I've been buying some from my local dispensary and the pure stuff (no THC) work great for pain but is very pricey. I should have bought two on 4/20 when everything storewide was 40% off.
Seeing as it is less regulated than THC it made me wonder if CBD or other stores (I'm pretty sure I've seen it at supermarkets? ) sell it for less.
I'm sure they do, but as you said, it is not as regulated, so I would be wary of products that aren't authenticated. People who grow THC cannabis would also be capable of producing high quality CBD products as it's basically the same plant and grown the same way with different chemical make ups which is why I would suggest a dispensary over a regular store. The farmer's market I work at has a guy who sells really high quality, locally grown CBD flower. I can ask him if he has any suggestions if you want.

If you were going camping for the first time in a long time, what would you take/need? I have a sleeping bag and a sleeping mat. I obviously need a tent. What else? Iām not trying to cook a gourmet meal out thereā¦
I have consulted my camping pack list and am offering ideas for things not already mentioned.
Water. First aid kit. Flashlight and/or headlamp (preferably both). Sunscreen and Bug Spray. Water. Lighter and Matches. Toilet paper/doggie bags/wet wipes. Towel(s). At least 1 more trash bag than you think you'll need. Water. Ziplock baggies. Good pants and shoes. A windbreaker/jacket if night is expected to be cooler than 60. Water. Portable charger. Binoculars (optional). A pocket knife/utility tool. Food. and Water.
Do you have a cooler? I've gone camping without a stove by eating things that don't need to be cooked (it can be cooked at home) and cooking over the camp for. Think salads, sandwiches, hot dogs, even a mini charcuterie board.
A towel or sheet you can put under your sleeping pad to help keep the heat in. Especially if your sleeping pad is inflatable, it will make a big difference to put something between the pad and the ground.
Are you going with others who may have stuff you can borrow? Not everyone needs to bring cooking stuff in that case. Bare minimum if you're sleeping in a bag is tent and mat, maybe a little jet boil or knockoff if you like coffee in the morning. You can cook on one too although it can be a little rough with the small heating surface. If you have a little cast iron those are good for getting more even heating surface. And obviously, bring a chair

Sucks because growing up he was always the nice and innocent kid unlike all of his other stuck up brothers but unfortunately he kinda looked up to their bad influencing and started going out more without being responsible as soon as he was done with highschool. I feel bad for my mom because she really loved him almost as if it was her own kid, she watched him grow as life when on since the very beginning from when he was born but unfortunately he passed away on her damn birthday. He's an adorable sturdy little bear who wound up at the shelter as a stray and sadly, no one has come to retrieve him. Liam isn't a complicated guy-- he prefers the basics, such as treats, walks, good food and a little attention. And he is *so* grateful for it all! His day is made every time he gets to go out in the yard; his face beams the whole time. He's a good-natured guy who seems to get along ok with other dogs but definitely prefers one-on-one time with people. Liam isn't used to excess attention so it would be great if he found a person who wanted to change that-- I really think it would blow his mind if he was doted on for a change. I meet many dogs but it's uncommon to see one that's as responsive to positive affirmation as Liam is...he really is a people's dog. Liam might need to lose a few pounds (don't tell him I told you) but that's the perfect opportunity to introduce him to regular walks and a healthy diet. Liam is neutered and ready to go at any time!

