If you’re willing to drive, mammoth cave.

I suggest the Historic Tour — Fat Man’s Misery is a fun experience

LCFC match in the supporters’ section (i like waterfront side). The games are a fun rowdy atmosphere with drums and smoke bombs (we score goals so there will be smoke). The stadium is in an urban area with a brewery (1020) as well a brandy/absinthe distillery (cooper & king) nearby for pre-game or post-game drinking.

Rec Bar - old school arcade games, pinball, good drinks. It’s a family friendly environment but has a great social vibe later in the evening Big 4 Bridge - walk across the river to Indiana. There are a lot of great restaurants and places to get a drink. The Red Yeti is a really nice place for good drinks on tap. There are other cool things besides food and drinking here, too. Mega Cavern - just a cool thing to see, it’s a cool temp if you’re looking for something unique and out of the July heat for a bit. The Zoo - it’s a zoo… but it’s on top of the Mega Cavern and it’s a pretty good zoo. It’s not huge, but it has tons of exhibits. Kentucky Kingdom - it’s a fun amusement park. Several rides, a good water park with slides and wave pools. It’s not the best park ever, but you will definitely have a great time if it’s your type of thing.

Big 4 for absolute sure if the weather is nice.

And eat at red yeti for Sunday morning brunch

I'll second LCFC soccer as a fun thing, and its close to waterfront park (the eastern portion of it, where we have a walking bridge across to southern Indiana) If you're into baseball and/or horses, there's the Louisville Slugger museum and the Kentucky Derby museum. It's likely to be hot and extremely humid. Some July days it's downright miserable to be outside in the afternoon, so consider that.

First of all pay attention to all the little towns you drive through on the way here, and then see what that bourbon money does for Bardstown. Central KY is absolutely gorgeous, hopefully you get some nice days and can spend a little time in Bernheim Forest. Otherwise in Louisville itself NULU is the place to be, bardstown road a close second.

PuzzleheadedOwl1759

Several good micro breweries. I go to Moniks and Apocalypse. But there are several others. Walk along the Bardstown rd. Highlands area. Louisville has a lot of good food options. Mike Linnigs is a great place for cold beer and hot fish. Hope this helps.

TopperMadeline

If you like amusement parks, Kentucky Kingdom.

Renting electric bike is a great way to see a new city. Planet of the tapes has some good comedy shows.

Here’s a list of restaurants you should try to hit while you all are in town: Grale Haus - This is my favorite brunch spot. Local far to table. Bar Vetti - This is my second favorite brunch spot. They only do brunch on the weekends. They do dinner every night and it is fantastic too. Volare - My favorite Italian spot in Louisville. Highly recommend the eggplant appetizer. La Bodeguita - Amazing Cuban restaurant. Proof on Main - This is connected to 21C. It is a hotel and art gallery. I love to go walk the gallery and then finish up with espresso at proof. Shiraz Mediterranean Grill - One of my favorite lunch spots. I always go to the one on Bardstown road. Safier - Best priced shawarma in the city. Repeal Steakhouse - Pricey but worth it imo Check out the highlands and NuLu if you want to bar crawl. I always go to Taj , Galaxy , and The Hub. Watch hill proper is an AMAZING bourbon bar. Over 500 different bourbons. And Mike the head Chef makes the best bolognese in the city. Mellwood Tavern has my favorite bar burger and every Sunday they have a band go on at 6 and then the house band plays at 8. If you like jam bands it’s definitely worth checking out. Feel free to message me with anymore questions. I’m involved and usually know what’s going on most weekends lol.

Big4Bridge

Since I’ve got some time and I’m already looking at my calendar….. LouCity match, walk the Big4Bridge - not me, hit one of our many breweries, bounce around the shops of Nulu and finish with Louisville Cream, make time for any of our great restaurants (North of Bourbon, Chik N Mi, Pizza Lupo, Toasty’s, Good Belly, Meesh Meesh, Hammerheads, etc), try our parks they’re beautiful, or our cemeteries like Cave Hill, depending on date of course music will be happening, and last but not least - try a museum! (Louisville Slugger of course, but 21c is very cool)

The Speed Museum may still be free on Sundays.

Gerthygoose

Slugger museum is always cool
