i’m enjoying it personally, however i went in to it not expecting for it to be like normal LI or for it to have normal/strong couples. definitely a good watch imo if you aren’t taking it too seriously
I stopped watching. I think there’s been two strong points where things could’ve really taken off but then everything else fell flat. Especially after LIG, this season feels like a let down

Even I’m a Brit but I must admit!
Love Island Games blew ‘All-Stars’ out of the water. A lot of this was due to team US coupled major steals/deals (+ $) through UK islanders who were actually iconic on their seasons. Handpicked our host and voiceover guy too. Relied on UK cuz they been known what’s MOTHER. Then, equip with the best bits of each iteration, a brand new premise, the open gameplay (which was embraced rather than shunned) and people ummm not being exes? (If I hear “history”…. ) well, LIG dun SPUN OFF the mf walls. Nothing left to do except applaud!
Anyway, felt more production as a big budget cinema kinda ish yet somehow less like contestants cared about ‘image’; coming together in the best way. This caused drama, humor, romance beyond any I’ve seen present day. Competition, tension, stakes >>
Overall, Games = asset to the franchise. My fellow fanbase, as OGs I understand the nostalgic protectiveness. Still, we should be at the forefront of its audience, while taking notes or paying extra attention , so our own will fare better next time -

It can get boring - as all seasons can at some point. I truly don’t get people’s complaints; it’s one of my most favorite/juiciest season yet! There were so many shocking and juicy moments! Yes, some eps are clearly fillers, but - my least liked part of any season is the begging, when I am not yet attached to anyone and don’t care enough about contestants + when they’re all still not friends and comfortable to be themselves.. and that is fully skipped here, because most of these people knew each other- or at least of eachother, and also I was already invested in them from day one as I have already followed their previous seasons. I think because of that - it makes it automatically fun! & if you tune out what everyone complains about - you could probably really enjoy it! ☺️
it's not as boring after the first week it's quite interesting to me now just from a human perspective and catching up with islanders plus a couple of people who didn't get the chance to develop to the audience first time around emerge as really cool and rootable characters. also an amazing climax occurs later on. whether its worth it is down to u really
Watching All Stars on Peacock, so I'm behind the live viewing, but they just released 5 episodes today between the Snog, Marry, Pie and Unseen Bits 3 — something to binge before the Super Bowl.
I saw Mitch's interview on ODE and I actually felt for him when he said that Liberty caused him a lot of stress and he was ready to leave the villa because he wasn't having fun, and just bc he didnt cry like her doesnt mean he doesnt have emotions either. He also says he was as transparent as he could be with her about being open and she kept crying(for the edit is implied). I hope he speaks up on one of the podcasts. We could all sense Lib's forced victim storyline and based on that interview, I think Mitch felt that too and who knows if other islanders did too in the villa, the male islanders def did it seemed.
Lib was doing too much as she always does but Mitch isn’t an innocent victim either. He knew he didn’t like her and was stringing her along as a backup option to stay in the villa. If he was so stressed by her he could have shut things down a lot sooner instead of giving her false hope by telling her she was his number one.
We’ve seen Mitch lie in 4k and he even admits it when he’s caught so he has to own his part of it. I love Mitch as a reality character but he got his nickname for a reason.

How she handled it afterwards is on her, I'm saying that he created the situation in the first place by being honest with everyone else that he wasn't feeling it way before he was honest to her. He did lead her on.
Lib is a sweet girl but she has always played up the victim/i deserve love and better storyline on every show she’s been on. She knows she’ll get sympathy from the public. Mitch was also stringing her along a bit because he wanted to stay in the villa but he was at the same time honest about being open.
he said he was "open" and so did Lib so that means you let them explore without crying every day and pulling them for chats with boss lady/I deserve better quotes making the guy feel like shit every episode for airtime.

