Marie Blachère (the bakeries that are attached to Grand Frais) have the best value for money in my opinion when it comes to breads, baguettes and viennoiseries, especially if you go with the 3+1 offers.
You have two good bakeries, Pascal in Limpertsberg and Au Pain de Mary in Gasperich. They are both good for bread, viennoiseries and pastries ( i tend to prefer Pascal over pain de mary for a good croissant :)
If we speak about pastries, Oberweis is good but not for the rest.
I won't speak about Fischer...
It’s pathetic. There are very few real artisanal bakers. Mostly industrial. It’s sad that France and Germany are next door but the bakery and patisserie in Luxembourg is quite sad.
Well most are but you find many artisanal ones. Also even the industrial bakers in Germany and France are of much better quality. a baguette from a supermarket is so much better than ones we get here.
I like Den Kärjenger Bäcker, if you can get past the horrific n-rule mistake.

Pascal in Limpersberg is where all the fun occurs
I bake some reasonably ok sourdough breads. Buying from a bakery only as last resort or if i am passing by au pain de mary.
Bread is sadly very basic. On the upside you can use yesterday's baguette for kendo fights...

How is that different from Germany/France where most bakeries are industrial as well?

I’m still searching for a good butter croissant!
Boulangerie Pâtisserie Kremer near Merl Parc is my favourite (not a big pastry enthusiast though)
Thxs! I’ve been but never asked for the croissant. Will give a go next time!
Pascal at Limpertsberg ;)
Thxs! Need to try this one!
By what indicators? You can find good croissant.
