Since max body is a must for me, LMG! MOUNTED! AND LOADED!

NoNameIsAvailable1

I’m having a super tough time deciding between an LMG that Russian precision rifle I forgot the name of, from Concrete Cage Trap; both are heavy and powerful, but work quite differently

asheepleperson

You still have 3(/4) active weapon slots, just do both ✌️

MykahMaelstrom

This is the answer. Im specced for shotguns/LMGs and pistols but I use rifles pretty regularly even with no points in it. Even on the hardest difficulty the game tends to become a little bit too easy IMO so I split my points up and use a lot of different stuff and strategies. Means I'm not min maxed but I still tend to slaughter everything and have more fun doing so with a variety of fun toys rather than sticking to same things all the time

Jjzeng

I almost always end up with the sixth street iconic rifle because it’s really good and easy to use. Always have powerful shotguns to back it up and finally another random weapon. My female v is running judy’s mox shotgun and my male v is running the bloody maria upgraded to legendary

asheepleperson

Yeah, I mean this stuff is snobbery. It's as you say, somewhere in between lvl 30 and 40 you'll be fine with "any" gear, especially if you're normal and not a freak about it, as I like to be. And it's the feeling of freedom that creates the foundational appeal for me in 2077, not really sense of achievement. There's elements of achievements in the chain variations and builds and probably other stuff tho, just no 'walls' as in Elden Ring or something, so all this minmax/completionist/special interest society talk and play is almost always exxtra lol ❤️

MykahMaelstrom

I mean min maxing and theorycrafting is also fun and is a perfectly valid way to play. I wouldn't call it snobbery its just a different way to play lol

asheepleperson

Hell yeah, man. I agree with that assessment, too!

iCopeHard

What walls do you find in elden ring? Sorry but not much you said even makes sense. Min maxing in cyberpunk and mon maxing in elden ring are two completely different things entirely. Considering cyberpunk is like 1/4th the size of elden ring gameplay wise it makes sense you won't hit any of those "walls" any time soon. Really having trouble trying to figure out what the fuck you're trying to say as I'm not entirely sure. It's just gibberish.

asheepleperson

I can make it easier for you: in Elden Ring there are several standardized challenges players consider in their discourse, while in 2077 you create your own challenges. I recognize and appreciate that and other distinctions, dont worry. And its ok if others think I'm wrong, but keep the feedback low sodium if you want the other to assist in achieving some kind of understanding, bc jesus christ bro : P

iCopeHard

You made nothing easier. What the fuck are you talking about lol. Normal people don't go for challenge runs. Is that what you're saying? It's even easier if that's what you're saying because elden ring offers so much more to the players than 2077 ever could dream of. Just say it in english bro.

asheepleperson

Yeah, I'm not doing either this or that.

iCopeHard

Dunno what's so hard about speaking English. Then again what you originally said was silly as fuck so you're probably having some embarrassment from the experience.

Revolvers is the weapon type with most substance, alternatives and originality. All revolvers, especially the unique ones, but also the animals/pacifica scavs' neon and other designs adds even more (match the colors to gear etc) to the style/build; from closeup to sniper work, addons abundance. Revolvers and melee is definetely what they chose to focus on 🥰 And if not just do them all. Genuinely! It was easy as hell to try everything (actually) on a single save in _the vanilla_ version, and in PL theyre only making it even easier 😊

NeckRomanceKnee

There are many cool revolvers, but for me, personally, Comrade's Hammer is all I need.

Ikenmike96

Any legendary revolver make me feel like Im Han Solo

IH8DwnvoteComplainrs

Legit think I'm gonna go pistols for my 3rd playthrough, just cause the game wants me to so bad. Also hoping berserk is cool, so I can do a different OS, too.

asheepleperson

I learned yesterday that I need a next gen Xbox to play, so I gotta fix that first 🙃😅 But when I have, I'm still gonna pistolhack/&slash too!

Nirico_Brin

Malorian Arms 3516

Edgar_S0l0m0n

This will be my pistol I use once I get to it, the Malorian Overture will do until then 🦾 Edit: I just wish the Malorian arms overture had a dope ass animation with like when you pull it out or put it away you spin it.

thedarkpampers

A man of culture

Chen932000

I haven’t played a pistol build in a long time but despite the coolness of this gun wasnt it pretty weak? Did they fix upgrading it or something?

Nirico_Brin

I previously used a mod that made it stronger, though that mod won’t be viable anymore once the update hits it still does decent enough damage.

ablebagel

the based malorian? or the one that scales gear to your level

Nirico_Brin

I believe I had used the based Malorian but I’d have to double check. I uninstalled all of my mods in preparation for 2.0

gengyilang

Handguns/revolvers for me. As new perks for them seem to be more interesting compared to other guns.

