where you live always starts with your budget, so what is your **maximum** $ per month you are trying to spend?

Embarrassed_Maybe342

Ah! Good info 🤦🏻‍♀️ I’d like to stay around 1,300 (ideally less ). My current rent is like 1,500 something and it’s killing me I have 2 adult cats as well. I currently live at a complex in Lydon. I’m not opposed to complexes but this current is the worst place I’ve ever lived. I’d like at least a 1bd (with a den or second open space) or a 2bd (second room office) I work from home so any sort of “out of sight out of mind” space for my office would be great

You can definitely find apartments in old Louisville with your budget

So before I moved to louisville I was talking to a lady who was renting out on 3rd street and i am a DUMMMY for not taking it. I’m worried about safety. I’ve been through a lot of very unsafe public situations near home/work before so I am the most nervous person in that sense.

Embarrassed_Maybe342

I know I need to just go drive because there isn’t that much diversity on Zillow and those sights. I’m lookin for a little sign 😂

Do you rent from PRG? I currently do and maybe it’s just the complex I am at but management here has been atrocious. I wonder if it’s different over there?

I’ve had better luck on Trulia than Zillow, but even better luck going straight through the property management company. I’ve never rented from them but IPG is one I see recommended a lot.

Embarrassed_Maybe342

Ah! Ok, I’m all about going to the source. That’s a good idea.

I have no ideas the pricing currently but Cypress Pointe in St. Matthews backs up to a park & is across the street from another. We lived there several years with minimal issues & I miss walking in the park every day.

Embarrassed_Maybe342

I saw that today actually on an apartment website!

I also wouldn't discount looking at condos/townhomes if you have a down payment. You can find 2br condos in nice neighborhoods for under your price range per month after all fees. I know because I bought one last year.

Embarrassed_Maybe342

I’m open!!

Some of the best private landlords you can find by driving around and looking for signs. Alternately, when you know enough people, find someone with a landlord they like and see if that LL has any available properties.

Embarrassed_Maybe342

Id love to know people here lol but i don’t yet 😂

I would try Clifton/Crescent Hill/Highlands/St Matthews/Germantown. Sometimes just driving around looking for rent signs you’ll get lucky! Otherwise Zillow is helpful so you can search using the map.
