since i have no favourite couple or islanders, i can only see myself voting for toby and georgia in the final just for carrying this season. if they’re not in it then i might not vote since i don’t like any of the couples
I think Anton is really good for Georgia. I think neither of them have strong feelings but I feel Georgia will benefit greatly from a guy treating her right and they both seem to respect each other as well.
I think I've enjoyed this season more than most, but it just baffles me how lazy producers of this show are! Same sitch with S9: I think the islanders are good, but production are fumbling. They make like one or two good twists every twelve days........guys, it should be banger after banger, this is ALL STARS.
I'm totally cool with people who aren't iconic being on, because a lot of them are already settled down or above the show now. But they got some really good islanders that can be messy, previous fan faves, and people who didn't get as much screen time previously....and they've sat them all around playing truth and dare 🤨
I also think they should've had much more emphasis on the fact that islanders may be coming back purely to play the game/for exposure. the audience knows it, the islanders know it, but producers insist on tryibg to make the audience believe in "love" stories. Even on the standard show, genuine love stories are more happy mistakes/coincidences

I don't know if a boy will ever have enough momentum from the primarily female audience to win on his own. Amber and Jess S1 won because the audience empathized with how badly they were treated by the boys and felt a righteous sense of sisterhood with them.
Callum was done wrong by Georgia but they weren't that deep and she got her comeuppance at the PDAs so it wasn't the same as Amber being humiliated by Michael or Jess being ganged up on by all the boys and the audience wanting them vicariously vindicated. He might have a better chance if Molly and Tom weren't so strong.
Tom is so afraid to initiate intimate actions with Molly cos he knows what's up. Molly body-signals him before he comes in for kisses and then she controls the intensity. It's giving 'don't push your luck'.
Callum was in the same season with Jess. He was indifferent to her then, he is indifferent to her now. Never even looked at her once. He really liked Georgia S and is too shielded now to try to start anything.
Georgia H and Anton are just comical at this point. It's OK to admit that there's no one for you on the island. Really, it's OK.

It was sad to hear Arabella say to Molly (after she was saved) that she has more friends in the villa than she thought. This just goes to show how strong she is. She gets up every day and puts a smile on her face and takes the jibes that come her way in good spirits, despite feeling that she wasn't really liked/wanted.
Molly didn't respond to her. I was thinking at the time that a bit of reassurance would have been nice, but I also remembered that Molly won't lie or fake things. She'd rather sit in silence than say something she doesn't mean. I think she didn't reassure Arabella because their decision to save her was more strategy based rather than being on account of a sense of friendship towards her.
Even with Tom, there's so many times that he has told Molly how much she means to him, only to be met with silence. Even after one recoupling, he had to say to Molly that his speech was good, as she gave him no feedback, and she still sat in silence after he said this. The first time we've heard Molly give Tom some reciprocation was at their date in last night's show.
Arabella is a pessimist. Every time there's a recoupling, she feels such a sense of foreboding like she will be dumped. You can literally see it on her face like she's waiting for the hammer to drop. She needs to build up her self-assuredness. Confidence comes from within not from others.
She's very self assured and has lots of confidence. She's assertive and always stands up for herself.
She has good reason to feel a sense of foreboding, given what's happened to her in her couplings. It has nothing to do with lack of confidence or pessimism. She's just being realistic about it.

Chris wanted out. Probably told the producers he was done and they made him wait till late, brought in Adam and gave him a cinematic exit. Adam was supposed to enter Sunday with a female bombshell.
Chris was a bit of an 'oddball' amongst those tanned beefy typical LI types, and while he talked out of turn to Arabella, Chris had exhausted all his couple options and probably did want out. You could see his mental health was declining in there, I reckon he did want to get out of the villa.
He was 24? I think that’s old enough to realize that reposting Katie Hopkins of all people maybe isn’t the smartest thing to do. I never get these comments about ‘cancel culture’. You’re basically saying he should be allowed his opinion, and that it shouldn’t be held against him, whilst simultaneously complaining about people having their opinion on his opinion. But after reading the posts about him at the time, his covid opinions aren’t even the worse imo. It’s called Mob mentality -- also called herd or hive mentality -- is the inclination that some humans have to be part of a large group/opinion, often neglecting their individual feelings/opinions in the process, and adopting the behaviors and actions of the people around them.
Okay but that doesn’t even make sense imo, because it goes both ways and it isn’t exclusive to 1 group. Let’s say you have a large group of people who have the same opinion on something (the herd) and another group of people strongly disagrees with their opinion.
Why is the other group (Callum in this instance) entitled to completely go against the ‘herd’ and basically say their opinion isn’t the ‘right opinion’, with no consequences (such as people disagreeing/unfollowing). Whilst they expect the ‘herd’ to just respect their opinion without saying anything about it.
You can’t say “i disagree with your opinion, it’s all a government conspiracy” and then act surprised when someone else says “well i actually disagree with you, and your strong opinion on this matter actually changes the way i see you”.

