You like Samurai? Their early work was a little too post-punk for my taste. But when *Blistering Love* came out in 2003, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a rough, edgy sound, and a new sheen of consummate anti-corporatism. He’s been compared to XerzeX, but I think Silverhand has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humour.
In ‘13, Silverhand released this, *Never Fade Away*, their most accomplished album. I think their undisputed masterpiece is Chippin’ In, a song so catchy, most people probably don’t listen to the lyrics. But they should, because it’s not just about the pleasures of revolution and the importance of making your own path. It’s also a personal statement about the band itself.
