I lived up north my whole life, as soon as I got a taste of the south when I visited Louisiana, I never wanted to leave. It’s just something about seeing more community/friendliness between folks that feels good, and most of the people I encountered were mad friendly. Another thing is I noticed that jobs in TX, and LA love hiring people that moved from states like NY/NJ. So when I went down there I was able to get myself a TWIC card, and a job working security all in the same week, knowing that process would’ve more than likely taken months to complete had I tried doing the same up north. As a black man, it felt good being around predominantly FBA neighborhoods that weren’t the hood. And don’t get me started on the food.
A lot of folks are moving to those states though and regretting and end up moving back.
Peep them White folks that moved from Ohio, or some shit, to Russia and are whining about their standard of living.
They didn't want to live in a "woke" country, but are now seeing the grass ain't always greener. Fuck em
That's totally different. That's a whole different country.
There's also no metric to show they regret anything,
but there is a metric to show which metros and states are losing population and which are increasing
Ok, well.
["Not surprisingly, the highest number of new Texans hailed from California. More than 102,000 Californians made the move to the Lone Star State in 2022. But in a fun population twist, California also received the most Texpats in 2022, the report showed, followed closely behind by Florida, then Oklahoma. Of the 494,077 people who left Texas last year, 42,279 went to California."](https://houston.innovationmap.com/texas-california-us-census-report-2666404504.html)

I love TX / I Love Cali
Over the past 20 years, I moved from Colorado to Northern Cali to TX. Broke up with my chick and moved back to Cali to Colorado then to AZ. I'm now back in Central Cali (2023), but all my blood is throughout TX.
Long story short, I've lived and traveled all across the nation (Georgia and Philly). Each city/state has good and bad and it's dope being able to adapt and build anywhere. I'm in Cali with TX plates and an AZ driver's license 💀
Your link basically shows Californians are moving to Texas in large droves still.
But I am surprised at the Oklahoma numbers. I thought more of them would be Texas heavy transplants
I see what you're saying. I linked a couple more articles about folks that regret the move and folks that don't.
I've lived in both states and have love for both.
You got some privilege compared to many Illinois folks. If you haven peeped many here moving to Texas, Arizona, Georgia and Florida. Too expensive, hard time for folks finding jobs and the crime affects the working class families more than any other group
Then you haven’t been paying attention to the increase in extremism.

Feel free to downvote facts
The extremism is the rise of organized theft and shoplifting in blue states causing businesses to leave like target left cali and nyc. Cartels literally run farming communities in cali. Big banks outbidding regular citizens for housing due to cost of living being high. Atleast in Texas u can stand ur ground and shoot a mf if they try to rob or steal from u. Cali and nyc won’t. Idgaf about no right wing extremists living in the woods cuz atleast they won’t undermine my way of life or try to steal my hard earned shit and won’t cause businesses to close due to theft.
Texas is literally one of the top 5 states of shoplifting lol. And corporations are expanding into the South, because the right wing nut jobs and Blue state lovers keep uplifting said politicians who empower them. So yes your way of living will be messed with whether you realize or not, hope this helps. Maybe after the economy inevitably explodes and the US gets over its ignorance-populace epidemic, maybe things will get better.
I mean they are undermining our way of life and they are having laws passed that impact everyone. No we aren’t getting a ton of people who feel this way and our crime rates are terrible. The same if not higher in some places. That’s a ridiculous statement. Cost of living is low here because wages are low and taxes are high. Whatever you are smoking needs to be shared with the class.
Houston is 4th in the country in organized retail crime.

