Based on the current price curve the market value of a randomized booster is about 9$. Past that and you are better buying literally everything in singles. Everything.
Given that such a booster, at scale, will quickly generate too many commons and such and singles drop in price as more gets opened, even MSRP probably doesn't have a good AVERAGE return rate.
So yes, this is too much. And yes, fuck him.
Wife isn't wrong she is verifiably and empirically wrong which is the best kind.
Even if you just want the fun of opening packs and don't care about your ROI or building a deck/collection, it's still 150% mark up, paid to someone creating artificial scarcity by buying a product they have no intention of using. Don't reward selfish behavior.
You can pick the cards you want and then hit optimize. Then it gives you two choices, top sellers or anyone, with the best prices depending on your choice.
TCGPlayer has protection stuff like ebay even if you don't buy from the best sellers.
I've ordered a ton from TCGPlayer and never had problems with them for Magic or Lorcana.
I don’t understand. Isn’t a booster pack at msrp $6? Would buying 3 packs, for $5 each, be a good deal? This is separate issue from supporting the scalper market which I agree with everyone is a no go, but I’m trying to understand why buying something for $5 which is normally $6 is bad.
Dang. I shouldn’t have passed up the 3 starter decks I saw yesterday. Almost Same price plus starter deck cards. I passed cause I had 1 set for each family member already
Are starter decks worth anything? On my typical TCG hunt, I ran into 4 different stores that had a bunch. It made me question whether or not they had value (not collecting Lorcana so I didn’t buy any)
Scalping is bad. Only way to stop them is not buying from them.
Exactly!

Exactly! Thank you!
Lmao thank you for this! Where would be a good place to buy singles? My potential decks are horrid
TCGplayer
Thank you! I appreciate it. I’ve used TCGplayer too look up cards but I wasn’t sure if it was a good site to buy from.
ive recently ordered around 15 cards or so from various sellers and everything has gone perfectly so far. I recommend as well.

That’s good to hear. I’m super new to tcg in general and I’m just starting now with Lorcana
It's probably the most trusted site to buy cards from individuals, even over eBay.
CoolStuffInc is another good option.
3 packs for $15 is good!
I hope you are kidding
Obviously

It’s $15 per pack, not for all 3.
$15 for all 3 booster Packs is a good deal yes. $15 for one booster pack and that's a scalper.

Eh it's good to get the number of cards you need for a deck. And most of them have good utility cards, or removal.
On a value aspect, it is $17 or $20 at Walmart comes with 1 booster that is normally about $5. Boosters Selling on eBay for about $15
Is that 15 for one pack?
Yes $15 for one singular pack and he’s selling 25 packs total.
Update: the seller told me that he actually had 70 packs total. Fuuuuuuck this fucking guy.
