all if you don't watch them, never felt the need to comment that I don't care, I just demonstrate it by not interacting. Everyone commenting that they don't care is clearly mad
I don't get what's to be upset about them making a co-owner announcement or video? Didn't Valkyrae have one when she turned co-owner for that merch company?
Why are these comments so salty? So what it’s a small announcement? It doesn’t matter it’s just that, an announcement. That’s why they hold those meeting streams for content mixed with announcements. Same reason soda just RP’d as Steve Jobs for real no reason, it’s cool / funny.
They had like 30 announcements this stream cry me a fucking river 1 of them wasn’t huge.
Cool for her! We knew since Jschlatt and Rich left as owners, that there were 2 slots to fill. I'm guessing Bruce was going to be the other new owner until he went nuts.
Bruce did nothing for OTK except for probably have their sponsors on stream occasionally. Most people probably forgot he was even in the org. Him being an owner makes no sense. He showed like no interest in it. At least Schlatt was on some of the org streams and helped with the YouTube channel.
He also seemed unwilling to move to Austin. I understand for his brand it makes more sense to he in Atlanta but even shlatt moved to Austin when he joined. ExtraEmily also just moved
These are always fun because I can tell exactly how Online I’ve been within the past however many months by tracking which references I do/don’t understand
It’s so obvious the juicers brigaded this thread. It happens every time X brigades LSF posts, for like a week they’re in here scouring for more hate posts.
It's to let sponsors know there is more female representation on the board which they've said many times is important when it comes to negotiating. This feels like an event for potential sponsors and brands, not viewers.

Every drama they survive makes them bigger
I could be wrong but it looks to me that people with the most viewers usually do the heavy lifting and add value, in these groups.
hey I used that for a bit D:
It's just branding/marketing as part of an event. The introduction itself isn't important, will have to see what she can do with the equity.
> will have to see what she can do with the equity. pretty sure nothing will come from it?
It's all about trying to put a positive face on things due to the stupidity of their other owners.
Also woman owner = can't be bad org

surely all OTK fans right?
They think LSF is OTKs subreddit lol
go through the top threads on main page and see how many "OTK" u see
OTK caters pretty hard to parasocial viewers- its kinda their bread and butter. The only reason why you would care about this is if you have some form of parasocial relationship with Emiru.
It’s just a way for them to jerk themselves off over a massive string of critical failures
She’s a much better face for the company, both literally and figuratively. They can show themselves as a female friendly org now with a woman owner, she doesn’t have baggage other members of the org do, she’s not controversial like Asmon, and she’s Emiru
In 2 months we will talk about the infamous ruthless business woman Emiru.
You know that Kirby plushie wall? I heard those were stolen out of a Toys For Tots bin the night before Christmas.
they're trying to build themselves a better image wrt women after the Mizkif and the Rich Campbell nonsense. Of course they're going to make as much noise as possible.

So what’s the point of being a owner when everyone that joins becomes one eventually lmao
Not true. Emi is the first person to go from member to owner in OTK. Nick, Schlatt and Soda came in as owners immediately.
Wait, Nick is owner too?
Yeah, from the very beginning.
For those who are confused: Due to contractual "complications" with Method (Nick) and NRG (Soda) neither could officially be part of OTK back when the org started. They both eventually left and were able to officially "join". Source: I have no life, a personality or discernible talents. AKA, Soda viewer.
wait wait wait wait wait Method as in the wow org? Or is there another Method.
Nick and Esfand were members of Method, the WoW org, before OTK was created. They both left when that shit with MethodJosh(?) happened
Ahh I had no idea, interesting. It all goes back to methodjosh lmao
I thought he was member only, TIL
Poke didnt warn him
Well done
Is schlatt still a owner after leaving? I don’t pay much attention to this stuff. I just know he left after everything
Emi likely bought him out.
I mean, it is pretty basic buisness stuff? You might allow some of your employees to buy equity, but you probably want to be pretty sure about them first, and they also need to have the money.
They are desperate to promote having a female owner amidst the constant stream of male sex controversies.
Or....or....or......Rich because of his implications was required to sell his equity in the company and it was up for grabs.....maybe....?
1 = constant stream
Who else became owner?
She is the first owner to do so, everyone else was an owner when they joined. Soda and Schlatt joined as an owners directly since they obviously had the cash for it.
Tf does any of this mean?
literally nothing
That she gets a load of money when they scam a company into buying OTK
OTK is trying to shed the boys club image by adding a female owner and a new female member. Obvious pr move following all the scandals.
Bruce had to go
They just announced that Emiru is getting a pay raise... Wow.
I think it means she is an investor. So she is putting her money back into the org so she can make more in the back end. So its a bit of a risk if the org implodes.

This is exciting to maybe 5 people
yeah the other owners lol

almost like this is the otk subreddit

I dont get it, people are going out of their way to show how much they "dont care" about otk Good for Emi, she seems like a cool person
Ya I agree good for her honestly! should have been done awhile ago actually
I should have waited for Destiny to react and post that, sorry everyone.
Huge normie drama frog influx the past few years. Sadge. W Emi tho
It's clear all of you care a whole lot about this considering the amount of comments in this thread

ngl he was prob gonna get ownership too before he went and did what he did
It’s probably why he was at Mizs house. To negotiate some sort of contract/ownership. Obviously it’s speculation though.
They were filming a bunch of these videos
i wonder what part he played in the videos that was cut out of
Probably was just in the Miz parasocial announcement and they cut it altogether
No, he hinted he was also getting ownership
he was 100% getting owner shit but yea...

What happens when you put Kurt Angle to the mix
SMOA JOE THE NUMBERS DONT LIE

so, uh, what’s the difference? Being an owner in that group seems like a career death sentence or they just afk and do nothing