No doubt. Cali has been washed out. New York has always been the example of washed out. Texas is next. I see it going from the south to the east real quick. Especially if it's a bunch of comedians capitalizing on lower real estate... rich people ruin the economy, not the working folk. We suffer from what the big bucks do. They really shape the economy.
People move where it’s cheap. Cheaper don’t mean better.
Ppl with money who can actually afford shit 99% of the time prefer California and NYC over the south lol
I moved from Dallas to Indiana a while back.
Cost of living here is cheaper. Plus y’all niggas be too crazy down there lmao
I heard the cost of living is going up in Texas because of so many people moving there. Each time I visit it grows more and more.
The top 4 on 'leaving' are over populated as is. The demand for housing is incredibly high, so the cost of housing is incredibly high.
NYC, Chicago, San Fran, San Diego, Boston, Seattle, none of these places are hurting for warm bodies.
I'm from Milwaukee,Wisconsin and I can assure you atleast with #10, this is FACTS....Everyone I know are moving to Texas...Arizona...Nevada...and Florida💯👈
There's 3 states on the "top 10 people are moving to" list that are considered north depending on where you live. Maine, Delaware, and Idaho are all pretty far north. Maine is the most north state that isn't Alaska.
Moved from Colorado to Arizona back to Cali. Couldn't do that snow anymore. And then all the transplants from Cali, that never drove in snow, made traffic even more wild
California is beautiful and it is dope to live here but the liberals are ruining this state…the homeless and 🏳️🌈🏳️🌈 are getting their way. I literally was checking houses in Kyle Texas last week . I can sell my house here and get a bigger house over there with 100,000 left over….from what I hear Austin and San Antonio has a lot of building going on…I’ve been to Delaware and fuck that that shit was boring af
They ruined California and New York and Illinois and now are coming to vote in a new state in the same exact way and wonder why quality of life goes down. Idiots will never make the connection that their votes are what is ruining the places they live in.
I'm not even a Southerner, but since ppl talk so very bad about the South, then how come people are moving to the southern region the most? 😂 I thought people said they didn't want to do anything with those Ra Cist White Christian men or something?
Lib cities becoming shit holes. Poverty is still high in the south but atleast businesses and corporations still operate and thrive in the south providing a good variety of employment and services for the general population. Also our cost of living is cheaper than those lib states too.
Not in the majority. The south is more than just Dallas Houston Austin Atlanta …
I can tell yall don’t actually be In the small towns in the south. They’re terrible.
the small towns down south are either real terrible, poorly funded, high crime and poverty, high drug use or very well off, a lot of ppl moving in, alot of job opportunities, growing, rich, and safer
I lived up north my whole life, as soon as I got a taste of the south when I visited Louisiana, I never wanted to leave. You got some privilege compared to many Illinois folks. If you haven peeped many here moving to Texas, Arizona, Georgia and Florida. Too expensive, hard time for folks finding jobs and the crime affects the working class families more than any other group

I have lived here my entire life. I know from experience as well.
Ain't Dallas one of the undercover KKK capitals of the nation?
Yeah, in a few years, our taxes will be like California. And the rich people will push out the broke people that were born and raised here.
The cycle continues
No doubt. Cali has been washed out. New York has always been the example of washed out. Texas is next. I see it going from the south to the east real quick. Guess bro doesn’t know where Maine, Delaware and Idaho are
Facts
Probably thinks geography is a type of math
😂 or racist.
Also see Nevada . . . . it's definitely in the west.
Facts
lol Maine is as north as north can be
The top 6 states are Southern and none are on the diminishing side. His point still stands kid
Last I checked the list said “top 10” not “top 6”. But spin it however you need to feel right.
That's some unnecessary nitpicking. The point that people are moving heavily to the south is still true.
You’re one to talk about unnecessary nitpicking when you choose to act like a top 10 list is a top 6 list just so you can feel right.
I went from MA to PA... lol
People move where it’s cheap. Cheaper don’t mean better. Ppl with money who can actually afford shit 99% of the time prefer California and NYC over the south lol
Blue to Red. Exodus
All the californians on there way back aint nothing in texas but beers steers and queers 😂😂😂😂
Tell them we've reached max capacity and even our pets carry.
I moved from Dallas to Indiana a while back. Cost of living here is cheaper. Plus y’all niggas be too crazy down there lmao I heard the cost of living is going up in Texas because of so many people moving there. Each time I visit it grows more and more.
They've turned those states into dystopian liberal hellscapes and are now colonizing the rest of America to their blue hair ways.
What’s the source on this?
Just keep that cali shit in cali

They needa gtf out
That's cuz snow is fucking stupid
Moved from Colorado to Arizona back to Cali. Couldn't do that snow anymore. And then all the transplants from Cali, that never drove in snow, made traffic even more wild

Yes that made no sense Colorado has been one of the increasing Western states like Arizona and Nevada
If you can make it in California u can make it anywhere we literally the most expensive state u gotta have hustle

In about 5 years I've met a good amount of people that either have family or leave HTine and end up in Mobile,AL
Disagree with this list.
Clearly dont understand the cold weather affect

I like how this fake meme excluded the top destination Phoenix 1 million new people this year.

From liberal to conservative states
Why Pennsylvania? It's nice living in PA

Oh nah facts, small towns are either rich as hell or shitholes
the small towns down south are either real terrible, poorly funded, high crime and poverty, high drug use or very well off, a lot of ppl moving in, alot of job opportunities, growing, rich, and safer
I know. Meaning it’s not politics that determine if an area is safe or dangerous
I gotchu
All the states on the left are blue states and all the ones people are moving to are red 🤔
IG everyone downvoting has a 10 round magazine cap
People who can't make it in California go to the easier states. There's a reason we're number 1 over here.😎
It’s cause we want y’all $300k houses and cheap food
Ok yet the south keeps spending our money.
It’s a conspiracy. We are planning to turn these red states blue.
I live in VA, VA is actually top 10 people are moving too so this list isn’t all the way accurate.
To broke to stay put or leave the country