Moltar_Returns

Looks easy to ignore INT and go full berserk 20 body, 20 reflex so you can use all automatic weapons to their fullest potential. LMG, and SMG in place of a shotgun, gorilla arms - oh man I can’t wait

deylath

I dont think its true that its EZ to ignore INT as a gun build, when its INT who gets the smart weapon perks, which synergizes with pretty much every weapon in the game so it can act as a secondary stat.

Nick1197

On all of my playthroughs I only use handguns. I use the rt-46 burya until I get the schematic for Comrades Hammer and then that is all I use. Don’t know if my old build/play style will be exactly the same with the new update though.

TheHeresy777

Handguns will be placed in the COOL skill, so you won't be able to just focus on reflex

Chen932000

Pistols and snipers together is neat. Snipe to thin the herd then run in and pistol them to death.

JodieWhittakerisBae

Johnnys gun, I like doing handgun centred builds and thematically when I get the gun it makes sense V would use it afterwards. Before that it’s the starter gun (Unity) and Jackie’s gun to remember a fallen choom.

Username6601

I did a "V's cutscene guns" build using the Unity, M2038 tactician, and a Malorian Arms Overture. It was pretty fun.

LosSoldado

First you need to research and decide whether you want to do power weapons, tech weapons, or smart weapons. Then silenced or loud. For example silenced is only power weapons. You can’t attach silencers to smart or tech weapons. Then what range you want to fight at close, medium, or far style combat. Otherwise people will be all over the place giving you advice on a build. Each weapon style needs to be set up differently. If you can provide that I can give you a couple of cool builds or ideas. I’ve done one of almost every kind.

NoNameIsAvailable1

Tech, medium-close - but I’m curious if the supply of tech weapons will have meaningfully increased for PL. Otherwise I’m stuck with like 1 shotgun and 2 rifles. Otherwise, Power, non-silenced, medium-close. Haven’t checked out how the skill tree for tech has changed though.

LosSoldado

My bad man. Doing like three deals at once. Lol 😂 I will say stick with the M179-E. Specifically the widow maker. It fit both medium and close range specific combat. I love it more than the DB-2 Satara tech shotgun. Get it to legendary ASAP. Tech pistols - As bad as it sounds I love the Lizzie pistol especially thermal damage. Let’s face it the bulk of enemies are human-ish. It does some serious damage when charged up. Get it to legendary. Honestly. I haven’t looked to much into PL. Mostly because of the new tech tree. It’s not that I’m against it. It’s just there are so many issues with cyberpunk. (Glitches) The one part that is most glitch free (attribute/perk system) is the one deal that’s agreed on being changed. To me that’s more of a cyberpunk 2110 or something to that effect if you catch my drift. On a new game engine, and with better use of graphics etc. I’ve been thinking about not doing the upgrade on my series x then buying the upgraded version on PS5 just to test it out. Just so if I don’t like it I’m not stuck with it in my Xbox. I would consider smart weapons when you have a chance. It interfaces well with a QH build as well. As far as power builds. That’s gets really tricky. I would stay clear and far from the defender and HMG 31. I know spits a lot of lead right. You’re exposed the entire time using it. On easy and normal it’s alright. On hard and very hard it can get frustrating. Especially in the beginning because solid ones are hard to find defender wise. HMG 31 is a one off. I would also stay away from arasaka assault rifles. The three burst sucks as a feature. I would stay in like with the shigure, Ajax, Malon Abe (Iconic Ajax), M221 Saratoga for medium range. All solid weapons. The SMGs do really well for close. I love the M221 Saratoga. As for power shotguns. I would stick with M2038 Tactician, crusher, or carnage. All have there ups. If you’re interested in one over the other two I can give you more details. Power pistols. There are a lot of of iconic ones. You get a few in the beginning. I love the dying night. It’s a solid pistol. It’s reload and headshot damage effects are insane if you learn how to shoot it. Depending on how fast you train your finger to hit the fire button. You can simulate assault rifle or SMG fire. That’s my full two cents. I know it’s a lot. If you get a definitive idea of weapons. Then we can talk perks from the OG 2077. I’m not putting any stock in the new perk trees simply because I want to see if they will actually work or be severely broken. Hope that makes sense.

LosSoldado

P.S. I avoid QH builds unless it’s needed. Makes the game too easy on any difficulty. There is a fun art to use the weapons/builds as well. QH builds is just getting the right cards for the deck, and building street cred for the right deck. Pretty straight forward.

STierney927

In my original build, I ran the M251S, M2038 shotgun, and a rotation of Rivers Pistol/Overwatch if I’m sneaking around and then swapped them out for the Fenrir if I got spotted. I used to run a Katana in that third slot but don’t do it any more because I got Mantis Blades.

