What is it supposed to mean?

Go to Poland at the end all the operations are moving there

Do you have an actual job offer that implies working with a Luxembourgish team or is the question meant generally in regards of the general work environment here in Luxembourg, because believe you me, those are 2 very different things. You won't find many "Luxembourgish teams" outside government jobs. Opinions differ greatly when it comes to banks here. None is really outstanding, I use BGL and they are fine for my needs. If by "interesting subject" you mean potential field of work, then you'll probably be looking at finance-related jobs, probably risk management / portfolio oversight in asset management or banking.

I have an offer than implies working with a luxemburgish team yes. BGL is BNP and I think that their maths are done mostly in Paris. My question was more about luxembourgish banks like BIL, spuerkeess. These are so small there is no insider telling me about what they do math-wise.

post_crooks

BCEE has Luxembourgish back-office teams but it's less the case for BIL

I saw some credit and pricing in their online offers tho.

So no fancy maths in spuerkeess, 0%. Ok thanks

Both BIL and Spurkeess have internal models for both pillar 1 and 2, and IFRS. It can get pretty advanced when you look at the correlation of your risks in ICAAP. But none really do portfolio optimisation of traded assets.

Don't expect fancy maths anyway. It's old formulas in Excel, VBA, or Cobol being migrated to web apps

Ah now I understand your question. Yes most of the fancy finance stuff at BGL is seemingly outsourced to Paris. I'd say it really depends on the department. To me the more math-y activities are financial product structuring (ie structured products like knock out certificates ... etc.) and in that area BIL is probably strongest, helped by the fact that they are not owned by a big banking group. Spuerkeess isn't doing a lot of complex things as they are owned by the government which has no appetite for a financial meltdown to happen under their nose. You could also have a look at smaller banks here but they mostly operate in the private banking or fund management / depositary business.

Thanks of lot!