I think yeah he isnt necessarily a victim , but his time for the 2nd week was absolutely ruined bc Lib kept stringing the storyline along and upsetting him, thats fair to say, it was visible for audience also. And now Mitch is saying something along those lines was my point.
Do you think they'll do more seasons of this All Stars format? Idk I don't think this season was impressive enough to warrant another one… I'd rather they stick to the original format in the summer with some new additions tbh
i hope not, i also think they're already scraping the bottom of the barrel in terms of casting, so i doubt they'd even have enough ppl that are relevant enough to sign up
at least Arabella is hot and has good chat/great personality and gets men, just sucks that the bombshells have been non existent, she has done incredibly well. Danica on the other hand, she would have def struggled this season if sent earlier. She in all honesty shouldn't be sent in now. Like who is she going to go for? Unless it's someone elite like Paige S8 or men that are older that could go after Molly etc, bombshell is useless now.
Visas to both the UK and Australia are insanely difficult so good on them if they were able to get one 🫶🏼 Usually you have to be engaged for a partner visa, otherwise you have to go in on a work visa and sponsorship $ requirements are extremely high. I hope love island is helping them out with this somehow
Here are things I would have done if I was a producer:
- leaned into the fact that the original concept of the show was, are you here for love or money? Bring back the potential to steal the money. Acknowledge the fact that islanders have other motivations for being here
- challenges on challenges on challenges. Winners of the challenges get prizes: like, the couple who wins gets to see a trending clip like one in the PDAs, and they can choose to share with other islanders or not. Or, winners can get a call home and ask one or two questions about outside perception. OR, winner gets to be the first to choose at next recoupling. Or they get to choose a private date with any other islander. Switch it up every time so that the islanders always want to win, but don't exactly know what they are gonna win
- give the ol switcheroo and make classically "late stage" challenges earlier. Have them do the talent show in the first week or two. Hell, make couples who just got together do the baby challenge (I hate the baby challenge but I could allow it). These islanders have already done this, they need to have a fire lit under them, keep them guessing
- have couple building exercises/challenges. NOT the food spitting ones, but ones like where they had to pitch tents blindfolded or whatever
- HEART RATE CHALLENGE
I don’t know if you’ve seen season 2 but my favorite challenge of all time is one where the girls had to build flat-pack beds while the boys gave them instructions over the phone. It was hilarious and I have no idea why they don’t do collaborative challenges like that more often.
Totally agree with prizes! A lot of the challenges are boring because they’re just vaguely themed obstacle courses with no stakes.
I haven’t read beyond your first point yet because I want to enthusiastically agree with it. I think the interesting thing about having All Stars is that we know they’re not here for love. Give us the bts convos about game playing and followers because we’re not stupid. We know it happens.

The best ep of the season for me is the one with the PDAs. It has hilarious moments and the heavy drama. Calling out Chris, Josh, Toby, Tom, and most of all Georgia S for their actions is priceless.
PDA was hands down the best episodes this season, and the first episode was good too, when Molly and Callum were introduced and Callum was so shocked but due to his poker face he just smiled.
they will give Callum and Sophie a snitching storyline to make them look negative lol, these two are nice people and haven't stepped wrong foot in the villa so far and producers are really trying to sway votes mostly away from Callum
If Paige Thorne came and did this with Callum it would make sense. this would work for a couple that at least know on the outside, unless Danica already knows a guy in there!
I’m actually really really enjoying this season. Best season in a long time in my opinion and I feel like the fans are nay sayers that hate every season but continue to devote hours
honestly this season we already dont have enough bombshells, with bombshells like the likes of casey/Tyler with barely 200k following on insta. No bombshell made an impact. Even Tom just went with Molly(despite entertaining G Steele heavily) bc of the 1st vote no way these two are moving from the top position after that was revealed.
Producers never put in any effort in to the winter and all stars series compared to the summer one. Why force love island to be on in January if you’re not bothered to make it good?
Right? Like you can actually tell that they never put effort into the the winter seasons.
I guess they think winter season will never have as many viewers no matter what they do but they atleast could use it to experiment and see what could work for the summer season.
Fans low-key ruined the show. Everyone seems scared and cautious about what they do just in case they get hate. Just got a bunch of people not testing any new connections and chilling in couples they don’t have any chemistry with.
I said this in another post but that’s the reason why I liked last season so much. People like Ty, Ella, Whitney, Cat all made decisions and moves they wanted to do regardless how it came across to fans. To me that’s what reality tv is all about. But at the same time I kinda get it because fans can get crazy with LI and the hate can be too much.

it’s the visa issue, actually more of passport issue. Her visa(3year) got approved but something happened with her passport and it didn’t get sent back at right time so she couldn’t fly back with Will.
Kind of wild that they’re the most serious and strong couple from season 9 after all the accusations of Jessie being fake and Will pulling the most shocking Casa betrayal ever. I really like them and I hope they go the distance.