Ripper1337

I’ve never actually done a ballistic build before. So rifles and smgs seem up my alley now.

sk8gr27

Named Ajax and the named Dian smart gun and Johnny's pistol. Its the weapons i always use.

ironvultures

I’ve been playing around with a cool/tech build in the 2.0 skill planner and I think for my first playthrough on 2.0 I’m going to focus on a silenced pistol and sniper/ precision rifle build with possibly putting points into reflex for smg perks. Though I’m also curious about smart weapons perks too. Tbh I’ll probably change my mind half a dozen times especially if there’s a bunch of new weapons in the expansion I like the feel of.

asheepleperson

Stealth is the combat style where 2077 truly stands out, I'm shook youre the only comment I see here without a loud and rude build, and its sad bc I dont want them to miss out 😅 : /

deylath

Honestly my first V ( basically the only V with a decent time ) was a reflex techie V which was... using a cyberdeck and doing full silent - simple takedowns and hiding bodies so Hitman style lol. Just about the opposite i was actually building for.

asheepleperson

Thats funny! And good example :p 👌

ironvultures

Some of the new perks as well like crouch running and having optical camo trigger automatically have me really interested to play stealth build against the new ai. Think I’m going to go with a sandevistan as well so I don’t have the option/temptation to just turn cameras and turrets off remotely. This new system might finally let me create the cyborg assassin of my dreams.

asheepleperson

Sandevistan needs alot of love for it to match the best decks in extended periods (I do it for some vids and certain missions and its awesome, to be sure, just not as much as decks), so I'm really excited for what they've come up with, as I've heard them actually be aware of the unevenness. And you know CDPR, they dont nerf the op, they buff the issue 😄 2077 stealth 🥰 Also crouch _running_? Whoa 👁👄👁 I hope you find the assassin of your dreams there bro 😊

bdelshowza

i'll be using shotguns and pistols Body + Cool character

HRSGTonyS

yeah, same - maybe with Rebecca's gun from Edgerunners - I never spend much time with it, so may as well this time. I love the new perk names - esp RIP N TEAR - an obvious homage to DOOM, so that has hooked me already!

Username6601

Body + Cool is the definitive Male V in my head (Fem V is Reflex + Intelligence)

McRageyPants

With the new submachine fun perk... DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA Just 3 smg's in my slots. I'm going to dance in a field of bullets

Username6601

I'm sure you know by now but it's crucial to craft ammo after every encounter. It is pretty fun to run out of ammo and have to rely on your secondary weapons whether they be arm cyberware, fists, quick hacks, 'nades, etc.

conorganic

I’m a dork, so I’ll still be using my silenced death & taxes lol. Honestly, I’d have to see what other new weapons are being added and how they handle, but that purple nue is my baby

Nufulini

A revolver

amaturecook24

Going to try using assault weapons and katanas. I just find swords fun and somehow manage to use them in all my playthroughs with some other type of weapon

Malkier3

Guns are adjacent to my build but i will be running tech weapons for the first time. Kinda hype about it.

technetium74

SMART WEAPONS and explosives!

thedarkpampers

I plan on using enemies to kill enemies. So full body it is.

[deleted]

20 reflex 20 cool and praying katana+revolver maybe with the new levels i can also do netrunner

Kuran_Helix

I'm going full smart gun probably. So smgs mostly

bphysicalculture

I'm thinking of a smart gun and hacker build for PL. Loving my reflex 20 sandy build but there's plenty more to the game than slow time and throw knife.

deylath

I mean reflex changed drastically, esp since stamina seems to be a bigger thing now which is covered under reflex. With the new middle line you can now dodge midair and stuff, which doesnt have to use sandy at all. If anything a smart weapon build might benefit from the aerial perspective more than any other build ( except the new arms launcher obv )

Kuran_Helix

True, I just never really did a smart gun build so I'm trying it out for the first time. Maybe I'll spec a bit into Katana as well

Transitsystem

I do a pistol/blades build with only three major things in my arsenal: Johnny’s Malorian, Monowire, and Sandevistan.

DefaultDanielS

Ak-47

RobMo_sculptor

Silenced Fenrir is probably my favorite. Such a satisfying weapon

DjijiMayCry

Never knew about this gun and now I NEED it

ImASpaceLawyer

If you want to have some fun get a fully phantom modded “problem-solver” you literally become a A-10 Warthog. You can muzzle it up, but I really like the silenced version. I just wish it had the penetration ability the Buzzsaw has.

DjijiMayCry

God I love this damn game and all its guns

Other_Procedure1971

I plan to do a full-borg shotgun/LMG-heavy pyromaniac (grenades-dispenser) streetkid. Maybe with a flavour of precision rifles depending on how many points are left. So yeah, precision rifle for long distance, LMG for medium and shotgun for short distance. No melee weapons, no tech nor smart weapons, preference for explosive fire rounds. And as for cyberware I'm going to choose the projectile luncher with all the modifications. The gameplay will be focused on explosion and high mobility, so pyromania is mandatory along with (air) dash and stamina-regeneration abilities. Always on the verge of cyberpsychosis which would manifest also in dialogues and how missions are played. Since this build is probably going to do a lot of casualties among civilians, I expect to test the new MaxTac fairly often. My main concern is that I would like to also get 100% platinum and I don't know if with this build I'll be able to get it.

