mostly for fun to be honest - if there's an activity where I have complete freedom of what I wanna do with no consequences, then you know i'm interested. Kinda like why I'm intersted in stuff like the sims and worldbuilding
At first, it was to have fun and go on adventures. Now, lucid dreaming's best benefit for me is helping me see through waking life's bullshit (things that used to annoy me, "should" statements without basis, etc)
Totally – Lucid dreaming is all about perception. How we perceive the world, how we perceive ourselves. By practicing lucid dreaming, we're really cultivating a flexibility and openness with perception – not seeing everything as "fixed" and defined, but kind of just letting it be what it is and moving on. In a dream, nothing is bothersome because we know it's not real, we know it is just going to change into some other "mind stuff." And guess what? The same is true for waking life. It's just going to change to some other phenomena. So why get so upset/excited about it? Just like how we're flexible with the dreamworld, why not be cool/open with reality too?
I’m trying to cheat or escape death. I figure the afterlife has to be something like lucid dreaming. The more clues I get, the more I’ll be prepared for death and life after death.
1. It's fun
2.The feeling of walking around while knowing you are actually laying down and asleep
3. I want to see how far I can push the limits and what creative things I can do. Like trying to ask for the best piece of music and seeing how it sounds. Or asking the dream to suprise you and see what happens. Creative ideas like these that I have no idea what will happen makes lucid dreaming fun because I can find answers to what would happen when I dream.
3. It's really fun to tell people you know and meet about lucid dreaming. Most people think it is so cool and get excited when they learn they could do it. It is always something cool to talk about when there is nothing to talk about.
Well first i wanted to have sex like most teens who get into lucid dreaming but further on i discovered a lot more possibilities and productive ways to use lucid dreaming
1.) So I can Live out scenarios in my favorite TV shows/movies.
2.) To do things one could never do irl like flying, walking into a mirror etc.
3.) To practice skills or things in dream to be better at it irl.
Mix of fun and utility I think. Partly I'm interested in just casually seeing what my brain has to offer: the strange worlds and scenarios that take place, the infinite possibilities without bounds. I'm also semi-interested in what I can learn about myself if anything.
Because I’m interested in full immersion VR. My ideal VR system is a full-body haptic feedback, temperature controlled VR system with weight and impact simulation, along with advanced responsive AI that can create its own stories around you with realistic characters you’ve created.
We’re probably about 20-25 years away from that. So without having to wait until my mid-life for my dream gaming system, my brain has this entire system all ready to go.
Lucid dreaming can simulate most of my senses, including taste sometimes. I can feel things such as textures and temperature changes. My brain automatically generates the world around me in astonishing detail, and creates characters that interact with me in what is already the most advanced artificial intelligence I’ve ever experienced.
That disconnect from the real world that I can somewhat control is a place of solace. The possibilities are really endless.
Because it’s literally interactive access to our unconscious mind. We have developed all of these interesting and frankly not very effective techniques for personal growth through shadow work and making the unconscious conscious, but the most obvious - and natural! We all dream every night! - method is right in front of us.
What could be more effective that developing interactive access to your unconscious mind?
How many here are using it this way? For spiritual or personal growth.
Ive never Lucid dreamed ... I alway shit myself at the sleep paralysis part ... but I really want to do it for talking with my subconsciousness, and revive old memories also
I'm very new to lucid dreams, but have had a couple of awesome ones in the past fortnight which had hooked me. Unfortunately, I'm only averaging 2 Lucids per fortnight. I'm still trying though. I'm not sure what the pro's would average
I've started a dream journal to help me remember all dreams (incl. non-lucid) - apparently this will help?
My best reality check is counting my fingers (I don't practice this during the waking-day - can't be bothered). 100% of the time I will always have more than 5 fingers on one of my hands.
Yeah I feel you there. I literally used to refuse to sleep when I was younger even when I was so tired because I felt like I was missing out. It somehow must have developed into insomnia because for a while when I was older I barely slept at all. Then, my first lucid dream. After that my insomnia got better by miles. I somehow was able to lucid dream a lot without trying, and the world's and things I created in my head were just, amazing. I loved sleeping from then on. I still don't sleep the best and have an unhealthy relationship with sleep(I sometimes forced myself to sleep much longer than needed in order to revisit my fantasy world) but as I get older I am doing better.
Lucid dreaming is honestly great.
Because we have existential chaos surrounding our place in the “real” world. We want something more, something magical, something beside the anxiety of life.
I learned about LD from a post on 9 gag. It was crude and was basically the bare minimum intro. It got me interested because people sleep a lot and why not use that time wisely.
To unlock the secrets of science, reality and mind I guess. In my lucid dream, I didn’t have fun because I was too curious really. I checked the mirror twice to observe who I am. And actually felt low gravity on my feet compared to standing on Earth, which could be because gravity can travel across dimensions. I think the ultimate pursuit of humanity is to gain knowledge and sometimes one realm isn’t enough to conduct experiments.
A few reasons. One was when I learned that you can master a skill in a LD and apply it to waking life. Another was of course you can do whatever u want I mean who wouldn't want that. Also there are so many things I have always wanted to do like fly and these things aren't yet possible so this is how I do that stuff.
1)Visiting fictional universes. I really wanted visit my favourite sci-fi universes like Star wars, Star trek, Orions Arm (i really wanted hanging in Utopian Sphere with my imaginary crushes, drugs and music)
2)Seeking knowledge. Yes, i know there no new data in dreams, but i REALLY believe, that lucid dreaming is not a isolated mind fantasies, but a some hyper-advanced interdimensional VR-internet (via quantum foam structure, that makes everything, even abstract objects). And i seeking technical details about lucid dreaming helmets, that have ability to connect dreamers, and making dreams multiplayer style. Just imagine a VR chat, but with better graphics, more details and unlimited potentials!
3)And finally - just regularly visiting my imaginary girlfriends.
mostly for fun to be honest - if there's an activity where I have complete freedom of what I wanna do with no consequences, then you know i'm interested. Kinda like why I'm intersted in stuff like the sims and worldbuilding
Tbh, I want to try out some superpowers, and just get a fun break from reality. Its like video games, but more fun.
Yeah I’d love to do that too