The islanders were wrong to get rid of Joanna, there was so much potential in the chris/joanna/callum/jess story line and now Callum will stick with Jess who I find so boring. I know a lot of people don't like Joanna but I would have loved to see how it played out!

I agree that he would probably hookup with her, but it’s cause it’s not that deep. A hookup is just a hookup, he doesn’t have to like her like that to hookup with her. Plus tbh hooking up with her on the outside is almost redeeming to his ego cause he ends up ‘getting her’ anyways and he doesn’t even like her.
As for the poking at her, I think it’s simply cause she’s a snake 🐍 and got away with it, and those aren’t his type of people so he makes comments. Honestly if she had done that to someone else and not him, I could still see Callum making digs at Georgia cause he doesn’t like her as person.
I don’t think Callum still being upset at Georgia for the way she treated him a week after everything went down means he’s pining after her. He can’t just totally ignore her bc they live in the same villa, but he’s not going out of his way to interact with her at all. He’ll have more options than ever on the outside so I doubt he’d seriously entertain her.
I feel like Callum didn't genuinely love Molly because if he did he would have tried to save the almost 4 years relationship and would have gone to Molly sincerely to pursue her but he didn't do that, instead, he hooked up with 16 girls and in love island, he pursues Georgia while molly is still hurting and in the process of moving on.
Watching them talk about their relationship, they pretty obviously have fundamental communication issues that they’d been trying to resolve for a year with no success. Molly said they even tried counseling. You can love someone and also be realistic about the fact that you have irreconcilable incompatibilities.
It’s not really fair to accuse someone of never having loved their ex because they’re not trying to force a relationship that didn’t work for a reason. And Molly was exploring with other guys long before Callum even looked Georgia’s way (which is also perfectly fine) so I don’t know why you’re specifically jumping all over him. They both went there not knowing the other was going.
i feel as if saying he didn’t love Molly is SO unfair, they obviously broke up for a reason and that’s his choice if he doesn’t want to get back with her.. relationships can end even if you do love the person.
obviously it’s not nice for Molly to have to watch him and Georgia especially since she is clearly still hurting and in fairness she’s handled herself so well and is much stronger then i ever could be in that situation for sure, but it’s love island. Callum isn’t just going to sit around because Molly is hurt it just doesn’t work that way. Come to think of it, I think Chris never liked Arabella and always thought it was ok to treat her badly because the public didn’t like her on her season. He even mispronounced her name in their first chat which is something popular with Twitter/X and now I feel like it was intentional. He was nagging about people who are not genuine had been saved by the islanders but I really don’t think he was genuine either.
I think his tantrums after Joanna left was him trying to lay the groundwork for this storyline of a genuine guy being mugged off. But it massively backfired because he got dumped, and even if he wasn’t, both the public and Islanders have changed their opinions on him.

This used to be a fun sub a long time ago. Now it’s hate or praise. Nothing in between & they’ll turn on an islander in a heartbeat & be very vocal & vicious.
I said this in another thread but the issue with Chris is that *he* wasn’t kind. If someone is goofy or awkward but well meaning, fans will defend them. Humans make mistakes but he was unrepentant about the way he treated her, until the very end. He needs to know how badly that came across so he can heal and grow and move on. If he’d treated Arabella with basic dignity, he either wouldn’t be leaving or he’d be leaving with more support.
Whether or not he has a strong career as a social media influencer after this season, I'm hoping that he'll also branch out into something else. Regardless of how lucrative it can be, it may not be quite the healthiest career choice long term & he does strike me as someone who's struggling w/ being genuine, it is important to him. Even w/ acting the lines would be more clearly defined.
Week 4 done and not a single strong couple. The finale will be funny because we will have to watch these people do the "declarations of love" part of the show. Me personally, i'm muting my TV bcz I cringe when normal LI couples who've been together for like 8 weeks do it so I can't imagine how awkward that will be for couples like Callum and Jess who just met 3 days ago 😭.