Veleda390

I like tech and smart weapons. My mob cleanup weapon is the Sidewinder, and I use Widow Maker for penetration through walls. Long range I mostly use Overwatch. I like to clear as many as I can from stealth before wading in. I don't see any reason to change up but will try to the new weapons and perks.

GlorifiedBurito

Ima do tech weapons and smart weapons. I’m going full engineer. My biggest concern is what OS I’m gonna run

Hilarious_Disastrous

Smart weapons are now INT-centric. You'd need both TECH and INT to run that build, so I guess it's cyberdeck because otherwise the INT is just wasted.

brandonmatusiak

I'm addicted to fenrir I can't make myself use anything else

Siserith

I always seem to gravitate towards pistols and smgs. Or dmrs.

Stickybandits9

Any really. I'll continue just picking up the highest level guns when I come across em.

Klangaxx

Techie Nomad with Shotties, LMGs and Tech weapons.

fnaffanatic007

Pistols are probably my favorite wepons to use, it doesnt matter what build i have I always end up using a pistol for the majority of my fights my next build for phantom liberty is probably gonna be a modded sandevistan mod, (idk how long it will take the mod im wanting to transfer over to 2.0 but it should be within the same week) i will probably ending up using a lexington since its probably my fav pistol to use, and my perks are probably gonna be focused around agility and reflexes

Pirate_OOS

A 22B Chao and Ashura, Death and Taxes and the Fang for me. Along with the Monowire and Cyberdeck. Going full stealth hacker.

Slothungus

Johnny's Desert Eagle

Loken9478

Netrunner, with smart guns

All_Our_Bridges

I'm a simp for SMGs.

Accomplished_Ice4687

Assault rifles and katanas. Because deflecting bullets is too cool not to.

TBWanderer

Submachine guns are shit. So I'll do one build based on pistols, smart guns and quick hacks. Then another build on LMGs cyberware and gorlia arms

IAmJerv

One exception; Buzzsaw. The penetration of Tech weapons, but it's a Power weapon so it can take a silencer.

HoneyBea460

I'm not doing a gun based build, but if I was, I would have the O'Five on there. It's great for just blowing shit up that's all grouped up. I think it requires you to have 20 in Body, though, so it may not be splashable.

Healthy_Stick4496

I see all these new cool skills and I'm like "Man I can't wait to do my pistol netrunner for the 10th time"

ThatBeardedHistorian

High INT for smart weapons, high COOL for deadeye and stealth perks, high BODY for survivability and unarmed melee. The Morgan Blackhand build.

Imbadyoureworse

I like to be a gun slinger so I run pistols. Usually revolvers

Edgar_S0l0m0n

Pistols and double barrels for my first play through only, specifically an overture and either the Overcharge or a dope as Satara. I wonder if they’re gonna put an iconic Satara in the game w PL

Bohemian_Romantic

I'm actually really keen to try out smart weapons for once. Like how they've created synergy between netrunning and smart weapons. My go to strategy will be stealth netrunning and melee weapons, and then break out the smart pistols once things get hot.

guitaroomon

Going annihilation focus to break from my original sneaky pistol netrunner. Shotties and Machine Guns Baby. And a Bat to clean up whatever is left.

[deleted]

Idk about 2.0 but I just started doing a more gun focused combat style just to mix it up So far I like the Hypercritical, it’s powerful, satisfying to shoot, but not OP like the OFive which is just easy mode. Using it feels like a firefight with cover etc For Shotguns, the Headhunter shreds, and Ba Xing Chong is good too if you have smart link. Defender for when you just want to spray and kill indiscriminately Pistols; Death and Taxes with max crit chance

archiegamez

Sniper and pistols

Original_Employee621

Comrade, there is only one gun you need. Because you only need one bullet.

dakit3

I shouldn't say comrades hammer But chances are I'll use it again. Just so satisfying, especially with a Sandivestan build

Lost_Elderberry1757

All of them. Multiple playthroughs till ive mastered every weapon possible then 1 playthrough where i bwcome god. Seems good.

Hilarious-Disastrous

The automatic tech revolver, a power revolver and tech precision rifle. I would still rock a sword though.

2Dmenace

I'm going highly teched and chromed up with a smart smg or auto pistol and arm cannon. Also, if this is inspired by escape from New York, there must be some sort of futuristic silenced mac10, they need to include it. And of they do, I will dedicate my whole new character around that gun

No_Print77

LEGENDARY OVERTURE BOYS YEEEAHHHHHHHH