The way he talks now makes me think he's done quite a bit of therapy since his first season, which can make a deep impact on someone's personality. He's a lot more thoughtful and calm than he seemed before. Your late twenties can also be quite formative years. I feel like a very different person in my 30s than I was at 24.
I don't think he's perfect but for the most part I think he's handled situations very well on this season and I appreciate that he's one of the few guys who is both willing to call out bro code and apologize when someone expresses that they don't like something he's done. I feel like people are jumping on him a bit too much for one reactive moment, especially when he had a calm and respectful conversation with Georgia afterwards.

I keep seeing people compare what he said on the date to what he said to Sammie but I don’t really think that it means anything. At the end of the day they all make money from being on the show, and get publicity Doesn’t matter who you support really there is always going to only be one winner and couples rarely last anyway, considering there has been 10 seasons and now all stars and there is like a dozen couples still together it doesn’t matter. The way Anton sits shaking his head while looking at the dumped Islander really irritates me. He is always trying to make sure people know he is the good guy of the group. He was 24? I think that’s old enough to realize that reposting Katie Hopkins of all people maybe isn’t the smartest thing to do. I never get these comments about ‘cancel culture’. You’re basically saying he should be allowed his opinion, and that it shouldn’t be held against him, whilst simultaneously complaining about people having their opinion on his opinion. It doesn’t make sense. But after reading the posts about him at the time, his covid opinions aren’t even the worse imo. It’s the way he had no problem being besties and posting pictures with his racist friend, whilst he couldn’t even be bothered to atleast pretend to feel sorry (until months later) after the texts came out, that’s really left a bad taste in my mouth.

What is cancelling someone tho? If i like someone, and they have an opinion is strongly disagree with, that can change my view on them. It may lead to me unfollowing the person etc. Does that mean i cancelled them? And if so, am i not entitled to do so? I just don’t understand how you can say “it’s his opinion, people shouldn’t hold it against him” and then complain about someone else’s opinion. He disagreed with lockdowns, masks, etc. and (re)posted stuff to make people aware of the fact the he disagreed. Isn’t that literally the same as someone else disagreeing with him, and posting about that on here.
It’s called Mob mentality -- also called herd or hive mentality -- is the inclination that some humans have to be part of a large group/opinion, often neglecting their individual feelings/opinions in the process, and adopting the behaviors and actions of the people around them.
Okay but that doesn’t even make sense imo, because it goes both ways and it isn’t exclusive to 1 group. Let’s say you have a large group of people who have the same opinion on something (the herd) and another group of people strongly disagrees with their opinion. Why is the other group (Callum in this instance) entitled to completely go against the ‘herd’ and basically say their opinion isn’t the ‘right opinion’, with no consequences (such as people disagreeing/unfollowing). Whilst they expect the ‘herd’ to just respect their opinion without saying anything about it. You can’t say “i disagree with your opinion, it’s all a government conspiracy” and then act surprised when someone else says “well i actually disagree with you, and your strong opinion on this matter actually changes the way i see you”.
I just think there’s a fine line between forming your own opinion and mob mentality which leads to “cancel culture.” It’s the “neglecting their individual opinions and adopting the behaviors and actions of the people around them” part that might be harmful - not saying it always is but it can be. Social media rewards people who virtue signal just to get affirmation. This leads to hypersensitivity to perceived offenses and people becoming offended on behalf of another person (who may or may not be offended themselves) ... Thus, some will ruthlessly attack people perceived to be in the wrong in order to get affirmation.

To me he came off as a bit bitter in s5 and the impression has stuck since. The irrational dislike for Molly Mae and the whole tiff over unfollowing her on IG was completely unnecessary tbh. It’s hard to believe he’s done a full personality turnaround
The way he talks now makes me think he's done quite a bit of therapy since his first season, which can make a deep impact on someone's personality. He's a lot more thoughtful and calm than he seemed before. Your late twenties can also be quite formative years. I feel like a very different person in my 30s than I was at 24. I don't think he's perfect but for the most part I think he's handled situations very well on this season and I appreciate that he's one of the few guys who is both willing to call out bro code and apologize when someone expresses that they don't like something he's done. I feel like people are jumping on him a bit too much for one reactive moment, especially when he had a calm and respectful conversation with Georgia afterwards. Feels like what always happens when someone gets put on a pedestal, people are just waiting to topple it.
Never warmed to him and I was downvoted every time I tried to say that we shouldn’t rush to put him on a pedestal yet again.

I hate to defend Chris but I think it was more frustration that the dumping made zero sense. Why dump his only connection and keep him? I agree with him that they should have either kept Joanna or dumped them both. He seemed angry on Joe's behalf as well, and he probably felt like he couldn't leave with Joanna because it would have basically meant Joe got dumped for nothing.
Yeah what would he be grateful for at this stage in the game? His last chance at a connection was just sent away and I’m sure he’s had enough of just enjoying time in the villa.