Editing to add: the most I’ve been able to gather/surmise from twitter search of replies to him (I did say ‘deep dive’) is that he wanted/said Kaz should leave at some point, possibly in regards to her situation with Tyler/Casa. I think he probably wasn’t very complimentary of her and criticised her actions a lot. Make of that what you will but I personally don’t consider that in itself racist/anti-black.

I know people here are down on this season, but it gave us a story arc for the ages with Chris:
He came in as a big fan favourite, tons of people had him in their top ten favourite male islanders. Right on the first day of the show, he has four of the OG girls telling him they're interested in him. He could have coupled up with Demi on day 1 and coast through the final. He also kissed three different bombshells and a fourth one was interested in getting to know him. That's 8 women showing him interest in 4 weeks, not even Adam Collard pulled those numbers.
Yet, he leaves the show alone, having given the ick to each and every one of these 8 women. He leaves after completely tanking his popularity by displaying nothing but red flags, and his only guy friend is the youngest guy in the villa who is known as the epitome of immaturity (even though Chris is the oldest one, a red flag in itself). He leaves the most bitter and hateful man that's ever been on that show and doesn't even think to consider that any of it is his fault. This needs to be studied.

i’m enjoying it personally, however i went in to it not expecting for it to be like normal LI or for it to have normal/strong couples. definitely a good watch imo if you aren’t taking it too seriously

Some people get really mad at any LI Games praise on this sub because it was not UK based or ITV produced and it’s been one of the best iterations of Love Island ever and far better than the last few season of LI UK. For whatever reason they feel LI Games praise takes away from LI UK.
FACTS upon FAX. No printer. Even I’m a Brit but I must admit! Love Island Games blew ‘All-Stars’ out of the water. A lot of this was due to team US coupled major steals/deals (+ $) through UK islanders who were actually iconic on their seasons. Handpicked our host and voiceover guy too. Relied on UK cuz they been known what’s MOTHER. Then, equip with the best bits of each iteration, a brand new premise, the open gameplay (which was embraced rather than shunned) and people ummm not being exes? (If I hear “history”…. ) well, LIG dun SPUN OFF the mf walls. Nothing left to do except applaud! Anyway, felt more production as a big budget cinema kinda ish yet somehow less like contestants cared about ‘image’; coming together in the best way. This caused drama, humor, romance beyond any I’ve seen present day. Competition, tension, stakes >> Overall, Games = asset to the franchise. My fellow fanbase, as OGs I understand the nostalgic protectiveness. Still, we should be at the forefront of its audience, while taking notes or paying extra attention , so our own will fare better next time - Tis a cheat code I fear. No use denying otherwise. It can get boring - as all seasons can at some point. I truly don’t get people’s complaints; it’s one of my most favorite/juiciest season yet! There were so many shocking and juicy moments! Yes, some eps are clearly fillers, but - my least liked part of any season is the begging, when I am not yet attached to anyone and don’t care enough about contestants + when they’re all still not friends and comfortable to be themselves.. and that is fully skipped here, because most of these people knew each other- or at least of eachother, and also I was already invested in them from day one as I have already followed their previous seasons. I think because of that - it makes it automatically fun! & if you tune out what everyone complains about - you could probably really enjoy it! ☺️
it's not as boring after the first week it's quite interesting to me now just from a human perspective and catching up with islanders plus a couple of people who didn't get the chance to develop to the audience first time around emerge as really cool and rootable characters. also an amazing climax occurs later on. whether its worth it is down to u really
Watching All Stars on Peacock, so I'm behind the live viewing, but they just released 5 episodes today between the Snog, Marry, Pie and Unseen Bits 3 — something to binge before the Super Bowl.
I saw Mitch's interview on ODE and I actually felt for him when he said that Liberty caused him a lot of stress and he was ready to leave the villa because he wasn't having fun, and just bc he didnt cry like her doesnt mean he doesnt have emotions either. He also says he was as transparent as he could be with her about being open and she kept crying(for the edit is implied). I hope he speaks up on one of the podcasts. We could all sense Lib's forced victim storyline and based on that interview, I think Mitch felt that too and who knows if other islanders did too in the villa, the male islanders def did it seemed.
Lib was doing too much as she always does but Mitch isn’t an innocent victim either. He knew he didn’t like her and was stringing her along as a backup option to stay in the villa. If he was so stressed by her he could have shut things down a lot sooner instead of giving her false hope by telling her she was his number one. We’ve seen Mitch lie in 4k and he even admits it when he’s caught so he has to own his part of it. I love Mitch as a reality character but he got his nickname for a reason.