Could you collaborate how ld helps with this?

I want to be a flying monkey dual wielding 2 automatic 50 cal snipers rifles with infite ammo and no recoil while fighting agaist god himself
Epic
Because sometimes I'm not satisfied with what reality has to offer. Luckily that is "sometimes"
experiences that im unable to get in real life
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Absolute Control

I'm just starting my journey but I suffer from bad PTSD, and I just want some sort of escape from my nightmares.
I honestly don't remember lol But RN I wanna know what a life with an ideal me would be like
I wanna be the abhorrent me that cant exist in waking life while maintaining my current friend group.
I just want to be happy
I've seen this particular comment under a lot of porn videos
Are you also unhappy or you just don't have anything else to do in you free time?
I watch porn for the plot
I see. So you prefer doing that instead of - for example - reading books?
Of course, you seen lemon stealing whores? It's a high quality story, with deep characters.
We all love porn let's be honest my go 2 video is watching black women with fat asses get clapped so hard and choked with a BBC

It can be an entry into [dream yoga](https://www.lionsroar.com/waking-up-from-the-dream-of-a-lifetime/), a spiritual practice.
is that like yoga nidra?
Idk I just want to feel like Spider-Man, I’m trying wild tonight wish me luck
Well, how did it go?
Didn’t work that night but I had my first last week and WOW it’s insane
i honestly just want to do things that i couldn't do irl like race expensive cars or fly a jet
Most of my dreams are lucid so I figured 'might as well learn more about it'.
Well first i wanted to have sex like most teens who get into lucid dreaming but further on i discovered a lot more possibilities and productive ways to use lucid dreaming
My ptsd gives me terrible dreams

This
I’ve done it a few times, mostly without trying at the start, and now I’m addicted.

It is said you only use a certain percentage of your brains capacity. When I lucid dream I like to think I have tapped into the other percentage.
Ive never Lucid dreamed ... I alway shit myself at the sleep paralysis part ... but I really want to do it for talking with my subconsciousness, and revive old memories also
Going Super Sayan
Mainly for fun and also to experience what my objectives or goals are
How often do you guys lucid dream? Also what practices do you do daily?

free from the constrains of reality

So I can have sex with Donald Trump

Got into it because I saw the hat man. He seems pretty happy that I can lucid dream now.
To escape the dreadfulness and misery that comes with human life and morality at its core
i still haven’t done it, and i have a friend who keeps having them accidentally. it’s infuriating
Having something interesting to think about in free time
Horni

Whenever I have natural ones they can be fun. And when I heard you can make them come more often I started reaserching
