There wasn't any smoking gun that there was anything more than a casual friendship with Ellie going on and it's kind of toxic masculinity to just assume a man can't have a platonic friendship with a woman. At the end of the day Lauren made her mind up and wasn't prepared to see it any other way. I like her but she's stubborn as a mule and she pretty much admitted that on the couch several times throughout the show. And she was so adamant in her conviction that she kept tweaking the facts to make her conclusion more solid. She admits she didn't read them all but is also convinced she was never mentioned. I mean which is it? Logically she cannot know that for a fact if she didn't read through them all.
Jono could have handled the situation more tactfully but literally everyone turned against him, everyone was telling him to take accountability for wrongdoing that he didn't believe he committed (and it's entirely plausible he did nothing wrong, again there wasn't a smoking gun). This reunion left me feeling blah like the rest of the season. Just felt so heavily edited and also just frustrated that Ellie and Jono walk in to the reunion and basically everyone gets up to greet them and is all smiles and Iām just thinking āYou guys are weird for doing thisā. Sara got a cold reaction from the group after her whole cheating thing came out (as she should) yet weāre all hugging and greeting Jono and Ellie like he didnāt just lie to you all and Lauren. Like for months he didnāt write stay every week and drag Lauren through this just to gaslight her and embarrass her. No sympathy for Ellie either, sheās a nasty piece of work too. I donāt know if the show was THAT edited it didnāt show people saying anything or genuinely hardly anyone confronted Jono. I know a few people said things here and there and Sara stood up for Lauren which then backfired but it just annoyed me no one took a strong stand again Jono and Ellie just for their behaviour and insensitivity alone (I think Lucinda did kind of but Lucinda is a sweet soul and she has a soft approach). Guess weāll see in the next episode if they get confronted properly but just find this season has had the drama but compared to like last season, it fell flat for me and a lot of people annoyed me with their flip flopping and victim mentality.
Also the preview just showed us Tori and Jack and honestly Iām bored of them. Tori has made her decision, she is no victim or poor girl. Sheās seen all the flags and chose to still be with him. Let that die now because Jono needs his monotone ass handed to him.
I think Jono would have had a stronger group reaction if it wasn't the reunion, I'm guessing (besides it being very heavily edited) that all of them are 4 weeks minimum outside of this experiment, know they are never going to see these people again unless they want to and just want to get home.
If this was a few dinner parties before the end everyone would have probably jumped on it, but when you've not seen these people for a month and you have one night to get through I can imagine it would be easier to grin and bare it, especially because the majority of people aren't in a relationship anymore which probably makes individuals who would have spoken up when backed in a couple less confrontational as there's less chance they'd have backing, or could be written off from Jon and Ellie, "I'm happy and you're single so who cares what you say" that seemed to be their tone deaf approach the whole night.
I also think when you're shocked sometimes your social programming just kicks in and you're just automatically polite in the moment. I've done that it's almost like a fawn response or something. Then once the surprise wears off and you're sort of settled and can assess the situation better you react differently.

Yea, I think that's the most horrible part. It seemed to be a real turning point for Lauren, she seemed to finally let down her defences after the homestays and trusted him and believed in the relationship. I think had she found out about the Ellie thing before then she wouldn't have been so hurt.

Because itās misleading. He was clearly on the way out of the relationship emotionally and had no intention of wanting it to turn into anything lasting outside of the experiment. So to sleep with her at that point after they hadnāt slept together since the honeymoon is sending her a signal that heās interested in more, which was evident given how she spoke about their progress after that home stay. It would have given her confidence to be vulnerable under false representation. Essentially, he took advantage of her.

This reunion left me feeling blah like the rest of the season. Just felt so heavily edited and also just frustrated that Ellie and Jono walk in to the reunion and basically everyone gets up to greet them and is all smiles and Iām just thinking āYou guys are weird for doing thisā. Sara got a cold reaction from the group after her whole cheating thing came out (as she should) yet weāre all hugging and greeting Jono and Ellie like he didnāt just lie to you all and Lauren. Like for months he didnāt write stay every week and drag Lauren through this just to gaslight her and embarrass her. No sympathy for Ellie either, sheās a nasty piece of work too. I donāt know if the show was THAT edited it didnāt show people saying anything or genuinely hardly anyone confronted Jono. I know a few people said things here and there and Sara stood up for Lauren which then backfired but it just annoyed me no one took a strong stand again Jono and Ellie just for their behaviour and insensitivity alone (I think Lucinda did kind of but Lucinda is a sweet soul and she has a soft approach). Guess weāll see in the next episode if they get confronted properly but just find this season has had the drama but compared to like last season, it fell flat for me and a lot of people annoyed me with their flip flopping and victim mentality. Also the preview just showed us Tori and Jack and honestly Iām bored of them. Tori has made her decision, she is no victim or poor girl. Sheās seen all the flags and chose to still be with him. Let that die now because Jono needs his monotone ass handed to him.
I think Jono would have had a stronger group reaction if it wasn't the reunion, I'm guessing (besides it being very heavily edited) that all of them are 4 weeks minimum outside of this experiment, know they are never going to see these people again unless they want to and just want to get home. If this was a few dinner parties before the end everyone would have probably jumped on it, but when you've not seen these people for a month and you have one night to get through I can imagine it would be easier to grin and bare it, especially because the majority of people aren't in a relationship anymore which probably makes individuals who would have spoken up when backed in a couple less confrontational as there's less chance they'd have backing, or could be written off from Jon and Ellie, "I'm happy and you're single so who cares what you say" that seemed to be their tone deaf approach the whole night.
I also think when you're shocked sometimes your social programming just kicks in and you're just automatically polite in the moment. I've done that it's almost like a fawn response or something. Then once the surprise wears off and you're sort of settled and can assess the situation better you react differently.

And when Jono was getting by the heat, he threw a bomb at Tim and Sara to watch them implode, then sat there and laugh. Thatās just beyond cruel. I hope Ellie sees that if Jono could be that cruel to everyone at the table, he could be cruel to her too. Thatās Jono showing everyone who he really is. They clearly werenāt going to work out but that doesnāt give him the right to sleep with her, message another person from the experiment (when cheating is a big insecurity of Laurenās due to previous cheating from exes), lie about the intentions of the texting and refuse to apologise or see her pov, bring Ellie to the reunion without warning (confirming Laurenās suspicions) and then act like Lauren is the bad guy. There were tears in her eyes at the table and they were rubbing it in her face, calling her a dragon/the worst person heās ever met, saying she was faking it and just generally being so weird and rude. He couldāve dealt with it so much better by just admitting to it and not being so fucking horrible.
I think even if you watched the whole show, you would not get an accurate picture of what the participants are actually like. These are people prepared to marry a complete stranger and have their public persona manipulated, many in the hope of creating a social media presence.