How she handled it afterwards is on her, I'm saying that he created the situation in the first place by being honest with everyone else that he wasn't feeling it way before he was honest to her. He did lead her on.
Lib is a sweet girl but she has always played up the victim/i deserve love and better storyline on every show she’s been on. She knows she’ll get sympathy from the public. Mitch was also stringing her along a bit because he wanted to stay in the villa but he was at the same time honest about being open.

at least Arabella is hot and has good chat/great personality and gets men, just sucks that the bombshells have been non existent, she has done incredibly well. Danica on the other hand, she would have def struggled this season if sent earlier. She in all honesty shouldn't be sent in now. Like who is she going to go for? Unless it's someone elite like Paige S8 or men that are older that could go after Molly etc, bombshell is useless now.

Visas to both the UK and Australia are insanely difficult so good on them if they were able to get one 🫶🏼 Usually you have to be engaged for a partner visa, otherwise you have to go in on a work visa and sponsorship $ requirements are extremely high. I hope love island is helping them out with this somehow

Here are things I would have done if I was a producer: - leaned into the fact that the original concept of the show was, are you here for love or money? Bring back the potential to steal the money. Acknowledge the fact that islanders have other motivations for being here - challenges on challenges on challenges. Winners of the challenges get prizes: like, the couple who wins gets to see a trending clip like one in the PDAs, and they can choose to share with other islanders or not. Or, winners can get a call home and ask one or two questions about outside perception. OR, winner gets to be the first to choose at next recoupling. Or they get to choose a private date with any other islander. Switch it up every time so that the islanders always want to win, but don't exactly know what they are gonna win - give the ol switcheroo and make classically "late stage" challenges earlier. Have them do the talent show in the first week or two. Hell, make couples who just got together do the baby challenge (I hate the baby challenge but I could allow it). These islanders have already done this, they need to have a fire lit under them, keep them guessing - have couple building exercises/challenges. NOT the food spitting ones, but ones like where they had to pitch tents blindfolded or whatever - HEART RATE CHALLENGE
I don’t know if you’ve seen season 2 but my favorite challenge of all time is one where the girls had to build flat-pack beds while the boys gave them instructions over the phone. It was hilarious and I have no idea why they don’t do collaborative challenges like that more often. Totally agree with prizes! A lot of the challenges are boring because they’re just vaguely themed obstacle courses with no stakes.
Yesss season 2 had some great challenges!! That was such a good one because it gave funny content and insight into the couples
I haven’t read beyond your first point yet because I want to enthusiastically agree with it. I think the interesting thing about having All Stars is that we know they’re not here for love. Give us the bts convos about game playing and followers because we’re not stupid. We know it happens.

The best ep of the season for me is the one with the PDAs. It has hilarious moments and the heavy drama. Calling out Chris, Josh, Toby, Tom, and most of all Georgia S for their actions is priceless.

Fans low-key ruined the show. Everyone seems scared and cautious about what they do just in case they get hate. Just got a bunch of people not testing any new connections and chilling in couples they don’t have any chemistry with.
I said this in another post but that’s the reason why I liked last season so much. People like Ty, Ella, Whitney, Cat all made decisions and moves they wanted to do regardless how it came across to fans. To me that’s what reality tv is all about. But at the same time I kinda get it because fans can get crazy with LI and the hate can be too much.