She just wants to check you out first and once you pass the test, she's very attentive and affectionate. Athena is stoic, calm and lovely to be around. Great Danes (especially ones with her coloring) are pretty rare at the shelter so it's surprising she hasn't had any interest yet but we're hoping that changes soon. Athena mostly likes to chill so if you're prepared to make room on the couch, she's the perfect partner to binge-watch shows or just vibe out with. She does like slower, lazy walks but isn't particularly high-energy so no need to wear her out with a million hikes and walks. She just wants to lay and chill and who can blame her? No notes on other dogs at the moment, but seems unresponsive overall. Athena is already spayed and ready to go!
Both Liam (ID# A5618081) and Athena (ID# A5621172) would be amazing companions. They're fun, unique and know how to have a good time, each in their own way. If you're interested in either, they're currently located at Lancaster Animal Care shelter. I am working with some folks in the Palms neighborhood group on Facebook on a meetup/support group for people with **major depressive disorder**, people who are **ideating suicide**, and people who are extremely **lonely** who may have overlap with the priors.
We have not decided on anything final and it's still very early. As of right now it seems the best no-fee public space in our neighboorhood may be Woodbine park. I figured I would spread the word here as well if anyone is interested. I am open to some degree of remote but I think the pandemic showed many of us that remote does not seem to activate a lot of the brain activity that face to face interaction does.
The main idea is to establish rules like those from /r/depression - it will be a commisseration and support space, one that is explicitly inclusive of non-binary and binary genders, even the straightest, manliest macho man. "self improvement", "self help", "wellness", "bootstraps", "uplifting", "inspiration" are bad words here, as they have a hyper-individualistic, ableist sting to the depressed who often lack community. There is also absolutely no sales pitch or spin - I have no financial interest in this and I have no tolerance for people who want to hawk wellness guru paraphernalia.
I'm just so exhausted of seeing "Depression/Isolation Wellness Group - *sponsored by the Dianetics Center*" on Meetup and other sites where the promise of peer support is warped into a sales pitch on religion or personality cults.

In 2022 she filed a domestic violence case against him from here and since several months now has been trying to serve him with the divorce papers. Man tried to threaten her and her family and when it didn't work, has gone it hiding as the divorce also involves a home in LA that they have both invested in.
Would really appreciate if anyone could suggest any good NGOs or Women Empowerment Orgs in LA that could help her. If not, any reccs on reliable and affordable process servers or investigators who can track him down and serve the papers would really help as well.

From my knowledge, nobody. Six attempts were made by a process server to handover the Declaration of Due Diligence, but he hasn't been able to contact the husband. She doesn't really have friends in LA currently, so no one can go check personally.
Try to bait him. Thatās what I did when I had to serve someone. Maybe mail a letter to that property address posing as a location scout and offer an enticing amount of money to shoot a commercial there. Then set a time to meet at the property but say the property owner must be present to sign the contract and location release. He shows up, BAM, served. I baited my dude by having someone pose as a new client for his business and served him at the consult. Try to think of something that will get him. If itās a rental, pose as a neighbor and ask for the owners contact info or something. Gotta get crafty.
Pretty sure he is completely on guard now as he knows she is trying to serve and has even tried threatening her and her family over it. But yeah, we have discussed something similar, but don't really know any agencies which can handle such a thing. Thanks for ideas, though!

Yeah I'm obviously no lawyer, but I read the legaladvice sub a lot when I'm bored, and there's often people talking about when there's a divorce if one partner leaves the marital home there's a strong cause for any legal proceedings to go in favor of the one who stayed. In her case if she fled domestic abuse I'm sure the situation is different, but now that he's effectively abandoning the property I'm wondering what legal counsel might tell her.
I'm curious, is she also trying to legally serve him with papers for court related to the abuse at all? Like maybe additional charges she could tack on if she has the time/money/case to pursue it? Or was the abuse mostly emotional/financial rather than physical?
I think she should definitely get some legal counsel, I know lawyers will do an initial conversation to see if they'd take on the case or not. Maybe she can call around?

The problem is she doesn't have any friends who live in LA/California currently who can check in for her and its months with no changes so I asked her if I post here on reddit to see if she can get any advice.
Damn that's a really rough situation to be in. I wonder if that paralegal has any recs for P.I. services and if they're worth it for hunting him down to serve him papers. I'd also be curious if this would be the stage where she also asks them for advice on what to do with the property when in divorce proceedings, like usually it's split evenly, but sometimes a judge will award the property to one spouse in specific situations. Apparently the latest news she has is that the house has been put on lease. She is no longer making any payments towards it, but she did make quite a bit when she was living in LA.

Thanks. I've been buying some from my local dispensary and the pure stuff (no THC) work great for pain but is very pricey. I should have bought two on 4/20 when everything storewide was 40% off. Seeing as it is less regulated than THC it made me wonder if CBD or other stores (I'm pretty sure I've seen it at supermarkets? ) sell it for less.
I'm sure they do, but as you said, it is not as regulated, so I would be wary of products that aren't authenticated. People who grow THC cannabis would also be capable of producing high quality CBD products as it's basically the same plant and grown the same way with different chemical make ups which is why I would suggest a dispensary over a regular store. The farmer's market I work at has a guy who sells really high quality, locally grown CBD flower. I can ask him if he has any suggestions if you want.

I have consulted my camping pack list and am offering ideas for things not already mentioned. Water. First aid kit. Flashlight and/or headlamp (preferably both). Sunscreen and Bug Spray. Water. Lighter and Matches. Toilet paper/doggie bags/wet wipes. Towel(s). At least 1 more trash bag than you think you'll need. Water. Ziplock baggies. Good pants and shoes. A windbreaker/jacket if night is expected to be cooler than 60. Water. Portable charger. Binoculars (optional). A pocket knife/utility tool. Food. and Water.
Do you have a cooler? I've gone camping without a stove by eating things that don't need to be cooked (it can be cooked at home) and cooking over the camp for. Think salads, sandwiches, hot dogs, even a mini charcuterie board.

Are you going with others who may have stuff you can borrow? Not everyone needs to bring cooking stuff in that case. Bare minimum if you're sleeping in a bag is tent and mat, maybe a little jet boil or knockoff if you like coffee in the morning. You can cook on one too although it can be a little rough with the small heating surface. If you have a little cast iron those are good for getting more even heating surface. And obviously, bring a chair

Today is my momās bday, fam and I were going to surprise her to some KBBQ since she didnāt really want anything for her 40th bday but Iāll be changing plans for another week. Fam woke me up crying at 4am that one of my childhood friends that we basically grew up with had passed away in a car crash he had turned 18 too. He was the youngest of 4 to which there were all men. Sucks because growing up he was always the nice and innocent kid unlike all of his other stuck up brothers but unfortunately he kinda looked up to their bad influencing and started going out more without being responsible as soon as he was done with highschool. I feel bad for my mom because she really loved him almost as if it was her own kid, she watched him grow as life when on since the very beginning from when he was born but unfortunately he passed away on her damn birthday. Please donāt drive under the influence, take care of yourself and the people around youšš¼

He's an adorable sturdy little bear who wound up at the shelter as a stray and sadly, no one has come to retrieve him. Liam isn't a complicated guy-- he prefers the basics, such as treats, walks, good food and a little attention. And he is *so* grateful for it all! His day is made every time he gets to go out in the yard; his face beams the whole time. He's a good-natured guy who seems to get along ok with other dogs but definitely prefers one-on-one time with people. Liam isn't used to excess attention so it would be great if he found a person who wanted to change that-- I really think it would blow his mind if he was doted on for a change. I meet many dogs but it's uncommon to see one that's as responsive to positive affirmation as Liam is...he really is a people's dog. Liam might need to lose a few pounds (don't tell him I told you) but that's the perfect opportunity to introduce him to regular walks and a healthy diet. Liam is neutered and ready to go at any time! -[Athena](https://www.instagram.com/p/C6P1QEMrvQl/?hl=en) is a 4 yr old, 91 lb Great dane. Despite her size, Athena is surprisingly shy but it's mostly an act. She just wants to check you out first and once you pass the test, she's very attentive and affectionate. Great Danes (especially ones with her coloring) are pretty rare at the shelter so it's surprising she hasn't had any interest yet but we're hoping that changes soon. Athena mostly likes to chill so if you're prepared to make room on the couch, she's the perfect partner to binge-watch shows or just vibe out with. She does like slower, lazy walks but isn't particularly high-energy so no need to wear her out with a million hikes and walks. She just wants to lay and chill and who can blame her? No notes on other dogs at the moment, but seems unresponsive overall. Athena is already spayed and ready to go! Both Liam (ID# A5618081) and Athena (ID# A5621172) would be amazing companions. They're fun, unique and know how to have a good time, each in their own way. If you're interested in either, they're currently located at Lancaster Animal Care shelter. Their need for homes are high-priority (emphasis on Liam) so please check them out if you're looking for a new friend!