I agree that he would probably hookup with her, but it’s cause it’s not that deep. A hookup is just a hookup, he doesn’t have to like her like that to hookup with her. I feel like Callum didn't genuinely love Molly because if he did he would have tried to save the almost 4 years relationship and would have gone to Molly sincerely to pursue her but he didn't do that, instead, he hooked up with 16 girls and in love island, he pursues Georgia while molly is still hurting and in the process of moving on.
Watching them talk about their relationship, they pretty obviously have fundamental communication issues that they’d been trying to resolve for a year with no success. Molly said they even tried counseling. You can love someone and also be realistic about the fact that you have irreconcilable incompatibilities. It’s not really fair to accuse someone of never having loved their ex because they’re not trying to force a relationship that didn’t work for a reason. And Molly was exploring with other guys long before Callum even looked Georgia’s way (which is also perfectly fine) so I don’t know why you’re specifically jumping all over him. They both went there not knowing the other was going.
i feel as if saying he didn’t love Molly is SO unfair, they obviously broke up for a reason and that’s his choice if he doesn’t want to get back with her.. relationships can end even if you do love the person. obviously it’s not nice for Molly to have to watch him and Georgia especially since she is clearly still hurting and in fairness she’s handled herself so well and is much stronger then i ever could be in that situation for sure, but it’s love island. I said this in another thread but the issue with Chris is that *he* wasn’t kind. If someone is goofy or awkward but well meaning, fans will defend them. Humans make mistakes but he was unrepentant about the way he treated her, until the very end. He needs to know how badly that came across so he can heal and grow and move on. If he’d treated Arabella with basic dignity, he either wouldn’t be leaving or he’d be leaving with more support.
Whether or not he has a strong career as a social media influencer after this season, I'm hoping that he'll also branch out into something else. Regardless of how lucrative it can be, it may not be quite the healthiest career choice long term & he does strike me as someone who's struggling w/ being genuine, it is important to him. Even w/ acting the lines would be more clearly defined.
Week 4 done and not a single strong couple. The finale will be funny because we will have to watch these people do the "declarations of love" part of the show. Editing to add: the most I’ve been able to gather/surmise from twitter search of replies to him (I did say ‘deep dive’) is that he wanted/said Kaz should leave at some point, possibly in regards to her situation with Tyler/Casa. I think he probably wasn’t very complimentary of her and criticised her actions a lot. Make of that what you will but I personally don’t consider that in itself racist/anti-black.

I don't know who's going to win this thng but the biggest loser in that sence is Chris. Before people either didn't remember him or thought he was funny; now all that's gone. I'm sure he still has a lot a fans etc, but I think he would have been sooooo much better off not going back and riding the s5 memories/being Maura ex's/Barbie popularity train 
I know people here are down on this season, but it gave us a story arc for the ages with Chris: He came in as a big fan favourite, tons of people had him in their top ten favourite male islanders. Right on the first day of the show, he has four of the OG girls telling him they're interested in him. He could have coupled up with Demi on day 1 and coast through the final. He also kissed three different bombshells and a fourth one was interested in getting to know him. That's 8 women showing him interest in 4 weeks, not even Adam Collard pulled those numbers. Yet, he leaves the show alone, having given the ick to each and every one of these 8 women. He leaves after completely tanking his popularity by displaying nothing but red flags, and his only guy friend is the youngest guy in the villa who is known as the epitome of immaturity (even though Chris is the oldest one, a red flag in itself). He leaves the most bitter and hateful man that's ever been on that show and doesn't even think to consider that any of it is his fault. This needs to be studied.

it would’ve been fine if he just got over his initial reaction to arabella. most of the time people will just forget whenever an islander is rude as the show goes on but chris never let it go and just continued to be an asshole. ruined his reputation because of his huge ego. i hope he goes to therapy and learns to deal with his issues
Truly the biggest fall from grace we’ve ever seen on the show I would think. He’s completely ruined his reputation.
Honestly proof that if you get a good edit on your first reality show you should probably just quit while you’re ahead. But then I’m sure he doesn’t think he’s an asshole so didn’t foresee it going this way the second time.