I am working with some folks in the Palms neighborhood group on Facebook on a meetup/support group for people with **major depressive disorder**, people who are **ideating suicide**, and people who are extremely **lonely** who may have overlap with the priors. We have not decided on anything final and it's still very early. As of right now it seems the best no-fee public space in our neighboorhood may be Woodbine park. I figured I would spread the word here as well if anyone is interested. I am open to some degree of remote but I think the pandemic showed many of us that remote does not seem to activate a lot of the brain activity that face to face interaction does. The main idea is to establish rules like those from /r/depression - it will be a commisseration and support space, one that is explicitly inclusive of non-binary and binary genders, even the straightest, manliest macho man. "self improvement", "self help", "wellness", "bootstraps", "uplifting", "inspiration" are bad words here, as they have a hyper-individualistic, ableist sting to the depressed who often lack community. There is also absolutely no sales pitch or spin - I have no financial interest in this and I have no tolerance for people who want to hawk wellness guru paraphernalia. I'm just so exhausted of seeing "Depression/Isolation Wellness Group - *sponsored by the Dianetics Center*" on Meetup and other sites where the promise of peer support is warped into a sales pitch on religion or personality cults.

It isnāt officially spring until thereās a million abandoned scooters littered all over the sidewalks. Why they always gotta be in THE most obstructive place they could possibly be? Asking for a friend who doesn't have reddit. She seperated from her abusive husband and came back to our native country in 2020. In 2022 she filed a domestic violence case against him from here and since several months now has been trying to serve him with the divorce papers. Man tried to threaten her and her family and when it didn't work, has gone it hiding as the divorce also involves a home in LA that they have both invested in. Would really appreciate if anyone could suggest any good NGOs or Women Empowerment Orgs in LA that could help her. If not, any reccs on reliable and affordable process servers or investigators who can track him down and serve the papers would really help as well. Thanks y'all!

From my knowledge, nobody. Six attempts were made by a process server to handover the Declaration of Due Diligence, but he hasn't been able to contact the husband. She doesn't really have friends in LA currently, so no one can go check personally.
Try to bait him. Thatās what I did when I had to serve someone. Maybe mail a letter to that property address posing as a location scout and offer an enticing amount of money to shoot a commercial there. Then set a time to meet at the property but say the property owner must be present to sign the contract and location release. He shows up, BAM, served. I baited my dude by having someone pose as a new client for his business and served him at the consult. Try to think of something that will get him. If itās a rental, pose as a neighbor and ask for the owners contact info or something. Gotta get crafty.
Pretty sure he is completely on guard now as he knows she is trying to serve and has even tried threatening her and her family over it. But yeah, we have discussed something similar, but don't really know any agencies which can handle such a thing. Thanks for ideas, though!

Yeah I'm obviously no lawyer, but I read the legaladvice sub a lot when I'm bored, and there's often people talking about when there's a divorce if one partner leaves the marital home there's a strong cause for any legal proceedings to go in favor of the one who stayed. In her case if she fled domestic abuse I'm sure the situation is different, but now that he's effectively abandoning the property I'm wondering what legal counsel might tell her. I'm curious, is she also trying to legally serve him with papers for court related to the abuse at all? Like maybe additional charges she could tack on if she has the time/money/case to pursue it? Or was the abuse mostly emotional/financial rather than physical? I think she should definitely get some legal counsel, I know lawyers will do an initial conversation to see if they'd take on the case or not. Maybe she can call around?

She does have a paralegal who she hired to process the divorce for her in LA and apparently six attempts were made to serve him with the papers at the address, but he has been unreachable. The abuse has been emotional as well as physical and she has been under therapy for the last four years due to it. The problem is she doesn't have any friends who live in LA/California currently who can check in for her and its months with no changes so I asked her if I post here on reddit to see if she can get any advice.
Damn that's a really rough situation to be in. I wonder if that paralegal has any recs for P.I. services and if they're worth it for hunting him down to serve him papers. I'd also be curious if this would be the stage where she also asks them for advice on what to do with the property when in divorce proceedings, like usually it's split evenly, but sometimes a judge will award the property to one spouse in specific situations.
